Rednecking It

Janna and the Skidster with Bailee

Eating Lunch

Getting up the nerve.

I went to church and came home and made Grilled Cheese sandwiches and Tomato Soup. It was all I could muster up.
We watched Janna pull the skidster up to Austin's pool and use it for a diving board. It took Janna forever to jump in. She hit bottom so she decided it was a dumb idea to do this. Smart daughter I raised.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for this wonderful daughter Heavenly Father gave me. I am blessed!

Swimming, Seed Tapes and Page

Gracie is swimming with Janna and Austin.

 She loves the water!

Eating Cookies

Today Janna took Gracie swimming in Austin's pool. She had so much fun. Then she had to eat the chocolate chip cookies I made. What a character. Bailee is always camera ready with a smile.
I made roasted chicken for dinner while Janna and Tommy worked on a cover for our patio. It is so hot on the deck that you can't walk without getting you feet burned. We are hoping this will help.

Seed Tape

I made seed tapes for my radishes today from a site on the internet that told me how to do it. I am so excited to do this next year for all my seeds. How easy is this and so cheap. Toilet paper and a tablespoon of cornstarch and a drop of food coloring.

Arrived

I also made this page today. It's so fun to scrap these memories. It has been a productive day for me and I have felt fabulous all day.
Last night Janna went with me to a barbecue at Brother Reis' house for the single sisters in the ward. We took Gracie too because she wouldn't let Janna go without her. It was fun and good kabob's.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today for the internet.  I can find out how to do anything. Plus study my scriptures on my ipad, do geneology and index names. What a blessing

Visiting New Sisters

Crystal and I went to visit the two new sisters in our ward. They are mother and daughter and so nice. We learned many things about what they like to do and where they came from (Southern California) and what brought them to Rigby. It was Brother Dalling who was a mission companion to Andy the husband. So that's what brought them here.
Then we went around and tried to figure out who the new move in's are. We met a lovely lady whose husband works in the oil fields. She is not a member but very nice.
Went to a couple of houses but the sisters weren't in. Another day.
I also went visiting teaching to Evelyn Muir with Crystal. If only we could get this young mom to come to church. I think her husband gives her a bad time about it.
I made Tacos for dinner and cleaned out my fridge. It really needed it.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for this calling because I get to know all the sisters in the ward. I am blessed to be the Relief Society President.

Saturday Chores

 Front Yard

Garden Boxes Without Weeds

Gave my garden a little rain shower.
Pulled some more weeds.
Gathered the eggs and let the chickens out for the day.
Watered the lilac bushes in the back flower bed.
Balanced my checkbook.
Cleaned more cupboards.
Did the dishes again.
Worked on my RS lesson.
Sorted all the pictures from my camera and phone.
Gathered eggs again, 16 today.
Did all my laundry and folded and put it all away.
That is my check list for the day and it was all accomplished. It's been a good day.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my garden. I love to work in it. I am so blessed to have such a happy productive life.

Cleaning Cupboards

Friends

I spent the day cleaning cupboards and pulling more weeds in my garden. They just keep on growing. I also made this page of Bailee and her grandpa. So it has been a productive day. I am going to clean all my kitchen cupboards so that job will be done. One more job down.
I thinned out my spinach and beets. I love to work in my garden. It just makes me happy.
I also made pizza for dinner. I used the dough from the artisan bread and it made a truly deep dish pizza. Too deep for me. I couldn't get it to be thin. So I will be going back to my regular dough.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my garden. I love to watch the seeds come up and start to grow. I am blessed to have a wonderful husband that made such good boxes for me.

Goat Show

 Caught the Goatie

Packed up and ready to leave.

Janna and Harley left for Tooele, Utah for a Goat Show. They borrowed Ron's trailer to stay in. And then they were off. I worked some more in my garden and went to buy some flowers to fill the pots for my potting table on the front porch. When they get pretty I'll take a picture.
Because it's the end of the season everything was 1/2 off. Smokin' deal. I spent the afternoon planting my pots.
Heather called to say she would be coming home on Saturday or Sunday. I can't remember which one it was. I swear I can't remember anything anymore.
Tommy and I had left over stew for dinner and Bailee and Austin ate something. They usually eat cereal when I don't cook. Bailee is working at the Chucker's stadium for the games. She likes it. Her very first real job.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the wonderful grandkids I live with. They are the very best.

Meeting and Missionaries

Goodbye

I weeded my garden some more. The weeds just keep coming. I straightened up my house and dust mopped the dog hair off the floor to get ready for my Presidency Meeting. It was good and we discussed the ward cookbook we are putting together. I went on the site to put together a cookbook and signed up for a packet to be sent to me with the details on how this is done. It is cheaper if you type in your own recipes. So we will see how it goes.
I went with the missionaries to visit Ruth, Meshawn and Reba from another ward. It was fun to see the sister missionaries at work. So dedicated to the Savior.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for this day. Especially that I went with the missionaries to visit. Even though I grumbled when they texted me to go with them I hope in some small measure it counted.

Going Home

 My Tommy Dean

And My John

Tommy and I met John for breadfast around 7:30 and headed home. I played my games, read my scriptures and slept all the way home. Just sat around all afternoon. I did water my garden and take care of the chickens so I accomplished something I guess.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the safe trip we had to and from Utah. It's very nice to feel watched over. I am blessed!

Hailey's Homecoming Brunch

Hailey and Friends

We went to church this morning to hear Hailey give her homecoming talk and Hayden is giving the youth talk about fasting. They both did a fabulous job. And Harrison blessed the Sacrament and Hayden passed it. What a wonderful Sunday and Tommy went to church with me so it was a great day all around. Hailey made me cry. She is so spiritual and I noticed Tommy wiping his eyes. If only he could understand how important it is to be active. One day maybe it will sink in.
After church Amie made a brunch for all the friends of Hailey. It was so good to see all the people come to give Hailey a big hug. She is one awesome RM. Amie took a nap and I talked her into letting me clean up. So I felt like I helped a little bit with this wonderful occasion.
Tonight we had Cafe Rio for dinner and Hailey told us all the funny stories from her mission. We laughed and laughed. She can really make things fnny. Her expressions are priceless.

Red

I also finished this page in between all of this. Now I'm tired and going to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for all my many blessing. I am so blessed to belong to this wonderful family of mine. To be able to witness such good talks and two grandsons honoring their Priesthood is such a blessing to me.

Scrapping All Day

 Jump and Pop

 Rebecca Driving

Janna and Red

Baker

I have been hanging out in Dean's basement all day and scrapping my heart out. The rest of the family have been running here and there and everywhere.
Dean took us to the home he has in the Parade of Homes. What a beautiful floorplan. He has subdivisions all over the place. Then we stopped at Stokes for some sour cream and back home we went.
Amie made stuffed peppers for dinner and salad and homemade rosematy bread. It was delicious.
Now I am ready for bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my wonderful son Dean. He cares so much for other people and is such an example to me of how we are supposed to follow Christ in our lives. I love my kids so much and always want the very best for them.

Getting A Big Hug From Hailey

Hailey's Big Smile

Tommy and I left for Utah around 11am after I got all packed and watered my garden and pulled some more weeds.
I couldn't wait to get here to get my first hug from Hailey in 18 months. It was worth the wait to have that hug and a pat on the head. She is much taller than her short grandma.
Amie made grilled chicken and a big salad and Hailey made homemade bread. Very yummy.  Hailey entertained us with funny stories of Mexico. We were cracking up at her.
After dinner the family went to play tennis at the high school and Tommy and I watched for a little while and then went to get an Ice Cream. It was fun.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful that this beautiful granddaughter was watched over while on her mission and returned home safely. What a blessing Hailey is in our family.

Special Ward Council Meeting

I did all my laundry and worked in my garden. It made me tired so I fell asleep watching TV. Then I had to get dressed in church clothes to go to the church for a special ward council meeting. It was all about putting Christ back into the Sacrament Meeting. Wonderful council from the Apostles. Then we discussed how we could make improvements in our ward. We are also going to have a Ward Council Meeting on the 1st Sunday to plan Sacrament Meetings. It's going to be different.
I did manage to finish reading my part of the handbook and the first 5 chapters.
I got home at 10 and went to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the Apostles that are directed by the Lord to show us how to do things in the church. We so desparately need their guidance as we try to fulfill our callings.

Hailey Is Coming Home

Hailey will be flying in to Salt Lake Airport tonight at 7. I am sad that I won't be there but I will get my hug on Friday. She served an awesome mission through thick and thin as my grandma used to say.
Austin and I went shopping today. First it was to Ameripet to drop off a job application. Janna is teaching him how to find a job. Smart lady, that daughter of mine. Bailee will be working at the Chuckers Stadium this summer. She is pretty excited about it. And of course, Harley is still at Cal Ranch and Ameripet. Hard working kids I live with.
Then it was off to Walmart to get some stuff. I got fabric for baby blankets for the sisters in our ward that are having babies. Sister Campbell crochets a beautiful edge around them. She is a master crocheter.
Next stop was Winco. What a big job this is. But I got some exercise and groceries all at the same time and having Austin with me made it so much easier. Now to date it and rotate it into my pantry.
I called Dean at 7:30 to see if Hailey had arrived safe and sound. I got to hear her voice say, "Hello Grandma". I was over the moon. Can't wait until Friday to hug her so tight. I have missed her so much.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for my Hailey for serving so diligently in Mexico. What a wonderful Missionary she has been.

Pulling Weeds

I spent the day pulling weeds in my garden and sorting pictures for scrapping our Canadian trip with Dean and the kids. It was really fun to see all the pictures. Thank goodness I have a blog so I can figure out what happen each day. And believe you me there was tons of events each day.
Then I made Mac and Cheese for dinner and Brownies for dessert.  Just as I got that all done a huge wind storm came up and off went the power. We are far better prepared this time than all the times before.
I needed to water parts of my garden and my Petunias but when we have no power we have no water. So Janna and I pulled weeds until it was too dark to see.
I am reading the Handbook for Relief Society and the first 6 chapters that the Stake President has asked all the organizations to do. I was able to finish up to chapter 5. So having no power did have perks.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the vacations Dean and Family have taken me on. What wonderful memories and blessings.

Going to Walmart

Fun

I went to Walmart this morning and got some more petunia's to plant. And the stuff for BBQ Beef Sandwiches for dinner. I had a very pleasant time at Walmart. Hardly anyone in the store. It's always good when Walmart isn't packed with people.
I came home and worked on this page along with babysitting Gracie. Heather was sick so I watched her so she could go back to bed and in the afternoon she had a job interview. By the end of the day I am tired.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the beautiful sunshine. I feel totally rejuvenated when the sun shines. What a blessing!!

Swinging in the Hot Walker

 Around and

Around she goes.

Today was a wonderful day at church. I always find my happy spiritual self there. We had good lessons and testimony's. I was spiritually fed today. Bailee took Gracie to church and she was very good. I think it's easier as she gets older.
We are able to go online now and make all our Visiting Teaching changes and reports from our home computer. What a blessing that is not to have to go to the church to do them.
Janna hooked up Gracie's swing to the horse walker and she turns it on and around and around Gracie goes. She loves it and never wants to get off. How ingenious!
She helped me take care of the chickens tonight and give the little ones water. Always my helper.
I worked on this page this morning and finished it after church.

Animal Lovers

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for all the things I learn and am reminded of at church. It like going to a Fountain of Spiritual Water and drinking as much as you want. What a blessing Church is to me.

Planting Petunias

 Gracie is my little helper.

Has to have knee pads just like Gramma.

Time to plant my Petunias. I got lavender this year. I think they will be so pretty. I work all day and managed to plant them all. It's pretty hard for me to get up and down but I was bound and determined that I was going to do it. And I did!!
I also pulled more weeds in my garden. It's a never ending job. But we love the radishes we are eating already. I had to plant another crop so we wouldn't run out.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the beauty of flowers that Heavenly Father has created for me. I love them so much and they always make me happy and remind me of my dear Mom.

Making Focaccia Bread with Gracie

Focaccia Bread

Today Gracie helped me make Focaccia Bread to go with my Baked Zita for dinner. She loves to help me with anything I am doing. What a sweetheart this little girl is.
Heather and I went to Walmart to get Petunias for my front flower beds. Now I can plant them tomorrow. I have been weeding my garden and trying to get rid of the tiny little weeds that are all over. Everything is coming up so it's fun to go out and work.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for all my many blessing. To be able to have a garden just outside my front door that I can manage is so wonderful. Blessing abound.

Gracie and the Dentist

Gracie waiting for the train to come around.

Gracie and the Hygenist

I followed Heather and Gracie to the dentist this morning. She was so good she didn't even cry. The dentist checked her teeth first and then the hygenist brushed her teeth really good and put flouride on them. What a cute dentist office. A train that goes on a track all over the place even into the exam rooms.
After that was all done she go a prize from the treasure chest and I took her to Lolo and dropped her off.
When I went to pick her up at 3:30 she was crying and had a high fever. Janna came home and took her to the doctor. They never know whats wrong with her but the dentist said her molars where coming in and she always seems to get a fever when she is teething. Who knows.
I made baked whole chicken that I had put olive oil and a dry rub on and baked them in the oven. So yummy with mashed potatoes.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for dentists that can fix teeth and prevent cavities. I am grateful for the knowledge Heavenly Father has given us to know so much.

Lazy Day

Lunch Yesterday I made a Keto Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole for dinner. AJ liked it but not Janna. Oh well. So today I had it for lunc...
