Starting WW Again

 My Breakfast

 My Lunch

My Dinner

Pulled Pork

Ruth and I decided yesterday that we needed to get back on Weight Watchers and stick with it. We are going to take a picture of what we eat each meal and message it to each other. It really helps me think about what I am eating.
I started cleaning my closet today. It isn't a one day job, that's for sure. But it needs to be done so I started taking everything out and folding, sorting and giving to DI.
I didn't visit Tommy so I could just keep plugging away at it. I also scrapped a page without a Quick Page for my Albums. I couldn't remember how to clip the picture to the Template and had to call Heather.

Gracie and Her Walker

It was fun to scrapbook again using kits and elements. I have lots of pages to go but I know I will succeed. Time for bed!
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today for my cousin Ruth. We are truly Kindred Spirits. She is such a blessing to me.

She Loves Her Barbies

 Her Collection

 Cheesy Smile

Bathing with Barbies

Gracie loves to play with her Barbies. She spends hours playing with them. And she loves to sit in my laundry baskets and play with her toys.
We went to visit Papa again and took him some Dr. Pepper and Mounds Bars. I think I spoil him too much.
I made Turkey Enchiladas for dinner with the left over Turkey from Thanksgiving. They were pretty yummy. And I only have enough Turkey left to make Turkey Noodle Soup. I am getting a little tired of Turkey. Soon it will be a thing of the past!
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for this little kids that brings such joy into my life. I am blessed beyond measure.

Physical Therapy

 Catching

 Batting

 Waiting

Chasing
Gracie and I went to visit Grandpa. As we were going down the hall to Papa's room he was coming down the hall with his walker to go to Physical Therapy. Gracie hopped on his walker and away she went. I took Tommy's clothes and stuff to his room and decided I best go find the kid. She was in the Physical Therapy room with Papa. The therapist had Gracie help Tommy put a puzzle together and then he blew up this pink balloon so she could bat it back and for. She had so much fun with her Papa and when we got back to the room she just kept playing with it.
We came home and I started on book work for Janna. I had to do payroll and pay taxes. But now it's done.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the therapy they are giving Tommy. It is helping him so much. Blessing come in a different sizes!!

Taking a "Me" Day

Gracie went to Preschool today so I had the whole day to myself. I didn't go visit Tommy, I just stayed home and did whatever I wanted to do for the day. It was a much needed rest from all the taking care of Gracie and Tommy.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for peaceful restful days such as this one. I am so blessed to have this time to rest. Blessing abound!!

Klaus

Klaus

Janna got a drug dog from Texas. AJ had to go for two weeks to work with him before he could bring him home. He is very hyper, which is what they want them to be, so he just mows Gracie down. She doesn't like him very much. It has helped Janna's rehab place so much because they know that Klaus will find any drugs they try to bring in.
Today Gracie and I went to church. They had a homecoming for one of the young men in our ward. There were lots of people there to hear him talk. We went to Primary and Connie taught the class. I was so tired by the time we got through that I could hardly walk. Gracie was very good so it made it easier.
We came home and I went to visit Tommy in Promontory Point. My home teacher met me there and gave us a lesson. It was good.
Then I came home and worked on genealogy. Now I'm going to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for Church. I love the talks and the songs and especially the Sacrament. I am blessed!

Texas Road House

 Gracie and Janna

 Austin

Bailee

 Janna and AJ

My Tommy Dean

Dean and Amie got up and took off to see Tommy and get down the road. I am just grateful for any amount of time I get to spend with them
I did genealogy all morning and made Banana Nut Muffins. Then Janna and AJ took me shopping with them and then to Texas Road House. After dinner we went to see Tommy. He was doing good. Only one more week and he is coming home. Wahoo
After we got home I started doing more genealogy. I just can't stop when I start. I guess it's a good thing. And I made another batch of Peanut Butter Fudge for Janna. We all love it!
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to find people and get their work done for them. I love doing it and I know they are waiting for someone to do it for them.

Dean and Family Came

 The Beginning

Amie is Coloring with Gracie

Dean, Amie and Hayden decided to come up for the night to visit Tommy. What a dutiful son. It was pretty funny to see them with just one kid. I asked him how it felt to be the only one left at home. He smiled his cute smile and said " I like it".
I changed the sheets and straightened up my house and started doing Genealogy. I have begun to print out cards as I find these people.
Dean didn't get here until around 8:30. He stopped to see his dad and watched a basketball game with him. Tommy loves to watch sports, especially with his kids. I had to get this picture of Amie coloring with Gracie. She loves her Aunt Amie.
We talked for awhile and then we all went to bed. I was still tired from cooking all the Turkey stuff.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for Dean and his family. They are truly a blessing to me.

Turkey Day

 Gracie Blowing Bubbles

Papa Is Home For Dinner

I spent the day making rolls, cooking turkey and all the sides. Janna went and got Tommy for me today so he could come home and have dinner with us. He is doing really good.
The dinner was delicious even if I do say so myself. Janna and AJ took Tommy back this evening. He has one more week and them he gets to come home. This time it will be for a long time.
I downloaded Roots Magic on my new computer and signed up for Ancestry so I can start doing genealogy again. I know there are people that need their work done. So off I go hunting dead people.
Gracie found her bubbles and went out on the patio to have some fun. She is so cute.
Grateful Statement: I am so THANKFUL for my life. I am so blessed with the family I have and the Gospel that guides my life.

Going to Walmart Ugh

I clean my kitchen, folded laundy and paid Stewards bills. That took me all morning. Then I jumped into the shower and left to visit with Tommy. He was in therapy when I got there so I waited in his room until he finished. I visited awhile and then it was off to Walmart. What a mob. But I found all the stuff I needed.
When I got home Janna was still in terrible pain. She has two bulging discs in her back and a torn muscle on her spine. She is miserable. I did the dishes so she would relax. She likes a clean house and all the kids were working. Trevor Neville and Preston Floyd came over tonight and gave her a blessing.
Now it's time for me to relax and watch some "Bull". I love that show.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for Blessings that are given when we need them. And I am grateful for the wonderful men who give them.

Peanut Butter Fudge

Peanut Butter Fudge

I need a new candy thermometer. I don't think my fudge was cooked long enough. It is delicious but very soft and sticky. But the family liked it. I made White Chicken Chile for dinner.
I had to put all the sibling into My Tree on Family Search for Poley and Sandy. I am trying to print a card out to do the work for Jimmy. Wally gave permission for Kenny to do the work for him. Because I didn't have Kimmy and Wally listed as his sibling they couldn't establish a relationship between Wally and Jimmy. I had to go into Family Search and put them in. Now they will let me print out a card. So tomorrow that is my #1 job.
I didn't go to visit Tommy today. Just had to have a day off. I called him a couple of times and he called me so that just had to do today.
I did some bookwork for Janna. That's been my day.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for Genealogy. I know it is so important. I am blessed to have been able to do it for My family, Tommy family, Smokey's family and Johnny's dad and his family.

Harley is Here

Harley, Gracie and the Dogs

I went to see Tommy today. I made a video that I posted to Instagram. I am trying to learn how to do it. I love to see the stuff my grandkids put on. So I thought I'd give it a try.
I brought clothes for Tommy and put them all away. I had to go to Walmart and get some stuff that Tommy needed. I just kept saying "Ox in the mire".
After Harley's plane landed Janna brought her, Gracie and AJ to the rehab center to see Tommy. I just love that Harley is back. We had fun visiting and then they were off.
I left Tommy to go home and Janna called me to get Gracie so she could go to the ER. She had a terrible back ache. I pick Gracie up in the parking lot of Cal Ranch and took her home. We pretty much hung out and did nothing all evening.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for this granddaughter of mine. She is such a hard worker and so dependable. We are blessed to have her in our family.

Promentory Pointe

Rehab Center

I went to the hospital this morning to wait for the Rehab Center to come and take Tommy. He was having a really hard time and so discouraged. After they took him over to the Center he was weighed and had to stand up to do it. He did so well. They laid him down in bed and gave him orders to not get up on his own. I left to go to the market to get him some Root Beer, Three Musketeers and some bottled water. When I got back they told me he had gotten up in the bathroom and to tell him not to do it. I was elated. He actually got up on his own. When I got into his room he was sitting in the recliner watching TV. I did make him promise me he would not get up on his own for now. Now whether he will listen or not is another matter. It made me realize just how worried I was that he would never get better. Now I am feeling so hopeful.
I came home and made "Lemon Chicken Quinoa Soup" for my dinner. It is so delicious. Then I got a text from Janna that she needed a treat and wanted Gracie to ask me. What a daughter. I made Brownie's and a loaf of Banana Nut Bread. That the treats for the night. Then I cleaned up my kitchen and sat down to relax for the evening.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for all the answer to prayers. I learned an important lesson about waiting for Heavenly Fathers time and not mine to answer prayers. I am so Blessed!!

Bud's Gone On His Last Ride To Heaven

My Sweet Cousin Buddy

I looked at Facebook this morning and saw this picture that Frankie had posted with a beautiful message that he has passed away and was taking his last ride. I was so glad he came over to Johnnie's when I was there and we could talk and I could get my last fantastic hug from him. He was 80 years old and still riding his horse. He got a virus in his lungs and was gone in a week. It was such a shock. It just goes to show that when Heavenly Father wants us he will take us home. What a reunion in Heaven with his father that had died when he was 2 and my Grandma that raised him. It did made me sad though all day long.
Gracie and I went to the hospital to visit her Papa. She doesn't have much patience with hospitals so we didn't stay very long. She did like the little car that took us from our car in the parking lot to the front door. And she really liked to ride up and down in the elevators and push the buttons. Thank goodness Tommy is understanding and didn't mind that we couldn't stay. I did find the Social Worker and told her what Rehab facility the would take him to tomorrow. The same one he went to before.
We came home and I made Spaghetti and Garlic Bread for dinner. We watched Madagascar, Valiant and Beauty and the Beast all afternoon. I did laundry and worked on my scrapping.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the Plan of Salvation. It is such a comfort to know where Buddy is going and who is there to greet him. The Gospel blesses my life everyday.

Breakfast With Connie

My Kombucha Maker
 Letter to Santa

I went to Breakfast with Connie this morning. It was fun to go and talk adult talk. We have tried to go once a month and we both had a super busy summer so we haven't been in a while.
Janna had Gracie because she had to go to the ENT to have her tubes in her ears removed. They were sitting in her ear canal. They removed the tubes and said to bring her back in 6 months. So that's what we will do for our little Gracie.
Gracie wrote a letter to Santa and listed all the toys she would like for Christmas. She is so funny. She got a envelop to mail it in and had me put her name on it so Santa would know it was from her.
I also got my Kombucha crock and bottles to put it in. Now I am ready to start Tuesday when my SCOBY is ready. I can't wait!!
I made sandwiches for dinner. Wow! That took lots of effort. Then I spent the night going thru all the pages for Gracie's books. Of course, I found a couple of duplicates that messes up the way the double pages fit so I will fix that.
Bedtime, so I'm going to gets some sleep.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful that Connie and I are team teachers. She is such a good friend. Blessing happen in my life all the time.

Visiting Tommy

 Dentist Office
 Sunbeams
 Dress Up
 Shopping at Winco
 Becca and Kathy
Cupcakes

Today I got up and got my shower and went to visit Tommy. I saw two of his doctors and they still don't know what's wrong with him. I left to run home and get my computer so I could scrapbook while I sat there. 6 more pages for Gracie's books. So far I have 5 books completed and working on #6. Each book has 60 pages so I have been busy.
I know my way around the hospital now. I took a lot of walks in between scrapping. I know where to get my Diet Dr. Pepper and treats. I stayed until about 3:30 and left to go home and do some housework.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my computer that keeps me from going stir crazy. Blessing abound.

ER Again

This morning was without incident. Gracie played with her dolls and I got ribs rubbed for cooking and potatoes washed and wrapped in foil for baking and lettuce washed and spun for a salad. Which in the end all went awry.
Tommy started having tons of pain in his hip and had to go to the hospital. Janna and AJ came home from work and we got Tommy in the car, which constituted carrying him to the car in a chair and hoisting him in the passenger seat, while he was moaning in pain.
They took a biopsy of the swelling on his hip but couldn't figure it out. So they admitted him to the hospital until they find out what's wrong.
AJ drove Janna, Gracie and me home. I called my friend Crystal on the way to the hospital to see if she could turn off my oven for me. I had forgotten to turn it off and the potatoes were in it. I didn't really want to come home to burnt potatoes. I had one rack of ribs ready for the oven that I had pressured before I left. I finished them so Austin would had food when he came home from work.
Then I put Gracie to bed and sat down to watch "Bull".
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful that Tommy is in the hospital so they can control his pain. What a blessing Doctors and Hospitals are in our life.

Back To The Land of The Living

Gracie and Her Play Dough

Kombucha Starter

I spent the morning in my chair but by the afternoon I started feeling really well. I do believe I am ready to go again.
Gracie had a runny nose so she stayed home from Preschool. She spent the day playing with her Play Dough and watching The Lion Guard. She was very good.
I worked a little organizing my scrapbooking. I am almost caught up on Gracie's books so I can start doing real scrapbooking and not just Quick Pages.
When Austin came home he brought in two packages. One was my journal for 2016 that I had sent in to be printed. And the second package was my Kombucha kit. I started re hydrating my SCOBY so when the rest of my order comes I will be ready to start making it.
I called my dear friend Debbie to see how she was doing. It was so good to hear her voice. She is doing well and works at the Sacramento Temple. I have to figure a way to visit her. It's good to have friends that know you from way back. We have history, lots of history.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my friend Debbie. I am blessed to have know her since I was very young. She is truly a Daughter of God.

Staying Home From Stake Conference

I stayed in my chair all day feeling like my head was stuffed with cotton. It was Stake Conference so I didn't have to teach the Sunbeams. I didn't even cook dinner. And I didn't care what anyone ate.
Working on my scrapbooking off and on filled my day.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the Gospel in my life. It keeps me grounded and doing what I should.

MRI

I took Tommy to Mountain View Hospital this morning so he could have an MRI on his hip. I waited outside in a little waiting room and what a racket was coming out of the room he was in. So Noisy!
We went to Broulim's on the way to pick up Tommy's new pain meds.  I picked up some Kombucha in the Health Food department. I am not really crazy for the taste but I am going to keep trying it to see if I can like it.
I spent the rest of the day in my chair taking naps and playing Candy Crush on my Ipad. I will be so glad when this cold starts going away.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for Doctors and Hospitals. We are blessed to live in a time when they are available to us.

Dry Canning

Dry Pack Canning

 Gracie and her Toys

Gracie played with her toys all day. At one point she had a line all through the family room into the kitchen. So being as most of her toys were all over the house I decided we would organize her toy shelves. We got it all done so now it's not a big mess.
Then I canned the popcorn that Kathy had brought me when she came to visit. The cannery doesn't sell cans anymore and they don't have canners so I just can them in 1/2 gallon Mason jars. It works perfect.
By the end of the day I knew I had gotten Gracie's cold. Seven days of misery and I will be just fine. I didn't even make dinner. Just too tired.
I did scrapbook some more pages for Gracie's book.
When I went to bed I looked at Instagram and saw that Hailey had surgery on her knee. She is so beautiful even when she is in recovery.
Grateful Statement: I am so very grateful for this little kid I get to watch. She is such a blessing in my life.

Doctor Again UGH!

Kombucha Here I Come

Tommy had to go to Dr. West for his hip today. He will have a MRI Saturday to see if he tore a muscle or what happened. I just hope they find out what has happened so he can get out of pain.
And I am soooo tired of Doctors Offices.
And (Drum Roll Please) I learned how to extract a picture from a video on my COMPUTER. Now I don't have to worry about removing them from my phone. Some events I only have a video so now I can extract frames and make pages for Gracie's books.
Chef Brad has been teaching Ruth and Ethel how to make Kombucha. He says it's totally healthy so I am going to try it. I ordered the stuff to make it and the crock to put it in. Now we wait for it all to come.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for all my many blessings. I feel so loved by Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. I am blessed to feel their love.

More Canning

Gracie and Papa

Bailee and Gracie

I canned another 14 quarts of beans this morning. It seems to take forever. Then it was on to payroll and paying bills for Stewards of Recovery. I did something wrong and ended up having to void 6 payroll checks. But I got it done.
Gracie always has Papa push her around the house with his walker. He gives her a ride whenever she asks. What a good Papa he is.
Then I made Chicken Bundles for dinner with gravy. It's pretty yummy. Gracie liked it. She was so sweet and good today. I do believe she is growing up. She dresses herself and tries to comb here hair.
I scrap booked a couple more pages today but I need to finish them tomorrow.
Now it's time for bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so blessed to get to help raise this little munchkin. And for my Bailee. She is so sweet and kind to Gracie. I am blessed to have such wonderful grandkids.

Learning New Things and More Canning

Screen Shot

 Cropped

14 Quarts Done

I started canning beans this morning. I have 2 more batches and then I am done with beans. Then I need to can Chicken and I will be done and can put my shiny canners away. I am not going to put my canners away until my shelves are stocked.
Gracie played with her toys all day and was such a good little girl. Papa took her for a ride in his walker so he is feeling better. His hip still hurts but he can get around.
I made Stir Fry for dinner with Rice. I tried to not put salt or too much Soy Sauce. It didn't taste as good as it usually does. I am trying had to not eat salt.
I also learned to take a screen shot from a video and crop it in Adobe Elements. Now I can get pictures from videos and make scrap pages. I love to learn new things.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today that I was able to accomplish things. I love my Heavenly and Jesus Christ. I am so grateful that I know them and that they love me.

What A Day

 Canning Beans

 Gracie At The Doctor

 Brave Girl

 Poor Tommy

Janna and Gracie

I started off this day good. I canned 14 quarts of beans, imput all the charges in my checking account, paid our tithing, and worked on scrapbooking. Tommy went to Therapy for his hip. He called me and said he wouldn't be able to to grocery shopping for me because he had hurt his hip in therapy. When he got home he had to honk so I could help him get his leg out of the car. I gave him a bowl of soup and he went to his chair in the bedroom. He had went shopping for me anyway and had to ask someone to help him get his leg in the car. How sweet was that to go shopping anyway.
Gracie came home with Austin crying that her ear hurt. So it was off to Community Care to see a Doctor. Yep she has an ear infection. So now she is on an antibiotic.
While I was getting ready to leave the doctor's office Janna called me to say she had called an ambulance for her dad because her and AJ couldn't get him up out of the chair and he was in terrible pain. The ambulance came and took him to ERMAC. The ER doctor thought it was out of the socket and had Xrays taken. But they didn't show anything so finally he was able to go home.
Trevor and Hugh Steiger came to the hospital and gave him a blessing. I make scrambled eggs and toast for him when we got home and settled him in his chair and he seems to be doing better.
Now I'm tired and I am going to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for Blessing. I know they work and I know Heavenly Father loves Tommy and wants him to get better.

Beautiful Sabbath

Someone posted this on Facebook. I love it!!!

Gracie and I went to church today. I taught the lesson on the Sacrament to the kids. We had lots of fun playing Sacrament games and talking about Jesus. These little ones are pretty smart.
I came home and worked on Genealogy for awhile. I called Kenny to see if he would talk with Wally about having Jimmy's work done. We need his permission. I also printed out pedigree sheets for Johnnie. I talked with him today and he seemed pretty good. He is still losing weight. That worries me. But it was good to talk with him.
Gracie spent the afternoon playing and eating. She must be ready to grow.
I also messaged the mom's of the preschool kids and told them I was pulling Gracie out. It just seems to be a conflict with times. So I decided it was a stress that I didn't need.
I also spent some time getting pages ready for Gracie's book.
Now it's time for me to hug my pillow. I think I am tired for Daylight Savings.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for this statement by Jeffrey R. Holland. It gives me such peace to know that I am surrounded by help from the other side.

Lazy Day

Lunch Yesterday I made a Keto Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole for dinner. AJ liked it but not Janna. Oh well. So today I had it for lunc...
