Memorial Day

I was a little late getting to the Hospital today. I went walking with Heather. It was good to get out in the sunshine. Then I rested for a little while, took a shower and came to be with mom. This morning all the little Robins flew away. There was one sitting on a branch yesterday and this morning, and then it was gone. How fun it was to watch the process of this event. The Mom was so protective of her babies. I think I have to do a page with all the pictures I took. Too bad I couldn't get one of her dive bombing Molly and I. But I was running too fast.
Mom is doing good today. They have had to give her a bunch of Potassium because it was low from all the medication to get rid of her edema. Then we got to watch a video on how to change her Estoma. It was pretty interesting and I think if I ever have to do it I could. I also had to go to Walgren's to get a battery for my mouse. I have been doing genealogy and making templates. I will have a lot of them done when I'm finished spending my days down here with mom. I am home now and ready to relax. I pray that mom will have a good night. John is making hamburgers for dinner. What a good thing it is not to have to cook very often, especially now.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful this day for my Scriptures. I find out so many answers to the problems I have. And I'm grateful that I don't have to feel guilty for not reading them. Why does it take me so long to get it??
Mosiah 9 - Mosiah 11  I find it amazing that King Laman is still harboring ill feeling towards Lehi and Nephi. He still thinks they were driven out of Jeruselem, wronged in the wilderness, wronged crossing the sea, wronged while in the land of their first inheritance and wroth with Nephi. I think these were some pretty unhappy people.

Sabbath Day in Mountain View

I was so tired when I woke up this morning that I had to lay back down, after taking care of the dogs, for about an hour just so I could get up the energy to take a shower. Bone weary tired... I finally arrived at the hospital at 9am. Mom seems to be a little hot. When the nurse comes in I will find out what her temp is. I sat with mom this morning until noon and then I went home and got ready for Church. I had to demonstrate how to sign up for New Family Search. I felt very scattered but hopefully someone learned something. Now I'm back at mom's and she seems to be doing pretty well. They just gave her some pain meds so she isn't feeling anything. I am pretty sleepy. It must be Sunday afternoon nap time. I am heading home at 6pm and eating dinner and laying my tired body down.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for genealogy and all the wonderful Spiritual experiences I have had over the years while searching for my ancestors.
Mosiah 8 - Mosiah 9  I love that we had Joseph Smith to translate the Book of Mormon for us. How anxious the King was to get someone to translate the 24 Jaredite Plates.

Another Day Caring for my Sweet Mom

Mom was in quite a bit of pain when I got here this morning, so they gave her some morphine. Now she is in La La Land! I spent at least an hour this morning taking the dogs (I am dogsitting Chloe Marie) out and playing with them and getting them very tired. Sometimes they have a little disagreement and just can't play well together so we take them for walks so they can get along. Funny dogs!! It's now 4pm in the afternoon. Mom has been sleeping most of the day. I keep giving her sips of things to drink. She is running a slight fever. Now her arm where her IV is is swollen. I had to run home and help Tommy straighten up the house as someone was coming to see it. John and I took the dogs for a drive and Tommy stayed to answer questions. Now I'm back at mom's. I made it home finally and ate dinner and now it's bed time.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful that they have the internet at the hospital. I have been able to do lots of indexing because of it.
Mosiah 5 - Mosiah 8 - What righteous people there was with King Benjamin. In chapter 6 verse 2 it says there was not one soul, except it were little children, but who had entered into the covenant and had taken upon the name of Christ.

Mom is on the Mend

I got my hair cut this morning at 6:15am. I love this early time. Nothing ever gets in the way. Then I gave Amie all my Jackson Family Cards so she will have tons of names for the kids to do baptisms for. When I got to the hospital at 8am I was so happy. Mom was doing really good and didn't seem to have any pain. She just looks like her old self. I am feeding her breakfast which consists Chicken Broth, Warm Jello, Juice, and Herbal Tea. Yummmmm Yummmm!!! Kris came by and brought me some fruit and muffins and CHOCOLATE. What a good friend! And I found the stairs. There are 44 steps from floor 1 to floor 3. I have taken them 4 times so far today and it's only 1pm. No more elevator for me. They did a chest xray today and mom's lung look pretty clear. She is sleeping now. Prayer gives me peace. I have indexed more records today and made more Templates. I am so glad I have something to do to keep busy as I care for mom.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today that mom is doing better. Prayer gives me peace.
Mosiah 4 - Mosiah 5  This is the chapter that my old Bishop told me to read when I complained about helping a family that only came to church at Thanksgiving and Christmas. It was a lesson learned and learned well.

Surgery is Over

I got to the hospital this morning at 7am and they took mom to surgery at 8:00. Dr Hill had something come up and couldn't do surgery at that time so they took mom back up to her room. At 11:30 they took her back down and Dr Hill did the surgery. He said all went well. He did discover that she has cirrhosis of the liver and that's the cause of the edema. Now we just have to pray that the next couple of days are good. Tommy came down when she went into surgery to stay with me. Mom came back to her room at 3:30 and just looks pitiful. That is to be expected, I guess. Her vitals are good! If she can get through her hospital stay without getting pneumonia we will be home free for awhile. Now I am going to go to bed and watch some dumb show and not think of one single thing.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the support of my family and friends. They make me able to go through these things.
Mosiah 3 - Mosiah 4  I looked up the "natural" man in the Student Manual and it says it is Fallen or Sinful. I always forget that so now maybe I will remember. We were all born into a Fallen World because of Adam and Eve so we have to have a Savior to atone for us.

Another Day in Mountain View Hospital

Here I am again. I got here at 8am and around 10am they did a sonagram of mom's heart. Now we are waiting for the results. I don't think it looks very promising because they are getting Hospice in place. But we will see when they get the results. Amie came and brought me Subway. Just before she called I had been debating if I should run and get something or not. I hate to leave incase the doctor comes in to talk with me. That's my Amie, always knows when I need her. I have been indexing all day on Pennsylvania Census records. They are a mess because we are arbitrating the records from Ancestry and the church indexers so they are out of order. We have to records match before we start. But they are getting much faster. Well, they are going to do surgery on mom tomorrow morning. Her heart is good! Wahooooo! They will remove her gall bladder and put in a colostomy (sp) bag so she won't be in so much pain. Johnnie just made it so easy for me when I called him and he said that if she stood a chance we should do the surgery to relieve her pain. How I love my brother. So I will have to be back here tomorrow at 7am. I know this is the right thing to do and now it's in the Lord's hands and whatever happens He is in charge. Mom had the most wonderful nurse named Virginia that got information for me and talked with Dr Hill so I could make better choices.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for a nurse that will go the extra mile and help us figure out what to do. Heavenly Father sends us Angels whenever we need them.
Mosiah 2 - Mosiah 3  I always love the General Conference King Benjamin has for the saints. And how he writes down his message so everyone can hear his words. The first Ensign??

My Sweet Mom

I was at the hospital by 8am and spent the day there. They are going to do a Ecocardigram (Sp) to see if she will survive surgery. After we find out about that we will know what to do next. She is also malnourished so they are giving her Ensure and medication to boost her protein levels. The fistula is not a concern to Dr. Hill, who is also the surgeon that did Tommy's surgery, because she has so many things wrong he said that wasn't life threatening. So we will see what tomorrow brings. My sweet Amie and Hailey brought me a sandwich for lunch and Yvonne came and took me to dinner in the cafeteria. What wonderful people I have in my life. I spent the day scrapbooking and indexing. I even read my Scriptures. Now I'm home and going to bed so I can get up in the morning and do it all over again.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for Amie, Hailey and Yvonne that made the day go by faster and made me feel so loved. Tommy too who brought my phone charger to me.
Mosiah 1 - Mosiah 2 Chapter 3 is my favorite where it tells of King Benjamin teaching his sons from the Brass Plates, just as we are told to teach our children from the Book of Mormon.

Mom's in the Hospital

I started the day off moving more of my scrap room downstairs. Then I went to Heather's to have her adjust my camera. She is so smart!! Thanks Heather, no more blue birds. I went to the nursing home to check on Mom and make sure they were addressing her fistula. They were going to get a hold of Dr. Bennion and find out what he wanted done.  I came home and went visiting teaching to Liz and Joan. After I came home from that I got a phone call from the Nursing Home saying they were taking Mom to the ER. They did another CAT Scan and she has an enlarged gall bladder with stones and a fistula which is very bad. They need to do another test tomorrow to see if her gall bladder has a stone blocking it, which would account for all the pain she has in her stomach. So, I'll be back at the hospital bright and early in the morning. I finally got home at about 8:30. I am very tired. It was so emotional when they were doing all these terrible procedure that were hurting my mom. I had to leave and go out of the ER so I wouldn't hear her express her pain. She was exhausted when I finally left her. I wonder why???
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for wonderful Doctors that can find out what's wrong with you and attempt to fix it or relieve your pain.
The Words of Mormon - Mosiah 1  I didn't realize that King Benjamin had the Sword of Laban. I'm sure that's not a new concept but I looked up all the footnotes and read where Nephi got the sword, used it as a model to make other swords, passed it down, and it was buried with the gold plates and the Urim and Thummin. I will always remember that now.

Summer Romance Preview

Here is the Summer Romance kit I made. Today Tommy and I went early to church set up the display for the bread. Susan talked and challenged us to get a 3 month supply of food storage to make a loaf of bread per day for three month. If you have a larger family you would have to store more. Then Michelle set up the tables, so as everyone came out of the chapel they were able to get a slice of homemade bread with jam on it. It seemed to go over very well. I really hope it works. After church I met with the Bishop and Joe Merrill to figure out what we are doing next Sunday. I really hope it goes over well. I always worry when it comes to electronics that something will go wrong. I will have to pray and have faith. After that I came home, put on my jeans and went to visit mom. She was awake but very tired. She didn't eat but a couple of bites. She was just worn out. I was glad when they laid her down and she could go to sleep. What a sweet and wonderful mom she has been to me all my life. After visiting mom I came home and ate dinner. Now I'm blogging and going to bed 'cause I'm very tired.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for Relief Society that helps us to love our sisters. Each one of them has become so special to me and I truly love them.
Omni 1 - The Words of Mormon - I can't believe how many time they mention the Genealogy of their fathers. The Lord preserves the records for them. It was as important back then as it is now.

Of Noble Birthright Preview

Here is the kit I made for the LDS Blog Train. Today I was busy all day. I worked on Relief Society projects all morning and got what I had here done. What a relief. Then I had Tommy drive me to Salt Lake so I could go to the Temple and turn in some cards and pick some up for Yvonne and I. Then I went to the Genealogy Library and had them print out the cards for all the Jacksons and some for Amie. I printed out 112 cards all together. Now that's a lot of Souls that will get out of Spirit Prison. On to the next fabulous find. I love to solve these mysteries and find my ancestors. I made a price sheet for the display for tomorrow that tells how much it costs to make one loaf of bread per day for 3 months. We are hoping to get everyone's food storage to include this. I also did 3 loads of laundry. I feel good about my accomplishment today.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for this blog. It has literally changed my life. I took my Scriptures with me to Salt Lake and read them on the way. I would have never thought of that until I started putting my Scripture reading in this blog.
Enos 1 - Omni 1 I love how  the Lord tells Enos that whatsoever thing he should ask in faith, believing that ye shall receive in the name of Christ, ye shall recieve it. Enos had faith and the Lord preserved the records which were the Book of Mormon. I think I need to work on my faith.

Birdies are getting Big

This picture has a bluish color to it. The mother bird kept trying to get me so I had to be quick. Maybe that's the problem. Today I went visiting teaching with Jacque. We visited Arleen and found out she has to have throat surgery again. Then I worked on Relief Society stuff all afternoon. Tommy went to the Father and Son outing with Dean. I think that's so sweet that Dean wants his dad to go with him. My car had another gas leak so I couldn't go to Salt Lake today, but Tommy got it fixed so maybe if the weather is okay I can go tomorrow. I made some Strawberry Shortcakes from bisquick that were yummy. Amie served them at one of our dinners so I bought some bisquick to try it out. They were yummy just like Amie's. No more yucky Angel Food cake that Tommy buys. I also finished all my blog trains and sent the previews in. Now I don't have to worry about them until the 31st when we have to post them.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful that Tommy is so smart mechanically. He can always fix my car and anything else that breaks down. He has always been able to fix the things in our house whatever it is. Now that's a talent all husbands need.
Jacob 6 - Enos 1 I like the part where Jacob tells Sherem that if the Lord smites him that will be his sign, but only if it's the Lords will. And that exactly what happens. God does have power, both in Heaven and on Earth.

Scrap Night with my Friends

Today I went walking with Heather. It is finally getting easier. After our walk I came home and worked on the other blog train for Stuff to Scrap. Hopefully I can finish it tomorrow. I also cleaned house. I made phone calls for Relief Society. Then I went down to visit my Mom. She just couldn't stay awake so I finally left and went to the market. I got some groceries and some stuff for the display on Sunday. Then tonight some of my scrap buddies came to my house and we scrapped. I am working on a page of Janna and Austin. When I get it done I will post it.n This picture is of Judy, Heather, Gerri and Lori. We had a lot of fun tonight.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for my good scrapping buddies. They make my life fun.
Jacob 5 - Jacob 6 This is the longest chapter in the Book of Mormon and has so many things packed into it I think it has to be disected verse by verse. An allegory is a story with more than one level of meaning. That what it says in the Student Manual from BYU.

Cheesy Italian Pasta Bake with Awesome Bread Sticks

Today I went walking with Heather. It is getting easier for me. And I always feel so much better when I am done. After that I paid my bills and worked on a kit for the LDS Blog Train. I will post my preview tomorrow. I was busy and productive all day today. I just felt good! This morning I went out to take a picture of the little birds in the nest and the mama bird didn't like that at all and swooped down at me and then took off after Molly. It was hilarious. Needless to say we hot footed it into the house so she could feed her babies. First time I have been attacked by a bird. For dinner I made this pasta and bread sticks from Kara's website. It was easy, cheap and my family loved it. Thanks, Kara, for your experitse.
Now I'm just kind of hanging out and doing a little more genealogy on the Jackson line.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for a friend like Heather to walk with. We have such a good time I don't realize I am exercising.
Jacob 3 - Jacob 5 I love verse 6 where it says our faith becometh unshaken, insomuch that we truly can command the very trees to obey us. Powerful!!

Meeting and Cannery

I didn't go walking with Heather today 'cause it was raining and I didn't want to mess up my hair. I had a presidency meeting today. We got lots of stuff planned. I just love serving with these ladies. After that I worked some more on genealogy and then went to the cannery. We now have Bro and Sister Banks as our bosses. They seem like very sweet people. Most of the missionaries are retiring and they are in desperate need for new missionaries to serve. Hopefully they will find some. I came home from the cannery and ate the pinto beans I had cooked earlier. I watched American Idol and now I'm blogging ane then I'll be going to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve in so many capacities in the church. I am blessed to have a wonderful husband that will serve with me.
Jacob 2 - Jacob 3 I love verse 17 where it tells us to think of our brethren like ourselves, and be familiar with all and free with your substance, that they may be rich like unto you. I think that is telling us we need to pay a generous fast offering to help the needy. I also think this is a good argument for sharing our food storage with our brethren.

Easter Eggs Page

Today I worked some more on the Jackson Genealogy. I think I may get to the end of it someday. I walked this morning with Heather. She is just so sweet. I was a little tired today but I managed to make this page. I went to the Belnap's tonight to help them with the New Family Search. I don't know whether I did any good or not. We ran into a family that was such a mess. They had 24 kids. They had people linked up that weren't the parents. It just makes you tired because how do you know which one is right. But I guess we all have to have patience as we work through this huge mess we have made. I
am ready for bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my blessings. I have had a good full life and for that I'm so grateful.
Jacob 1 - 2 In verse 10 it talks about the people having loved Nephi exceedingly. It reminds me of President Hinckley when he died. His people truly loved him exceedingly also.

Baby Robins

Three of the four Robin eggs hatched overnight. I tried to get another picture tonight to see if the last one had hatched but Momma Bird wasn't getting off her nest. I love taking pictures of this nest. What fun to watch this event. Love the little tufts of feathers. This morning I worked some more on the Jackson line and got more names ready to do the work. Church was very good. I went to visit Mom after and watch a little TV with her. She was in good spirits. Then I went down to Dean and Amie's for Hamburgers and Sweet Potatoe Fries and for dessert, Magleby's Buttermilk Pie. Sooooo Good! We watched a video of Amie's grandpa in Virginia making their famous Apple Butter. It was just the sweetest video. Her grandpa tells stories of his childhood as they make the butter. What a priceless treasure she has there. Then I came home and worked some more on genealogy. Now I am going to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the grace of God to put this bird nest in a tree right outside my house where I can take pictures and watch this miracle unfold. He knew one of my favorite things is to peek into bird nests. Brings back so many childhood memories.
2 Nep 31 - Jacob 1 I love verse 20 where is says we must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope and a love of God and all men. When I read that I just knew I was being reminded to have hope and not let the problems of life get me down. I truly love the scriptures.

Grandkids Galore

Harrison and Hayden spent the night last night with Bailee and Austin. They had so much fun. And then the three boys played together all day. Bailee went to her friends house and spent the day with them in Salem. It was a peaceful, relaxing day. I had a slight headache today so I just laid around. In between that I worked on scrapbooking and genealogy. It was one of those days where after you lay down you think you are good until you get up and start to do something. But it was good. Austin went down to spend the night with Harrison and Hayden and Tommy went to Salem to bring Bailee home so I'll be down to only one grandkid tonight. This picture is of the grandkids eating cereal for breakfast. I was too tired to make them anything else. Oh well, I think they liked it just fine.  I printed out a FOR for my names on the Jackson line. I'm going to take them to the Salt Lake Library and get them printed. There is a lot of them. I proved each family with the census records so I know they are right. Now I think it's time to go to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today that I am a grandma. It's so fun to see the grandkids play and have fun. They keep me laughing and that's a good thing.
2 Nep 30 - 2 Nep 31 I can't wait for Satan to be bound. Can you just imagine what it will be like with no evil in the world. We'll want to watch the news because it will all be positive things.

Back Home

I spent the morning at Janna's blowing my nose and unzipping all my files in my Move Folder. I think it's allergies. We can only hope. I was able to finish my last blog train on the way home. My folder is empty. What a relief. I have decided I need to do them as I download them and not let them back up. We'll see how good I am at following through. It's those blog trains. They are huge. After Bailee and Austin got out of school we left for Utah. We stopped at the kitchen place on the way out of town so I could get something for Heather and Gerri. We got home around 7:30 and the kids went to find Harrison and Hayden. They are playing at the Cook's for another 15 minutes and then they have to come in 'cause it's dark outside.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my computer and how much fun I have scrapbooking. It's so fun to relive each event as I scrap them and to be able to look back at the wonderful times I have in my life.
2 Nep 28 - 2 Nep 30  I had never really thought about the verse 13 in chapter 28 where it says the churches rob the poor with their fine sanctuaries and fine clothing. But the poor are also the ones who pay for such things.

Gotta New Phone

I had to go to Verizon and get my old phone transfered to my new red phone. That took all morning. We couldn't figure out Janna's password so we had to wait until we had it. I even left and went to a cute play that Bailee was in. It was called "The Baker's Neighbor". It was so cute and the kids were really good. They knew their lines and delivered them with expertise. I took pictures of course so a page will be coming. When we came back we got the password and they were able to finish transfering the phones. They transfered Harley's too. Then we went to the Chinese Restaurant for lunch and then to the market for bread. Then I came home and I was freezing, which is usually a sign of being tired. I went and laid down on Harley's bed at 1 and work up at 3 when the kids came home. I guess I was tired!! Now we are off to baseball practice and games. Grammahood is so fun. NOT! Austin made a double play and scored a run. For dinner we went to Wendy's as it was after 8pm. Now I am taking my runny nose and going to bed. It's either allergies or a cold. I guess we'll see which tomorrow.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for the time I have had to spend with my grandkids. It's fun to watch them do their stuff.
2 Nep 27 - 2 Nep 28  I wonder what could be in the sealed portion of the Golden Plates. It must be something really awesome.

Walking the Dog Page

I did laundry and cleaned house today. I always have a hard time sleeping in a strange bed so I was pretty tired. I worked on genealogy and scrapbooking today. Here is a page I made of Molly taking a walk with us. It was fun to do. I also made Tacos for dinner and helped Austin with his homework. Harley came home sick today. So she slept all afternoon. She will probably be up all night. Anyway I am extremely tired and ready for bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for these wonderful grandkids. They just make my life a joy.
2 Nep 26 - 2 Nep 27 I love the part where it tells us that we will be familiar with the Book of Mormon if we have knowledge of the Bible.

We are in Idaho

I got up this morning, did some genealogy until it was time to go walking with Heather. We walked around the track in Salem. It's our favorite place. It was sprinkling a little when we started but it quit as soon as we went half way around. I came home from that and packed my bags and we left for Idaho. It rained on us all the way. Through Salt Lake it was a down pour.  I worked on genealogy on the way here. I found a ton of stuff on Joel Jackson when I googled his name. It is all documented but I can't figure out where my Wilmeth Jackson comes in. I know she belongs to this family somewhere. So I am going to pray for some answers to see what I can find. I made dinner for the kids and worked some more on genealogy. Austin and I are playing with his new toy called Find It that Lou and Amie sent them from New Jersey. It is so much fun. There are a bunch of hidden things inside all these beads. Now I'm getting ready to quit for the night.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for the internet that makes finding my ancestors so much easier. I used to have to go to the library or order the films and have them shipped. It would take forever just to find one family. Now you just type in the name and it searches for you.
2 Nep 21 - 2 Nep 26 I love the verse about a marvelous work and a wonder among the children of men.

Critter's Everywhere

Look what showed up on my lawn this afternoon. I think these ducks have been on everyone's lawn in Elk Ridge. Molly just about had a fit because they were on her lawn. Cute little ducks. And the Robin is still sitting on her eggs. I took a pictures inside the nest. I know, I have gone over the edge. I went walking with Heather this morning in the rain. Thanks, Heather for helping me make up my mind to get my rear moving. Then I went down and helped Lois Borklund install RootsMagic on her computer. Lynn came over so she could watch how to do it. Then I had to go to a meeting at the cannery and I had to stop and get a store bought cake to take for the pot luck luncheon. Then I came home and worked on genealogy until it was time to go visit mom. She was so sleepy she would wake up and then fall right back to sleep. Then I came home and made Black Bean Burritos with my bottled black beans. Yummy good. Now I'm going to read my scriptures and go to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the opportunity I have had to work with Sister Barr at the cannery. She will be sorely missed. Such a caring and wonderful lady.
2 Nep 19 - 2 Nep 20  We faithful Saints are part of the remnant of Jacob. We are fulfilling this prophecy.

Happy Mother's Day

Today has been fabulous. Janna and the kids called to wish me a Happy Mother's Day. It was so good to talk with them all. John gave me a card with cards in it where he will scrub my floors, wash my windows, walk at the track in Salem, etc. How sweet is that. I did genealogy this morning until time to get ready for church. Church was really good. We had a really good lesson in Relief Society taught by one of our young adults McKenzie Stevens. She did such a good job! I love when we are taught by different sisters in the ward. It's harder for me because I have to call them all to see who will teach but I love how all the sisters are so willing. After church we went down to Dean and Amie's for dinner. Amie made Chicken Enchiladas. They were so good and then for dessert we had Strawberry Shortcake. Yummy Good. They gave me a card with money to support my scrapping habit. Don't I have just the best kids ever. Then we all went to Mom's to wish her a Happy Mother's Day. Now I'm blogging and going to bed. It seems to have been a long day. I am posting the page I made yesterday of Dean and the boys wrestling. What cuties they are.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my kids and grandkids. My heart was so full today as I talked with them all. They are so special to me.
2 Nep 20 - 2 Nep 21 I love verse 6 where it talks about the Savior and how He will be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty One, The Prince of Peace.

Flowers From 2 Sweet Grandsons

Today has been a wonderful day. I worked on genealogy all morning and then made a template and a page that I will post later. I went down to visit mom this afternoon and she was just being laid down after lunch. I stayed with her until she went fast asleep. She was feeling pretty good. I am so glad she is all right. That was a scare. At around 4pm Tommy and I went to see Hannah play Soccer. She is just so cute out there. I took about 270 pictures so I should have enough to make a page. I certainly hope so. We stopped by the grocery store on the way home to get salad fixings for tomorrow. Then I came home and finished the page I was working on. When I got home this wonderful bouquet was sitting on my counter. Isn't it just wonderful. Harrison and Hayden made it for there grandma. I'm sure they had a little help. Aren't they just the sweetest.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful that my mom is doing better. I am grateful that Heavenly Father watches over her and keeps her safe.
2 Nep 14 - 2 Nep 19 I think 15: 20 is so powerful where it says "Wo unto them that call evil good, and good evil, etc. It makes me think of the way the world is today where evil is accepted.

Hunting Up Dead People

I went to the genealogy library with Lynn and Sue today. I am working on names for Dean and Amie to take to Denver with then at the end of the month. It was a lot of fun. These ladies really make me laugh. After the library I really didn't do anything. I guess driving to Salt Lake made me tired. I went down to Salem Hills High and picked up Hayden so he could come and play at my house. I made him a peanut butter sandwich, which he ate and went outside to play with the kids next door and Harrison. He is such a cute guy. Then I laid down to watch TV and was out like a light. I woke up and realized I hadn't blogged. So now it's time for bed.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for my grandson Hayden. He is such a cute little guy. I am glad that he likes to come to grandma's house.
2 Nep 13 - 2 Nep 14 I wonder what all these things that he is going to take away from the daughters of Zion that they are wearing are.

Mom in the ER

At about 8am this morning I got a call from the Nursing Home telling me they were going to send mom over to the ER. They had taken an Xray yesterday and thought she had a blockage in her intestines. Not good!! So Johnnie, Phyllis and I went down to mom's and they were trying to put an IV in her hand. She doesn't have good veins (they roll) so they couldn't get it in. I was really concerned about her. They finally gave up trying to get the IV in and took her over to the Hospital. They did a CatScan and found that there was no blockage. The doctor couldn't explain her descended stomach. So they fed her some food to see how she would do. She eat a lot and it didn't bother her stomach. The doctor said the Nursing Home needed to keep a close eye on her and call if anything got worse. That was such a relief. Johnnie and I just breathed a sigh of relief. So about 2pm they released her and the van from the nursing home took her back. She was so relieved to get back in her own bed. She was tired. Johnnie and Phyllis said good bye to her and headed back to Arizona. I will miss them. I came home and worked some more on genealogy and now it's time for bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for wonderful doctors and nurses that have the knowledge to take care of us when we are sick. What a blessing they are when someone you love is sick.
2 Nep 12 - 2 Nep 13 I love the part where Isaiah says "let us go up to the mountain of the Lord; ...and he will teach us of his ways. That what I love about Temples (mountain of the Lord). All those wonderful things we learn.

Visiting with Johnnie and Phyllis

Today my brother Johnnie and his wife Phyllis came to visit me. We went down to visit mom. She was just so cute. I ask her who her favorite was and she said Johnnie. She didn't even know he was behind her. We had so much fun with her and she just laughed and talked with us. Then we went to IHOP in Springville for a late lunch. On the way home from that we saw the Skyhawks playing a softball game so we went to watch Hailey play. Phyllis was in 7th Heaven. I just so love these two. Johnnie and Phyllis have been married for 54 years. That means she has been my sister for 54 years. That's a long time. We left the game early because a cold wind came up and Phyllis and I were getting cold. We came home and I made a Pineapple Upside Down Cake. We then went back down to visit with mom some more. She was just so cute. Now we are all tired and going to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for Johnnie and Phyllis. It is good to have people in your life that love you and you love them.
2 Nep 10 - 2 Nep 12  Jacob saw the Savior along with Nephi. I had never registered that.

Fitting a Wedding Dress

My dear friend Kaylyn came over this morning so we could fit her muslin mock up of her wedding dress. We got it all pinned and marked. Then we cut out some vinyl for her. It took a little longer than we expected because I had to use Janna's Cricut as Janna has my old computer with the program on it. For some reason it won't work on my new computer. I'm sure it's Windows 7. I seem to have issues with all my programs. But we finally got it done and then Tommy and I went to the Dry Pack Cannery and served our mission. We were pretty busy so time went by fast. I came home from that and worked some more on Amie's Genealogy. She is going to register for New Family Search so I can put these in her name. Now it's time to go watch American Idol and go night night. My brother is coming early tomorrow so I have to get up early and get all ready for him. I might have to dust my house.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my brother Johnnie. He is so sweet. He has always been the best brother. I can't wait to see him and Phyllis.
2 Nep 9 - 2 Nep 10 I think it's a good warning for us in verse 42 where it says they who are puffed up because of their learning, and their wisdom, and their riches. We must be so careful about being prideful with anything in our lives.

Bird Nest

I have this Robin sitting in a nest right outside my spare bedroom window. I can see her sitting in her nest from inside my house. I thought she left because we go in and out through the front door so much but she's back sitting on her nest. I hope she stays and I get to take pictures of her babies. Now for the miracle of the day. I went walking with Heather. We did it. We went down on the road to Woodland Hills and walked along the road. It was hard for me but I just kept putting one foot in front of the other and made it. We walked for about 1 1/2 miles. We are just going to keep doing it until we can go forever. Then I went down to Lynn's to help her with her genealogy. We got so engrossed in finding her people I didn't even know it was 2 hours later. That's what genealogy does for you. You really do lose track of time. Then Dean called me this morning to see if I can get some names ready for them to take to Colorado at the end of the month so the girls can do baptisms for the dead with their cousins. I think I will see if I can work on Amie's lines. I think it would be good if all the cousins did ancestors in the Christley line. I paid my bills today also. I am such a procrastinator when it comes to sitting down and doing it. But it's done. I also made yams fries to go with the chicken John made. I cooked them too long and they needed to be turned but now I know. I loved them at Dean and Amie's.  I will perfect them cause they are delicious.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for the opportunity I have to do work for the dead. I know this work is so important and there are so many people in Spirit Prison waiting for us to find them.
2 Nep 6 - 2 Nep 9  I like the part in 2 Nep 6:7 where it says "for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me."

Glad That's Over

I am glad my lesson is over. I get a little stressed and by the time I get more comfortable the time is over. But it is good because 3 people came up to me after and wanted help with their genealogy so that's a success. After church I went to visit mom. She couldn't stay awake very long so I finally left and came home and took a little nap. I think Women's Conference kicked my fanny because I'm still tired.
John made dinner for us and I worked on genealogy. I am matching my people in Roots Magic with New Family Search. That's going to be a long process. I have over 10,000 names in my database so I'll be working on it for awhile. Now I'm blogging and going to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for the opportunity to teach. It makes me grow whether I want to or not. Heavenly Father knows what I need so I'll do what I'm asked.
2 Nep 4 - 2 Nep 6  I wonder if Nephi and his people felt the same joy and peace in their Temple as we do in ours. How wonderful that they were able to build one for themselves.

Preparing My Lesson

Snow Storm in April.
Cashew Chicken made in my electric Wok
Can I say stressful day!! I have to teach in Relief Society tomorrow and I have struggled all day trying to put together my lesson. After praying very hard it started to come together. I hope it goes well. And I was very tired today, probably from all that walking for the last 2 days. But I did manage to make Cashew Chicken for the family for dinner. Then I talked forever on the phone with Kaylyn. I love that lady. And then I talked on the phone forever with my cousin Ruth. So I am going to bed now so I can get up early and make sure my lesson is okay.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for Kaylyn and the opportunity I had to talk with her today. She always makes me feel good. She is a blessing from Heavenly Father. We have been through some pretty intense things in our lives.
2 Nep 3 - 2 Nep 4  I love the way Joseph Smith is described in verse 7 as a "choice seer, esteemed highly". That is what we all think of him. We love him because he was a choice seer and we do indeed esteem him highly. I love that!

Lazy Day

Lunch Yesterday I made a Keto Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole for dinner. AJ liked it but not Janna. Oh well. So today I had it for lunc...
