Saved a Chicken, I'm a Hero

I just couldn't sleep last night. Might be the alergy meds I took but I am feeling it today. I went out to give the chickens old lettuce and stuff from my fridge and as I walked thru the barn I say a chicken stuck up in the horse feeder. She had her wings inbetween the bars and couldn't get out. I don't know how long she had been there but she wasn't looking very good. I pulled her out and of course, she had to protest and flap her wings all over me. So I was a hero today to that old hen. Maybe she'll lay me a big, pretty egg today.
I am making the potato soup I was going to make yesterday but I was too hot and tired. I can think of a million excuses when I really don't want to do something. So today is the day. I have chopped all my ingredients and now I'm going to peel potatoes and make bread to go with it. It's the kids last day home and they love bread so I'm going to make it for them.
Tommy figured out what was wrong with the lights and got them all changed over to what the requirements are. Now he has to change all the outside eave outlets to GFI. I am almost positive that no electricution will be going on in this house. The best is the washer outlet. Do they really think the washer is going to jump into the sink and fry me, or maybe it's the dreaded dryer that is going to run amuck and get me. You have to laugh or you'll cry and I prefer laughing...
Dinner done, dishes done, computer cord ordered, now time to vegetate. Janna is visiting after work and we are going to watch "The Closer".
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for my Kitchen Aide Mixer. I love how it mixes everything so nice. I love how it made my foccacia bread tonight and I never touched the dough except to take it out of the pan. I love that I gave it to my mom and dad years ago and inherited it back. It is a piece of my mom and dad that I get to look at and remember, my dad making cakes in it, my mom making her famous rolls for dinners. I love it and I'm grateful for it.

Computer Cord Gone

My computer cord quit working today and so I won't be able to put pictures on until I get a new one. And trying to make sure you get the right one is such a pain. I finally ask Janna if she would research it and find me one. I am using Tommy's computer that doesn't have a SD slot so no pictures unless my camera has a cord to download thru USB ports. What a pain. I checked and it doesn't have one. Oh well, one more thing to figure out.
The inspector came today and Tommy has to fix a few things. The requirements for Idaho are different. So he is trying to get all that fixed so we can call for another inspection. So stressful for Tommy.
Bailee and I went to the market so I could get some bacon for Potato Soup. Then I was too hot and tired to make it so tomorrow will be soup day. I helped the kids with their chores, watering trees and gathering eggs. Austin and I went to gather eggs and of course the baby goats got out of the pen. Austin didn't close the gate all the way so I became a goat herder. What fun we have on this little farm...
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for my mom. She was really on my mind today. I thought about her all day and how much I miss her. I am so grateful that we were so close all our lives. She truly was my very best friend. She was the one I called if I was sad or upset and she would always make me feel better. I just can't wait to see her again.

Saturday and Sunday All In One

Something is amiss in my washer. It's Janna's towels and we DID NOT put any soap in them. Unless I've lost my mind. Um, could be. We had to wash and rinse this load 3 times to get all the soap out of them. It was great entertainment for us. Almost better than a drive in movie. LOL
Saturday was a very busy day. We did Janna laundry using both our washers and dryers. She had a ton from being gone to Utah. Janna and I took the kids shopping for school supplies. I can't believe all the stuff each kid needs for each class. How do parents with a lot of kids do this. We went to Walmart and loaded up. Then we headed to Staples for backpacks and then to Famous Footwear for Bailee's shoes. Then it was on to Winco for groceries. On the way home we stopped at 5 buck Pizza and got pizza for dinner. We were way too tired to cook.
Harley is training her goat for a goat show. With graham crackers, go figure. What a pretty goat. And I never thought there were cute goats in the world until Harley got her little fainting goats.

On Sunday Bailee, Austin and I went to church. It was a very long Sacrament Meeting. The Missionary assigned to our ward talked and they were pretty loooong talks. The Ward Mission Leader also talked so the Bishop gave him a little extra time. Then it was off to Sunday School and Relief Society. My neighbor Denise taught the lesson on Revelation. It was good with lots of participation from the sisters. Then is was relaxing time. I took a little nap and them Bailee and I made Carmel Corn and Popped Corn with Marshmellows melted on them. They were pretty good. Carmel is still my favorite.

Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for the gospel. Church always makes me so aware of what a wonderful blessing it is in my life. I guess that's why Heavenly Father wants us to go!

Ready for Final Electrical

Today I was so tired and it was so hot I didn't accomplish much. I did go online and set up a final inspection for our electrical with the State for Monday. We'll see how much trouble we get into for living in our house before we have a final.
I made breaded and fried zuchinni for Tommy and I for lunch. It was so good. I loved it. I used parmesean cheese mixed in with the bread crumbs. So good fried in Olive Oil.
For dinner we went to Mexican food. I just didn't have it in me to heat up my kitchen. It only gets hot from about 4 to 7, but it just drains me.
Now I'm very tired and I'm going to bed. Bailee had a late night at Marissa house and just got home. Of course, she has to come over and tell me how much fun she had. Such a cute kid, and Austin spent the evening with me watching cooking shows. I'm sure he was bored to death but I made him popcorn so he was happy. I just love my grandkids. All of my grandkids. I do miss the Utah ones even though I didn't see them much when I lived there I always knew they were just down the street. I need to clone myself and then I could be by all of them.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for the cool evening air that comes through my windows. I just always make me happy and content.

Do Nothing Day

I had a pretty laid back day. I went visiting teaching to Denise and took Marissa and Bailee to Deseret Books to get their journals. I spent the afternoon trying to stay awake. I was tired today.
I made biscuits, eggs and gravy for dinner. We have so many eggs around here I need to use them up. I watched "The Barefoot Contesta Cooking Show" today and she made what she called scones. They looked like biscuits to me so I followed her method for my mom's biscuit recipe and they were wonderful. Crunchy on the bottom and soft and flaky inside. That's how I'm making them from now on. I used my Kitchen Aid to mix the dough. I love to watch cooking shows. It makes me want to get in the kitchen and cook for these people around here. It was fun doing something different.
I did all the dishes and spent the evening watching TV. Now I'm going to bed and get my beauty sleep. I need lots of that.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for being a visiting teacher today. I was fun to visit Denise. I couldn't get ahold of my partner so I went alone again. I think I need a new one that wants to be a visiting teacher.

Working on Personal Progress

Marissa came over this morning and her and Bailee worked on Personal Progress. They read the entire "Proclamation to the World" and answered questions. I have made a deal with Bailee. If the two of them complete four requirements I will take them to get a new Journal to write in. They worked all morning on it until Marissa had to go school shopping. Isn't this just the cutest picture.

I pulled out my electric pressure cooker today and made barbecued spareribs and chicken. It took 9 minutes to cook them. I put barbecue sauce on them and kept them warm until time for dinner. I love my pressure cooker. I also made mashed potaotes and gravy with sauted zuchinni my neighbor brought down to me. I did laundry today as usual. Tommy worked on the cover for my vent pipe above my cabinet. In Idaho you have to have your microwave vented to the outside.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the Young Women's program. What an inspired program.

Cleaning Floors

I spent the morning cleaning my floors. I moved all my furniture and used my Shark and them the Bella wood care kit. I am trying to figure out how to keep my floors shiny and clean instead of streaked. I'll figure it out one of these days.
Bailee decided she didn't want to go to YW because they were working on Personal Progress. She said if she could stay home she would work on it with her friend Marissa. So I said that would be fine and if she worked on it she wouldn't feel so bad about going. Her and Marissa worked on a couple of values and interviewed me. So I left and took Austin to Scouts. When I came back there was a van in the driveway. I went into Janna's and asked her who was in the driveway. She said it was Bailee's leader, she came over to see if Bailee needed a ride. Bailee was so excited to go with her leader and I think it helped that she had worked on something. Heavenly Father is very mindful of her.
Bailee and I made some fudge. We overcooked it so we couldn't put it in the pan so we just put it in pieces. It was delicious. Bailee loves to cook with her grandma. And her grandma likes to cook with her. She said we should open up a restaurant when she gets old and I should save my money. How cute is that!!
That's been my day.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for a Heavenly Father that loves my little Bailee so much. He know her name and what she needs.

Bread Making Today

I got up this morning and fed all the animals for Harley. She spent the night with Nanny and Papa, Ron's mom and dad. I made bread this morning. Four loaves of delicious bread. And I made rice pudding for Tommy. Too much cooking. But it did feel good to make bread.
I made Taco's for dinner tonight and did the dishes and now it's time to watch "The Closer". So that's been my day.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my bread maker. My mom bought it for me when we lived in Provo for my birthday. I think of her when I use it. I wish she was here to help me make bread.

Sunday Morning Sickness Has Struck

I woke up this morning with a headache that felt like my head was stuffed with cotton, sneezing and just feeling bad. Thank goodness Ron took the kids to visit his mom and dad who are coming up from Price today so I wouldn't feel bad about not taking them to church. Janna is still not all that wonderful so she is doing her inhaling thing. I am going to index today and hopefully that will make up for staying home from church. But truly, I knew it would be miserable if I tried to go.
In the afternoon I started feeling kind of down and melancholy so I decided to go grind my wheat so I could make bread in the morning for the kids. I started out in my kitchen and forgot to put a sponge in the top of the bowl so it started shooting flour out. I got that fixed and then as I was trying to take off the lid to see how much wheat was left to grind the ring came off and wheat went everywhere. I thought "this is what you get when you try to do something on the sabbath". I knew I should have ground my wheat in the garage but I didn't have my set up like in Elk Ridge. So out to the garage I went and Janna helped me set up this table and get me going. I was able to grind all the wheat I had in glass jars and then I used them to put the flour in and put it in my freezer. Approximately 96 cups of wheat are ready for some serious wheat bread. Janna's kids love my wheat bread so it will be fun to make it.

Janna and I went for a walk around the block again last night. She brought a badminton racket to beat up the two dogs that snarl at us and try to get us. But of course they weren't out. Dang it!! I wanted to see her take them on.
I fed all the animals with Janna and now it's time to rest and go to bed.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my wheat grinder. As I was grinding my wheat I was so grateful that I didn't have to do it by hand like the pioneers. I am blessed...

Scooters are So Much Fun

Today Janna, Bailee, Austin and I went to Idaho Falls to go shopping for school clothes. We went to Rue 21 (I think that is what it is called) and got lots of clothes for the kids for very little moolah. What a great place to shop for school clothes.
Janna had gone to the doctor this morning and the doctor said she had burned her lungs with cleaning products because there was nothing in them but they really hurt. She gave Janna a breathing treatment and that seemed to help. She prescribed a steroid and a breathing treatment for her.
This evening Janna, Bailee and I went for a walk around the block. It was so good for me to take a walk. Especially after I made Carmel Ice Cream topping for the kids and of course I had to have some too! I wish I had an ounce of will power but I think it is lost somewhere . After our walk Bailee went and got her bunny Whiskers and brought him out on the lawn. The kitties didn't know what to think of a bunny. They followed this bunny everywhere he went.

Here is Janna riding Austin's Scooter down the street. She is feeling so much better and she sounds better. Meds are good things.
Here is the face of Austin because he had to let his sister ride his scooter. So very cute!
And Bailee in her pajamas bottoms riding down the street.
That has been my day. A very good one...
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my wonderful kitchen that I get to cook in.

Cookies, Cookies and More Cookies

Bailee and Austin helped grandpa rake rock from the front yard. Austin didn't stick around for the final hour but he worked hard when he was around. Bailee worked with her grandpa so he wouldn't have to work so hard.
In the afternoon I made Chocolate Chip Cookies for Austin and then Bailee wanted to make Amish Sugar Cookies. So she used my kitchen to make her good cookies. My kitchen had cookie stuff from one end to another.
Janna was really sick. Her chest hurt and her voice sounded bad. She spent the day trying to rest and get better.
That's about all I remember about this day.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for this wonderful family I get to live with. What would I do without my kids.

Janna and Harley Have Returned

Janna and Harley came home today. It is nice to have them back. I don't know what I did today. Must of been a whole lot of nothing. I did take Bailee to DI so she could see what they had. I don't like it because you find something cute and it's never your size and you can't find your size in that cute thing. I'll stick to Penney's.
I made a pot of Pinto's for dinner and then was too lazy to make corn bread. I did do laundry and house work somewhat. That's all I can remember.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today that I was able to not do much and didn't have to go to work.

Harley Is Going to Utah

I got up this morning and woke up Harley and we went out and fed. She showed me what to do to feed for her while she is in Utah visiting her mom. She is going to ride back home with Janna. After we finished feeding I took her to Bob's Quick Stop to catch her bus. She left at 9:50 and would arrive at the Marriott Center at 3:20 were Janna picked her up. She was excited to go see her mom.
I came home and made some yummy Almond Poppy Seed Muffins. They turned out very good, especially the muffin tops I made. I had enough batter left over to make six of them. They were crunchy around the edges and so good. I keep trying to find a good muffin recipe and I think I found a good one. The kids loved them too. And for dinner I made Chicken Nuggets in the oven. They kids really loved them. Austin even came back and warmed up some to eat before he went to bed.
After all this cooking I had a bunch of dishes to do tonight. After Tommy and I fed the animals he took Bailee to YW and I picked her up after doing all the dishes. What a mess my kitchen was in.
That has been my day. Now I'm ready for bed.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my Tommy. He works so hard and tries to do all the things I ask him to. I am blessed to be married to someone who know how to do so much.

Busy, Busy Day

Started out my day doing Bailee's hair before school registration. She wanted this hairdo for her school pictures and her ID card. The kids got all ready and we went to the Middle/Junior High to stand in all the lines. I tried to get Bailee's shots she had to have before registration but the Community Care said they didn't do those vaccinations and thought that Upper Valley Medical only did them on Monday's and Friday's. So I went over to the school to see if they would register her anyway. They said she could, so we stood in the line to get their planners, then the line for pictures, then the line for lunches, then the line for Scolisis (sp), then the final line to turn in paperwork, then the immunization line where we found out that Upper Valley did do the vaccinations and they were open today.
So off we went to get the shots. Bailee was scared to death. She hates shots. When we got there we found out she had to have 3 shots. So two nurses came in and did them at the same time so it was fast. Bailee still cried but she got through it and was glad it was done. Look at the sad face and the bandaid's on each arm.
Back to the school to update her immunization paper and find their lockers. Austin was able to open his after the first try so he set. Bailee was already an old hand at lockers. We went to the Sno Shack and got snowcones to make Bailee feel all better and then headed home.
When I got home I made a sandwich headed out again with Harley to go driving. We were gone for 2 1/2 hours. We found the Wind Turbine place in the hills above Idaho Falls. It was so eerie. I thought this was the best. An old ranch sign and a wind turbine behind it. The old and the new!
They were everywhere up there. It looked like a forest of trees except it was these turbines.
We got home at about 3:45 and I started cleaning up the house and especially my kitchen. My visiting teachers are coming over at 4 to visit me. They are the cutest young women and I really like them. After they left I made burritos for the kids and sat down to rest for a little while. Then I took Austin to Scouts. I stayed while Austin had Scouts and worked in the Geneology Library.
I came home and made popcorn for Bailee so she could have a movie night with the neighbor kids. Then Harley came over and watched TV with me for a while. Now it's time for my head to hit the pillow.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my grandkids today. I am grateful that I can do things for them. I am blessed!!!

Church with the Grandkids

I got up very tired and not feeling very well. I would have stayed home and did nothing all day but my cute little Austin and Bailee wanted to go to church. So I got my shower and off we went. It was very good. There were a lot of crying babies today and with a headache it was pretty noisy. But I made it and that's what counts.
I forgot to mention that Janna stayed in Utah. She is going to spend the week cleaning apartments with Ann. Lots of work but she will hopefully make some extra money.
Bailee made these Amish Sugar Cookies after church and made frosting for them. She is becoming quite the baker. They were so yummy with the frosting on them. I barbecued hamburgers for dinner. That has been my day.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for church today. I am grateful that I have a testimony of my Savior and Heavenly Father.

Back Home to Idaho

We got up this morning and went to the continental breakfast. The kids had cereal and muffins. We packed our bags and off we went. This is the cuteness that I woke up to this morning. A room full of sleepy heads.
We drove straight home and didn't have to stop except once to put gas in the car. Bailee felt really good. Bailee had a late night over at Marissa and came back with this cute hairdo. She wants this same do for Tuesday when we register her for school and get her ID card.
I was wiped out and could only make grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner and then it was off to bed.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for a safe drive home with my grandkids. It is very comforting to know that Heavenly Father is watching over me.

Lagoon

We got up early this morning and drove to Lagoon. Bailee was sick off and on so we must have stopped 6 or 7 times coming down, but we finally made it. We went to our motel and picked up our Lagoon tickets and headed out. It was wonderful in the morning, hardly any lines and not too hot. Here we are at the entrance getting ready for some fun. The kids had saved up money to go and we took the can to Broulim's yesterday to count the change. They had saved up $65.00. Good job Kulow Kids....
Waiting in line to ride the big roller coaster. We are all excited except Bailee. She's afraid it will make her sick. Or is she just a little bit afraid?
The kids wouldn't ride it again so Janna and I rode it a second time. It was fun and we had a really fun time. It reminded me of my mom who would ride any ride with me we found. She was so much fun to be with. Janna and I did have a good time. As we got off the ride Janna did the chicken thing to BJ and Austin. It was pretty funny.
Here we are getting ready to ride the Mouse Trap. I gotta say I am never riding this thing again. It was so jerky and it just threw you all over the car. Not so much fun...
We rode the sky thing across the park to the water part. It got pretty high in a couple of places which makes me dizzy so I can't look down. Ever!! Janna has the same thing so no looking down for us.
Of course, the kids found the bumper cars and Janna joined them to see how many people they could run into. Janna looks like she is having a fun time.
Austin and Janna rode this one. Bailee and I sat on the comfy bench in the shad. It was starting to get hot and crowded. That's Austin in front and Janna behind. Austin hit his head on both sides. It gave him a headache. What the heck. Maybe he needs a crash helmet. LOL!
While the kids were spending time in the water park Janna and I were setting on a bench waiting for them and here came Emily DeMill. Her and Brent were there with their kids. Brent didn't even know I had sold my house and moved to Idaho. It was pretty funny. I asked him if Dean ever told him anything. Guess not... We chatted for a while and they were off with their family and Janna and I rounded up Austin and Bailee. We were hot and tired and ready for a nap. On the way back to the motel we saw this car with a couch on top. Let me tell you it was a funny site. We tried to catch up to it to take a picture, but it was going so fast in the fast lane we couldn't catch it no mater how hard we tried. How funny is that. Who puts a couch on top of their car and goes barreling down the freeway in the fast lane.
Dosn't Janna look relaxed. I think she is checking out her messages. Her works never goes away...
I took a little nap while Janna took the kids to the pool. But it was so hot they couldn't stay in it so they came back and we watched TV and Janna took her power nap. Then we went out to dinner at the Training Table. It used to be that they served Gourmet burgers but now they are one step up from McDonalds. The flavor was good but the hamburger was so skimpy. Too bad. A really good place gone the way of the recession.
After dinner it was off to the Layton Mall for a little school shopping. And Janna shopping. She got a couple of outfits at Maurice's. She has lost so much weight that nothing fits so she's replacing everything a little at a time. She sold her big Elk mount for $1000 so that was a huge help for her. The kids got some school clothes. At one point we thought we had lost Austin in Penney's. They asked me what he was wearing and I said a green shirt and brown hair. Just as the guy was announcing the "Adam Alert" Janna found him sitting out in the mall on a bench. When he came in Penney's he told us that he told grandma he was going to sit outside while Bailee shopped. AND he was wearing a black and grey long sleeved shirt. Don't ever, ever ask me what anyone is wearing and don't tell me where you are going to be if you are one of my grandkids. Too much shopping made us ready for bed.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for this cute little family I got to go to Lagoon with. It would have been even more perfect if Harley would have come along.

Children's Class

Today I went to town and had my visual aids laminated for my class and made copies for them to color. We got bubbles for them to play with and marshmellows for the marshmellow race. Bailee and I also went grocery shopping so Tommy will have food while we are gone to Lagoon.

The kids (big and little) had a fun time with the balloons. Melanie our neighbor came to help me along with Bailee. They are a big help. I really need them to help entertain the kids.
Now it's time for bed so I can get up early in the morning and go to Lagoon with the Janna and the kids.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today for my calling. It's good to serve. Makes me feel needed.

Pizza Night

I decided this morning that I was going to find a pizza recipe and make some. I found one on the internet and made the dough this morning in my Kitchen Aid mixer. It was super easy. Janna called to go to lunch so I put it in the fridge and off we went . Only Harley came because the other two didn't want to go. So Harley drove us there so she can get more time in behind the wheel. Then I came home and took a nap. I was soooooo tired for some reason. But when I finally woke up I felt really good. I brought the dough out to the fridge and let it sit. I brought Austin over to help make pizza's with me. He did a good job. We made a round pizza and a square one. We had one really good pizza pan of Janna's. I am going on the hunt for another one. And it was a huge hit. Not one morsel was left and they wanted more. AND Bailee said it was the best pizza she had ever had... I'm keeping this recipe.
I am ready to watch relax and then go to bed. What a lazy laid back life I lead.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for all my many blessings. I have so many things that I am grateful for. But I think my most precious one is the gospel. The gospel is the thing that helps me get through the hard times and enjoy the good times. I am truly blessed beyond measure.

Horses Galore

I cleaned house and did laundry as usual this morning. Tommy has been painting the outside of our house so he has been busy too. Then after lunch Harley and I headed out on our drive. We are going to Idaho Falls to get her two sucker fish for her horse troughs. She hopes they will eat the algae. We'll just have to see how that works. On the way we passed this tractor going down the road on a four lane highway. Only in Idaho!
After we got her fish we headed out to the pasture where Boyd's horse are. Harley wanted to take pictures of them. I took these of the canal and the mountains. Very pretty.
Then I had to get one of Harley under these big trees. It was so shady and nice. And she took these horse pictures. I think she did a wonderful job. She is becoming quite the photographer.

After we got home I was very tired and sat down and did nothing for a while. Then I made a Sausage and Egg casserole for dinner. The kids weren't very crazy about it so I won't be making it again. I am just trying to use up some of the eggs we have laying around here.
Bailee had a presidency meeting so she went to her leaders house and I took Austin and Jon to Scouts tonight. They were supposed to be done at 8pm so I went back to the church to pick them up and waited and waited and waited. Finally at 8:30pm Janna called me to tell me that they were at one of the leaders homes and they would bring them home. What! Communication is lacking around here. Back home I went and watched a little TV and now I'm going to go to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today for Harley and how sweet she is to her grandma. I have fun on these little rides we do everyday. I'll probably miss them when we are done.

Driving Miss Grandma

I took the kids to Payless for some new shoes. Austin's tennis shoes where trashed and he needed church shoes and flip flops. Bailee needed church shoes and flip flops. So we got them all and it only cost Janna $100. Payless isn't so payless after all. I also got a pair of flip flops that I can walk in the mud with and wash off. We seem to have lots of thunder storm and summer showers so I need them.
Then I came home and got Harley and we went for a long drive down country roads.

We stopped at this cemetery along the way. We drove thru it looking at how many years ago these people were born and died. I kept wondering if they had their work done for them.
Then we crossed a fork of the Snake River. It's so pretty. I love to watch the water go down. Isn't Idaho pretty. Especially down these county roads.
I came home and rested for a little while and then made Foccacia Bread and spaghetti for the kids. That really made me tired. I also made a custard pie for Tommy. Too much cooking for one day.
Now it's time to watch "The Closer" and then I'll for sure be ready for bed.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Heavenly Father's creations. He made such a beautiful earth for me to enjoy.

Observing the Sabbath

The Bishop's counselor wanted to meet with Bailee this morning at 10:45 so Janna, Austin, Bailee and I went to church early. They called Bailee to be the 2nd counselor in the Beehive presidency. She was a little nervous to meet with them but she said it was fine after it was all over with. Church was good. I realized as I listened to the Relief Society lesson about how "Where much is given, much is required", that I needed to get with the program and do my best.
We came home and Janna and the kids went out to lunch with Ronnie and Tommy and I had leftover Potato Soup. It was good and hit the spot. Harley and Janna decided to put the goats in a temporary fence in the front so they could mow down the grass. They just didn't want to go into the pen so Janna and Harley hauled them in by their horns.
One of them got away and started running down the road so Janna had to hot foot it after it. It's a good thing she runs fast.
Finally they got them all in and before you know it there will be no tall weeds. They are really funny because if you scare them their legs get all stiff and they can hardly move.
That has been my day. A very good sabbath. I did genealogy today and worked on the Hudlow family. Lots of research and names to submit. I knew someone needed something done because I kept getting that prompting to go find someone. The first family I opened up had a child that had never had their work done so I submitted her. Of course, that just is the tip of the iceberg. But I'll just keep plugging away one family at a time.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for our Relief Society President. I know she works very hard for us sisters. She is so cute and friendly. It makes it fun to go to Relief Society.

Getting My Hair Done

Janna and I went to Melanie's on Main Street and I got mine cut and Janna got her's woven. It took 3 hours to get it all done but we were well entertained with a funeral next door at the mortuary. The man that they had the services for was a biker and they had his bike loaded up on a trailer and pulled by a pickup behind the hearse. It was all decorated with flowers and all his buddies followed on their motorcycles to the cemetery. What a lot of noise when they all started them up to go to the cemetery. It was quite the site. He must have been a well liked man to have so many people show up to pay their respect.
After we came home I went and took a nap. It was so good. Then it was off to Bob's Qwik Stop to pick up my one and only. It is so good to have him home again. Austin made pancakes for us for dinner. He is very good at it. Scott taught him well.
That's been my wonderful day. Denise sent down a head of romaine lettuce and a bunch of celery. So I washed them and cut up the lettuce and put it in my salad bowl in the fridge. What a wonderful friend I have found. Now I'm heading for bed.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Tommy. I am so glad he is home!

Reed's Dairy

I cleaned house this morning and got all the stuff chopped for potato soup. Then Janna called to see if I wanted to go to Abbott's with her. Of course, I would love to go to Abbott's. She was looking for a frame for this picture of Bailee and Austin to put up in her office that I took in 2007. I took 6 more with Bailee making all sorts of silly faces. Abbott's didn't have any mats that would work so we went to Porter's in Idaho Falls. It is a wonderful store. They were able to cut out a mat to fit her pictures perfectly.
We came home and Janna put it together and this is what it looks like. Pretty cute.

We came home from that and I put together potato soup and tried to make yummy rolls. Well, I must be out of practice because I messed them up. I was able at one point to get them right but forgot to raise them twice. So they had to raise forever. The kids think they are great but I know better. Afterall, I've had Amie's rolls. Delish....
After dinner Janna decided to let Harley drive us to Reed's Dairy for Ice Cream. So very yummy. Here we are in line and I'm taking a picture. Don't they know I can't help myself. So Janna decided to take a video of my fat little body. Now that is so unfair. We got a good laugh over that.

That's been my day and now I'm going to hit the hay, hug my pillow, count sheep and hope one of these really happens.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for my talented daughter. She can just about do anything. She makes me happy...

Lazy Day
