Happy Birthday Dean

I feel like I have been on the road for a month. We left Idaho at about 10am and got home around 3pm. It was snowy coming through Utah County. All the way to Utah County the sun was shining and I had to wear sunglasses to be able to see. I was able to read my Scriptures even with the bright sunlight. But we made it safe and sound so I'm grateful. I was very tired when I got home so I did little of nothing.
Today is my son Dean's birthday. It's a bummer that his birthday falls on New Year's Eve but it wasn't my fault. He was due the second week in January but decided that New Year's Eve was when he was coming into this world. His big joke has always been that we just saved a Christmas Present and gave it to him for his birthday. Isn't he just so handsome.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for my son Dean. What a treasure he has always been to me. He is such a wonderful man and I am so proud of him. I am grateful that Heavenly Father sent him to me and that he was willing to come. He has absolutely been the best son in the whole wide world.
Section 135 - Section 138  It always makes me sad to read Section 135 where it tells of the martyrdom of Joseph and Hyrum Smith. I love verse 3 where it says "He lived great, and he died great in the eyes of God and his people..."

Picking Out Doors and Windows

t
Janna and I went to Idaho Falls and picked out plain windows and doors for the exterior of the addition on the house. Then we went to Wal Mart, Taco Bell for lunch, by Janna's work and then home. Scott and Harley are gathering up antlers and getting Harley's new goats she got for Christmas. So we're missing those two. Janna and Austin are out feeding the horse with the two dogs. Maggie and Molly chase after each other all over this farm. They really have fun together.
I am making ham and potatoes for dinner. It has finally cleared up so tomorrow we will be heading home. My car's AWD is disabled because it says we have a spare tire on, which we don't so we had to wait to make sure the roads were really clear. When we get home Tommy will have to take it in to see what's wrong with it. So that's been my day.... And I took a picture of the Kulow kids and their mom.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my daughter. We have so much fun together just hanging out and going to the store. She is the best!!
Section 134 - Section 135  I found it very interesting in verse 17 where it says we are not to teach the gospel, not baptize bond servants contrary to the will and wishes of their masters. As I studied the Student Guide it explained that Missouri was a slave state and the Mormons were accused of trying to overthrow slavery.

Foundation Finished

 Foundation done!!!
Bailee and Maggie having fun.
Rachet and Harley or is it a bird perched on her shoulder.

Today Janna and I rearranged her bedroom and then we went to Rexburg and did a little shopping at Cal Ranch, K-Mart and Broulim's Market. We also paid the concrete bill.
It is bitter cold up here. The wind is blowing and the temperature is falling. We also met Scott at the Chinese place and had lunch. They have yummy food. We spent the evening watching silly TV shows and relaxing. That's been my day!!
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for the Scriptures. I am grateful for the knowledge they give me of my Savior's second coming.
Section 133 - Section 134  This chapter is all about the Second Coming of Christ.

Lazy Day in Idaho

I did some dishes, made lunch, played Frontierville with the kids and that's about it. It was cold, cold, cold up here. Harley read her Nook all day. So far she has read 3 books. Austin played on the computer and helped me do dishes. Bailee listened to her Ipod on her new speaker system she got for Christmas. Tommy ran errands for Boyd. Janna got off work about 1pm and we packed up all the Christmas decorations. Now her house is all put back together. Then we went to the jail so she could get something. Then we had to go to Yellowstone Hardware to get a long tube for Boyd. We had to haul it in Janna's Excursion. It was a riot. I had to be Janna's eyes because it went all the way to the front windshield. It was very big around. But we made it home in one piece. Janna and Austin are playing Mancala. I have never heard of it before but they seem to love playing it.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Joseph Smith. As I have been studing the Doctrine and Covenants it has made me realize how hard it was for him but he remained faithful to the end.
Section 132 - Section 133 I did not know that Emma Smith denied to her dying day that Joseph ever had other wives. But Wilford Woodruff, who was closely associated with the Prophet bore record that Emma did give her husband in marriage to other wives. Very interesting...

Back in Idaho Again

Tommy took our car to the tire shop to get it fixed this morning and then we left for Idaho. I didn't have any pills for Molly so I was hoping and praying she wouldn't throw up. She just laid down and relaxed. She is finally a traveler.  I think all these trips to Idaho have helped her get used to car rides.
When we got here I peeled potatoes to mash, put baked beans in the crock pot to cook and made gravy. Janna had put a smoked turkey in her roaster and cooked it on really low heat. It was moist and so good. I can't wait for a turkey sandwich tomorrow for lunch. The kids and I had fun playing Frontierville, putting away Christmas decorations and eating candy.
Scott and Janna gave us a GPS for my car. I think they are tired of me calling them for directions everytime I leave the drive way. I have wanted one for a long time so I am thrilled.
The poured the stem walls today. I'll take a picture and post it tomorrow.
I am very tired because I got up so early and now it's time for me to go to bed. Good night!!
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for a safe trip to Idaho. For wonderful grandkids, daughter and son in law that make me feel so welcome.
Section 129 - Section 132  I learned about the two kinds of Angels, resurrected Angels with bodies of flesh and bones and the one with spirit bodies in heaven. It was very interesting.

Teaching Harrison's Primary Class

Today I taught Harrison's class in Primary. What a bunch of smart boys. They knew the answers to all the questions and the Joseph Smith story. It was a fun experience. I felt a little bad for the one and only girl in the class. The lesson was on the Priesthood so I tried to include her wherever possible. Hayden came in the classroom after Harrison's class left. This was his class room. As I was going out the door he grabbed me and gave me a hug. Now that just made my day. I so love my wonderful grandkids. When I look at them my heart just fills up to the top with love....
I came home from church and Tommy informed me someone was showing our house at 9am. So we all got busy and straightened everything up. We are also leaving for Idaho tomorrow morning so we needed to get it done tonight. Tommy had a headache so he didn't go to church.
Now I'm tired and going to go to bed and hug my pillow.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Harrison and his willingness to give prayers and listen. He is pretty smart. I love that he likes to go to church.
Section 128 - Section 129  This chapter is all about baptism for the dead and how important it is that we do our family history so we can bind our ancestors to us. I knew I loved doing it for a good reason.

Christmas Day

We had a wonderful Christmas at our house today. We started off by opening presents. Malachi got lots of clothes. It was so good to have him with us for Christmas. Then we went down to Dean and Amie's for breakfast. It was delish, especially the cinnamon rolls which I love. Isn't Amie's table so beautiful.
Amie loved her calendar I got her for Christmas from Lori. I am so glad. I got the kids some gum, candy and 20 gold dollars. John let me take his picture.
I came home from Amie's and started putting together our dinner. We had Ham, AuGratin Potatoes, Salad, Amie's wonderful rolls, Mom's Jello Salad, deviled eggs and pies. Yummy... Aren't the Ingram's so cute all snuggled up together. Amie is reading a book on her Nook she got for Christmas.
After all that I was too tired to do anything else so I just laid down and watched TV. Now I'm going to finish blogging this and go to bed.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my Savior and this celebration of his birth. I have been listening to Christmas music for the last two days and it has helped me to get in the Christmas Spirit.
Section 126 - Section 128 The Lord tells Brigham Young that he doesn't have to travel anymore and he is to care for his family.

Early Morning Shopping

John and I went to Walmart and Smith's this morning at 6:30 am. There was hardly anyone in the stores so we were able to go in and out fast. Then I came home and started on finishing up my Christmas wrapping. Now I am all done.
Check out the little puppy I am taking care of for Susan. Somebody is going to be so surprised. He is already potty trained. Just take him out and he goes to the bathroom. The only problem I have is he just wants to be under my feet all the time so I have to be careful when he is out of his crate that I don't step on him and Molly wants nothing to do with him. Yappy little puppies are so beneath her.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the power of prayer and how uplifting it can be. I love when you pray for peace and it just comes.
Section 125 - Section 126  There were lots of Saints that settled in Iowa. They stayed there until the migration west.

Concrete for Footings

Today was concrete day. John and Janna worked side by side all day. Dad, Harley and Austin worked with them too. It was a lot of work but they got it done. I know they are exhausted after all this. After they got finished John, Tommy and I took off for Utah so I can get ready for Christmas. I have almost everything done but just a couple of things left. We got in some slow traffic so it took us an extra 30 minutes to get home. We were glad to be home. That's a long drive.
Now I'm going to crawl into my comfy bed and get a good nights sleep so I can get all the rest of my stuff done tomorrow.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Janna's friend Boyd who is helping us do all this. He is a very nice man. When Janna asked what we owed him he said a Turkey Dinner. How sweet is that.
Section 124 vs 54 - Section 125 This was a very long chapter dealing mainly with the Nauvoo House and funding for it.

Christmas Shopping

Today Bailee and I finally went Christmas Shopping to finish up. We took a few wrong turns but we eventually found the Mall and WalMart. It was such a relief to finally get it over with. I managed to do laundry, clean up mud, straighten up the house, clean up mud, fix dinner and clean up mud. Of course it had to rain this afternoon to give me something to do. It's good when it's frozen but when it thaws out it's a mess. Austin helped Uncle John off and on all day. He hammered in stakes and fetched and carried.
They are ready for the concrete tomorrow.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Austin. He tries so hard to help. And he does a good job.
Section 124 Vs 1 - Section 124 Vs 53 How hard for the Saints to have the Govenor of Missouri to issue an extermination order. It's barbaric.

Buttermilk Syrup

I had to make Buttermilk Syrup for Bailee this morning. She has been begging for it since we got here. She is so funny. Aunt Amie is her hero because she always makes this to go with her pancakes. I told her I didn't have a recipe so she informed me that we had the "ward cookbook". Sure enough we did. So I made the syrup and Austin made the pancakes. He did it all. What a chef. He did a great job.
They finished digging the footings today. John shoveled dirt and ran a compactor all day. Tommy had to go get things for them. Now I am tired and going to bed.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for John and all his hard work for his parents.
Section 123 - Section 124  The saints were told to gather all the anti-mormon literature and all the things that were against the church. This would serve as evidence of what was done to them. Also I did not know that the govenor of Missouri sent a letter to the church  in 1976 rescinding the extermination order and an apology for all the wrong doing that were done against the church.

Grocery Shopping in Idaho

I went grocery shopping today. We were pretty much out of stuff in this house to eat. I made Taco Soup for dinner and a batch of fudge for Janna. I straighten up the house, did some laundry, did dishes and that's about it. I also studied my scriptures and indexed.
They marked where they are going to dig the footings tomorrow. It has been a sunshiny day off and on.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for these three grandkids that are so much fun. We laughed and had a good time all day. I am so blessed with my 9 fabulous grandkids. I love them all....
Section 122 - Section 123  This section is about what the Lord says to Joseph Smith while he was in Liberty Jail.

Another Beautiful Sabbath Day

I stayed in a motel last night as Scott had a hunting buddy staying with them and I wanted it to be easy for them so we rented a motel. It worked out perfect. I got ready for church and came over to Janna's by 8:30 so we could go to church. It ended up being Janna, Bailee and me. Janna wanted to leave after Sacrament, but as their wonderful Christmas Program came to an end Bailee wanted to stay. I told her if she would stay I would stay so Janna said she would stay too. We went to Sunday School and then to Relief Society. They introduced us in both organizations. We talked with Harley's leader Liz and she asked Janna if she could drop by and visit with Harley. Of course the answer was yes. Then as we were leaving I chose the door to go out of that would take us directly in front of the Presidency. The President jumped up and came over to us. She asked where Janna lived and put her arms around her and it just made Janna cry. The Spirit was taking over. I told the President that she needed visiting teachers and if any played volley ball that would be wonderful. Just so happened there was one. I so love that daughter of mine. She reminds me of Bailee. Moved by the Spirit...
We came home from church and I made Lasagne. Janna and I tried to make chocolate covered pretzels. We got some done but the white chocolate just wouldn't melt right. I was going to make fudge but we have no canned milk so we'll wait for tomorrow. That's been my fabulous Sabbath Day.
Grateful Statement:  Today I am grateful that the church is the same no matter where you go. I am grateful for a Relief Society President that was inspired to know that Janna just needed a big hug to feel welcome.
Section 119 - Section 122  I was especially interested in the explanation of paying an honest Tithe. The study guide quoted President Joseph Fielding Smith as saying, "If we are stingy with the Lord, he may be stingy with us, or in other words, withhold his blessings." I had never thought of it that way.

Back in Idaho

We left this morning to come back to Idaho. John, Tommy, Molly and me! We are going to try to get the footings poured. Janna's friend Boyd is going to do it for us so John is going to help him. Janna's connection are good things. We are just doing a step at a time until we have it framed in. It may take awhile to finish it but at least we are starting.
We went to the Chinese Restaurant for dinner and then grocery shopping for tomorrow. Janna is going to church with me tomorrow so I need to get my rest so I can be at church at 9am.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for a safe drive. There were lots of cars off the road and I am grateful that we arrived safely.
Section 117 - Section 118  I like the way the study guide explained what Olaha Shinehah meant and what Nicolaitane band was. Very interesting. I only wish I had a memory that would remember all these things. Maybe in Heaven...

Busy Day

Doesn't she look depressed. I think the vet hurt her feelings...
I got my hair cut this morning at 6:15am. Judy is such a nice person to do it so early in the morning. I'm sure she could use an extra hour of sleep but she gets up and does my hair. Now that's a friend.
I went to WalMart after that and got some Christmas stuff. Then I took the dog to the vet. She has gone from 26 lbs to 36 lbs in about 6 months so now she only gets 1/3 cup of dog food morning and night. If she doesn't lose some weight on this regiment the vet will check her Thyroid. I told him she spent the summer walking miles in the mountains and didn't lose anything. We'll have to see what happens.
After I got back from the vet I went to Arleen's and worked on genealogy with her. That was my visiting teaching with her for the month. We had to call Salt Lake to fix the mess someone has made out of her file. So after they get it fixed then we can do some more.
Then I went to the bank in Salem and deposited some checks. I came home and paid my bills and entered everything into Quicken. I'm trying so hard to stay on top of things.
I'm tired and ready for bed. I made barbecue chicken for dinner. It was so moist and yummy. I just stuck it in the oven and put sauce on it and baked it for 30 minutes. Maybe that's what made me tired. Cooking!! LOL
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for my three kids. I have been thinking about them all day and feel so blessed that they are mine. I love them all so much. It's good to be their mom....
Section 115 - Section 117 The part of my study today that I loved was where it says in the student manuel "When this gathering (Adam-ondi-Ahman) is held, the world will not know of it; the members of the Church at large will not know of it, yet it shall be preparatory to the coming in the clouds of glory of our Savior Jesus Christ as the Prophet Joseph Smith has said. The world cannot know of it. The Saints cannot know of it - except those who officially shall be called into this council - for it shall precede the coming of Jesus Christ as a thief in the night, unbeknown to all the world." So powerful.

Temple and Cannery

This morning I went to the Temple and did Initiatories while John drove Malachi back to his house. It was perfect timing. I just had time to take a couple of pictures and John was there to pick me up. I love this Nativity Scene in front of the Temple. So very beautiful.
I came home and got ready to go to the cannery. We are substituting for Brother McQueen. We were pretty busy with young couples doing their food storage. That is a good thing and makes me miss working at the cannery. I always enjoyed talking to people who were just starting out.
Now I am home. I'm going to finish this and go to bed. I am tired, but with good reason!!
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the Temple. I felt the Spirit very strong for one of the women I did work for. Katie Harris was her name and hope she has embraced this Sacred Work.
Section 114 - Section 115 In this short section the Lord tells us that if we don't do our callings he will put someone else in our place. Makes me want to always do my callings to the best of my ability even when I am tired of them. I must work on that!!

Winter Wonderland

I woke up to the snow plow going by. There was tons of snow on the ground. Molly had to jump through the snow to go potty. It really is her favorite thing. I did laundry today, studied my Scriptures, made beans and corn bread and  indexed some census and birth records from Wisconsin. I love to index. I have been doing for about 30 years. It was so different when we started. It was all done on cards and then put on a computer. It took forever to get a batch done. It has become so easy and fast. I really see Heaven Father's hand in this work. I took more cards over to Yvonne to take to Salt Lake for me. She has helped me get so much done. Especially the males. Thank goodness the Salt Lake Temple will let you turn in 10 names per week to have ordinances done.
My visiting teacher, Gwen came tonight to and gave me the message. Katherine didn't show up. She must have had something come up. It was fun to talk to Gwen. She is such a fun lady.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the Indexing program. I have had such wonderful experiences over the years as I have index and arbitrated records. I know it's truly Millennial work.
Section 113 - Section 114 This section talks about the Stem of Jesse being Christ and the root of Jesse being Joseph Smith. Very interesting.

Walking and Visiting Teaching

We got a call early this morning from a realtor that wanted to show our house at 10:30 am. So we all hustled and got it ready. Tommy, John and Malachi went to put up real estate signs and Molly and I went walking with Heather. We walked 4 times around the track with very little resting. We were both amazed at how easy it was. I thought I would have a really hard time but it was pretty easy. There is a lady there that must be in her 70's or 80's that walks 7 times around every day. She says she is trying to keep out of her rocking chair. Oh, and she rides her bike to the walking path and then walks and rides back home. What an inspiration! We also call her the treat lady because she always has dog biscuits in a fanny pack for the dogs. Molly didn't want her treat. Such a picky eater...
I came home and rested until it was time to go Visiting Teaching. I picked up Heather and we went to visit Liz. I love to visit with her. She is so interesting and fun to talk with.
I came home from that and studied my Scriptures for about an hour and now it's time to figure out dinner because I have home teachers coming at 6 pm.
After the home teachers left Tommy and I went down to watch Hailey play basketball. They lost by one point. It was a nail biter. So exciting.
Grateful Statement: Today I'm grateful for Molly who will walk right beside me anywhere I take her. She is sweet and fun.
Section 112 - Section 113  In the study guide it tells about the 12 apostles. Four of the 12 apostasized one being Thomas B Marsh who was the president of the twelve. It was a hard time for the church and the Prophet Joseph.

Doing Nothing Monday

We had our Presidency Meeting this morning. It was very good and we finalized all our things. I just so love to work with these ladies. We really have fun together.
I studied my Scriptures again today. I think it's becoming a habit and I like it.
I managed to make a banana cake with some bananas that had ripen too much to eat. I love when I can use up something. I think I get that from my mom. She always tried to use up what she had and not waste anything. We also had Taco Soup from the freezer and it was as good as the first time we ate it.
Some of Malachi's friends took him to the lights in Spanish Fork on the Golf Course. John took him down and brought him back. He has been working on his GED all day.
That's been my day. I have been a tad bit tired. Probably from traveling or I'm just lazy. It's probably the last one. Tomorrow I am going to be productive so I'm going to bed now to get plenty of rest.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for Relief Society today. What a wonderful organization Heavenly Father put on this earth for us.
Section 111 - Section 112 The thing that struck me was verse 9 where it talks about ancient inhabitants of Salem. That is where the ancestors of Joseph Smith immigrated too and it relates to genealogy. Something new I learned today.

Wonderful Sabbath

I went to church alone today as Tommy was too tired. It was good to be there. I wasn't as attentive as I needed to be. I think I was tired too and my back hurt to sit. But I made it through Sacrament and went home for Sunday School and went back for Relief Society. Kara taught the lesson on the Sacrament. It was very good. I will remember the suggestions on what to do to keep focus on the Savior during the Sacrament.
I came home and made Potato Soup. John and Malachi went skiing today so they might be hungry when they get home. I also studied my Scriptures. I get so much more understanding when I read the Student Guide.
I scanned these pages and cover from the Prep magazine of Hailey so I would have them forever. They are the Fall and Mid-Fall issues. I just hope we can read the print after my journal is printed out. A magnifying glass will probably help. Now I'm tired and need to rest.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my Savior. I am grateful that he atoned for my sins so I can be forgiven. What a gift!
Section 110 - Section 111  Because my heart belongs to Genealogy I love the part about the hearts of the children being turned to the fathers and the fathers to the children.

Back Home Again Once More

We went to Home Depot this morning and picked out some of the stuff for our addition. Then it was time for lunch. We went to a place in Ashton (I think) called Big Jud's and had hamburgers and the kids had Ice Cream. After we got home Tommy and I loaded up the car and Molly and headed out for Utah. I sorted out the kits I had downloaded and got them all organized. I also studied my Scriptures on the way home. We are now home and we are all glad that drive is over with, especially Molly.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for the early Saints that sacrificed so much for us.
Section 109 - Section 110  I was amazed that the early Saints were able to come up with $60,000 to $70,000 in 3 years time to build the Kirkland Temple. They went without to be able to donate more. What faithful Saints with very little money. This was so interesting especially all the Angels that the Saints saw in the Temple.

Moving Sold Horses

Harley spent all morning walking this little horse around to get used to her. She is so patient. They have sold her so off she goes to Highland. Her new home in Utah. I love to watch Harley take care of her horses. Harley, Scott and John left to go to Utah. John was ready to go home and Scott and Harley were delivering two horses and collecting some antler.
Janna and her dad spent the morning doing electrical work in the barn and I cleaned, studied my Scriptures and straightened up the house. We got the kids from school and went to an early dinner at Sizzler in Idaho Falls. I love their salad bars. We came home and settled in to watch The Closer, The Mentalist and CSI.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for this day. For happiness and contentment. I am blessed!!
Section 108 - Section 109  This section is about Lyman Sherman who was a witness to the things that took place at the Kirkland Temple.

Pack Meeting

Today was about the same as yesterday. I cleaned a little, studied my Scriptures, made Potato Soup for dinner, played Frontierville and that was it. After dinner I went with Austin to his Pack Meeting. He got a couple of rewards, played some games and decorated a Gingerbread Man. He also presented the flag in the flag ceremony. He really seemed to have fun. Janna and Scott had to go bowling. Now I'm tired and I'm going to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful that I was able to take Austin to his Pack Meeting.  It was fun to see him as a Scout.
Section 107 - Section 108  This entire section deals with the Priesthood. Where it came from, how it was organized, how it works in the wards, etc. Very interesting. I learned some things I wasn't aware of.

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

Cleaning Stalls

I did laundry, straightened up the house, made all the beds, cooked dinner, indexed, played Frontierville and made Chicken Casserole for dinner. I also studied and pondered my Scriptures.  It's my new habit. Maybe it will last. I have been happy and content today even though the sun didn't shine all day. John spent the day mucking out stalls. It looks like he is having fun. Now that's short and sweet and to the point.
Grateful Statement:  I am grateful for these 3 grandkids. They are sweet and good to their Grandma and Grandpa.
Section 106 - Section 107  Warren Cowdery was called to preside over the area where he lived. He did not remain faithful.  In the student manual it says "The Saints, on the other hand, should be prepared, expectant and joyful." That makes me know that we do not need to be afraid of the Second Coming.

Back to Idaho

We packed up our stuff and left at 11am to go to Rigby again. Here is Molly along for the ride. She can finally travel without getting sick. What a relief! It was a long drive. I indexed, studied my Scriptures and sorted some pictures for some pages. So it was a productive drive. I was tired and had a backache by the time I got to Janna. She had a crock pot of beans on so I made some corn bread.
Janna got home about 6:30 and she had a kid that was giving his mother grief so I rode with her over to his house. I waited in the car while she went in and took care of the kid. He was a big 16 year old and Janna finally had to call the Sheriff to take him to Juvenile Hall. He would rather do that than stay at home with mom. Dumb!! That took about an hour so now I'm home and blogging and getting ready to go to bed.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my sweet daughter Janna. She is such a good daughter to me. She is very thoughtful and kind to me. She makes me feel needed and loved. Don't we all need to feel that.
Section 105 - Section 106  I really studied this section today. The Saints couldn't live the law of consecration. I thought about the people that are homeless, live in apartments and will never be able to afford a house,in trailer, small houses, large houses and mansions. Wouldn't it be wonderful if it was all equal. If we all had sufficient for our needs.

Study and Ponder

I made myself a little study place in my living room. I have a very comfy chair with a hassock for my feet. It makes a perfect place to put my study guide and my Sciptures. I spent time today reading and pondering the Scriptures. I said I would and I did. Hooray for me!!
We had our Presidency meeting this morning and it was so productive. Everything just went together so smoothly we knew we were on the right track. It was good to get some things settled.
I went to the vet today and got Molly her car sick medicine for our trip to Idaho tomorrow. I am excited to go see Janna and the kids again. I really miss her.
I cleaned some and changed my sheets. I am playing Frontierville on Facebook and having fun doing it. I also index as much or more so I'm okay with it. I will get sick of it soon and then I'll be on to something else.  Tommy is really working hard to learn how to work his computer. He's a smart man so it won't be long before he has it all down.
Grateful Statement:  Today I am grateful for Lisa's lesson. I feel inspired to do better. I really think we all have room to improve. I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father that would show me what I need to be doing.
Section 104 - Section 105  This is what I pondered today. Everything I have belongs to the Lord, my house, car and everything I own. He has given them to me to use.

Amie's Helper

Check out Dean doing dishes for Amie so she could rest. What a sweet guy! Today was a very good day. It started out kind of down. This overcast weather plays havoc on my moods. It just makes me tired. But I went to church and listen to some pretty good Testimonies and  Sunday School lesson taught by David Tuckett. What a sweet man he is!
Lisa Bradshaw taught our Relief Society Lesson and it was marvelous. As she taught it I started feeling truly inadequate. It was all about feasting on the Scriptures. I read my scriptures every day and find something that stands out to me and I thought I was doing good. But as she taught the lesson I knew with all my heart that Heavenly Father was telling me to do better. I used to study every morning with the institute books and my Scriptures. I would read my scriptures and then read the institute book and make notes in my margins of my Scriptures. After I got home and really thought about what Lisa had taught and I realized it was exactly how I used to study so it was nothing new. So tomorrow I am going to start doing it right again. And I'm getting a notebook to write down the inspiration I gain.
After Church Tommy, John, Malachi and I went to Dean and Amie's for Cafe Rio Salad. It was yummy and we had a wonderful Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream. They Dean did the dishes for Amie. How sweet was that. It turned out to be a wonderful day.
Grateful Statement:  Today I am grateful for my son Dean. He is so good. I love that he has such great faith in Heavenly Father and that he is a righteous husband, father and son. I am amazed that he is my son. How in the world did I become so blessed. He truly makes my heart sing...
Section 103 - Section 104  I love verse 9 where it says, "For they are set to be a light unto the world, and to be the saviors of men."  I hope I can always be a light unto the world.

Christmas Spirit

I'm getting the Christmas Spirit. It is coming on slowly but surely. All my lights and my tree help.
Today I balanced my checkbook and paid all remaining bills. What a job. I made my last payment to Blue Cross because they are raising my rates again in January so I'm done with them. It has more than doubled since I signed up with them.
Then I made an Apple Crisp dessert for the Allen's and took it over. I almost forgot I was supposed to do it but I got out my apple peeler and my Cuisinart and went to town. I had it in the oven baking in 20 minutes.  I talked with Cody at the door. He seems to be doing pretty good. I just told him how much we would all miss his mom.
Malachi and John rode Dean's 4 wheeler today and had a good time. They are going to watch some movie they rented from Redbox. I love having him her on the weekends. He is just so sweet and tells me he loves me all the time. How was I so blessed to have such a great grandson.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for the power of prayer that will give you peace just when you need it. Isn't Heavenly Father the best!!
Section 102 - Section 103  This chapter tells how the council works. I didn't know that there were men assigned to the person who they were holding court on to "prevent insult and injustice".

Tommy and His New Computer

I walked one time around the track today but it was so slick and slushy I decided it wasn't such a good idea. But I did go once so that's a start back. I also cleaned house and paid bills.
Tommy has been saving up his money to buy a computer. Here he is with his new one and also his new dime store glasses. He is all set to learn.
John and I went to American Fork and got Malachi to stay the weekend with us. I found some White Out Mountain Dew at Macy's for him so he's a happy camper.
Tommy and I went to Hailey's basketball game. It was so exciting and they won. Those girls can really play. Such talent they have. That's my day...
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my hubby. Maybe I can get him indexing on his brand new computer.
Section 101 - Section 102  I just can't imagine how hard it was for the Saints as they were driven from there homes. How they must have suffered.

Canning with Amie and Whit

This morning I went to the cannery with Amie and Whitney. Whit worked so hard and I think she had fun. I bought flour already canned and some bulk stuff. It was good to see Brother Banks again. He is such a nice man.
Then I came home and made phone calls for Roxan's family. They will probably have her funeral on Monday. Lots of people really loved her and she will be missed. She made the most beautiful quilts.
Then I went to Hannah basketball game at 4pm. I wish I would have remembered to bring my camera.  She is so cute out there. It was a totally exciting game. Just back and forth the whole time.
I came home and are leftover Spaghetti for dinner and now I think it's time for my bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the cannery and how helpful they are. It's good that Heavenly Father provides us with it.
Section 100 - Section 101  I love the way the Lord tells Sidney and Joseph that their families will be okay. He cares so much about each one of us.

Little Doggie Lost

I had a little scare this afternoon when Molly went missing. We looked all over for her and she was down by Dean's big garage just where John had lost her. We were relieved to see her cute little face.
I organized my food storage room this morning, downloaded my new monthly kit from Scrap Girls, which took forever because there are so many files, indexed some records and worked on the rest of my laundry.
I made Tommy a steak dinner with baked yams and salad. It's our anniversary so I thought it would be nice to cook him dinner. Aren't I such a nice wife. I was going to make him fudge but I just couldn't get up the energy to do it. Maybe tomorrow.
Now I'm done for the day and ready to snuggle under the covers.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Molly. She is so much fun and loves us all to pieces. It's nice to have a pet.
Section 99 - Section 100  This section is all about calling John Murdock on his mission.
