Curtains Up

My big bedroom.
Tommy hung my curtains for me.

Today Bailee and I went to Penney's to get a set of sheets for my bed. I can't find a fitted bottom. It's somewhere but who knows where. When we got back I washed them all and put them on my bed. I also washed the sheets on my guest bed so it's all ready for John. Slowly but surely things are going together. Tommy and I decided our bedroom is huge. We made it big so Tommy can have his TV in there and watch whatever he wants. Our taste in shows is just not the same.
We lost Pegasis today. She disappeared this morning and hasn't returned. Bailee was really upset. She loves that kitty. Maybe she'll find her way back.
Janna came home for lunch and Garth came over to work with her horse for an hour. He says she is getting better. Janna works with her every night when she comes home from work and I think it's paying off. She really is a pretty mare. Janna got her in Utah when she was a baby.
I am making Spaghetti for dinner so I'm going to go next door and start. I'm going to post this and just say the rest of the evening I'm going to relax.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my sweet daughter. I love her with all my heart and wish her all the happiness in the world. I know she'll make it through this trial with flying colors.

Grandkids

My grandkids love to come and hang out with me. They come over and play on the computers playing games with me. Janna doesn't have Direct TV any more so they like to watch their shows at grandma's.
I think it's time to post that Janna and Scott are separated and getting a divorce. It's been a long road for my daughter but she feels good about it. It's amicable and for the best. Enough said!!
I didn't blog yesterday because I forgot, so I had to blog today. I've been touching up paint and we set up our bed so I have an extra comfy bed for my friends and family. It's finally got hot here during the day but the nights are so cool. The breeze blows through my house and feels so good.
I also got two of my sisters visited today. One more tomorrow and I'm done for the month. My partner had to work late so she couldn't do it with me so I went alone. That's it, over and out...
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for the strength and energy Tommy and I have been able to muster as we move stuff and work on this house. It's been good for us to do this even though sometimes it's hard. But the worthwhile things in life are not easy.

My Willow Tree

This is my Willow Tree. When I was young I went to visit my cousin Buddy. He had the most beautiful Willow Tree in his back yard. It was huge with long branches brushing the ground. I fell madly in love with this tree. So when we moved from Studio City to Acton I planted one in my front yard. When we moved to Arizona 10 years later it was getting very big. So I planted two in Show Low. When I moved from there they were getting big and beautiful. The first thing I planted in Elk Ridge was a Willow Tree in my side yard. When we moved from there it was huge. I would put my grandkids under it to take pictures. It was a feeding place for the deer and a shady place for the grandkids. We planted this tree in Idaho last year and I am going to watch it grow year after year until I leave this earth. Will there be Willow Trees in Heaven? I hope so. I'll plant one when I get there.
Yesterday I painted and just hung out. We got another load of boxes from storage. We now have a perfect pathway to our bed. Maybe today we can get it. Tommy also found the black plastic that he needed to put under the house in the crawl space. I took Austin to meet his coach at the Family Dollar Store so he could take him to his game in Firth. Ronnie was going to watch him and bring him home. Tommy worked on our closets so we can hang our clothes up. That's it....my day.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for nature today and my fabulous little Willow Tree. I get to look out my window and there it is telling me that we are starting again in a new place. I am grateful.

Bailee Talks In Sacrament

Janna and Bailee ready for church.
Molly matches my floor. Too funny.
Janna, Bailee and I went to church today. Bailee gave a talk and did a fabulous job. She didn't even seem nervous. You'd never know that all morning long she was in tears off and on because she had to give this talk. She just sat on the stand and looked oh so cute and gave her talk like an old pro. That's the way to do your first talk ever. And they spelled her name wrong on the program but that didn't bother her either
After church we hung out for awhile and Garth came over to help Janna with her horse. He showed her a couple of things she needs to work with him for the week. I guess she's pretty strong headed and pushes through everything with her head so Garth showed Janna how to work on the problem.
Tommy and I went to our storage unit and got a load of boxes. We are trying to make a path to our bed way in the back. It was good because I found some of my towels for my bathroom. Now I have lots of towels for our showers.
I also found my scanner. I want to start scanning pictures to scrap. After getting done with that we ate Turkey, Mashed Potaoes and Corn for dinner and Bailee and I went for a walk. What a gorgeous day it has been. Now I'm tired and going to bed.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for all the sweet sisters in our ward. I'm finally getting to know some of them and who they are.

Shopping for Church Clothes

My new quilt for my bed.
Janna riding again this evening.
 Austin jumping.
Today Janna, Bailee and I went shopping. We went to Walmart first for some groceries and then to JC Penney's for a church outfit for Bailee. We found her a cute dress and I got my bedspread for my bed. Janna found some tops for work and I found a blouse. We then picked up Harley at home and went to pick up Austin from baseball practice. Then on to Broulim's for my box of chicken I order at $1.69 per pound. Janna and I froze it all in bags. Now we are set for summer barbecues. Especially with Kathy and kids come. They love chicken. Then we went to Scotty's for food for the animals and I got a paint brush and some small containers with lids for paint. Then I can just snap the lid back on and it will keep. I can't hardly handle the 5 gallon buckets. After all that shopping we all needed some rest. I worked around the house a little bit putting thing back together.
Janna, Tommy and I went out to mexican food for dinner and brought burritos back for the kids. They didn't want to go. Silly kids.
Janna rode her horse again and Austin jumped on the trampoline. It was a beautiful summer evening. So very peaceful. I think that was my day. Oh, and I also helped Bailee prepare a talk for tomorrow on loving you neighbors for Sacrament. She is a little nervous giving her first talk but I told her she would do just fine and just to look at her mom and me. That's my day and now it's time for bed.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the Gospel and that Bailee is willing to give this talk. It really helps us grow and I think that's what Heavenly Father wants us to do.

Friday's Are Good

Beautiful scenery that matches this beautiful horse. Janna's pasture.
Texting on a horse. Who would have thought...
 Harley the cowgirl.
I couldn't resist taking a picture of this baby.
Isn't Janna just the cutest thing.
Austin got the giggles on his horse.
Janna and Austin having a serious conversation.
 Harley and Austin having fun.
I vacuumed my master bedroom getting ready to move in my big bed. Tommy and I have decided that the queen one we have is pretty darn comfy. We'll have to see how we like our big one. I also organized some stuff in my bathroom. I have the best drawers. It seems like I have tons of space but I'm sure before I'm done I have them all filled up.
Tommy is working on our front porch. We have to have our porches on and our kitchen sink hooked up and we can get our final. Just waiting on the cabinets, please, please be soon....
I touched up paint again where I had fixed the holes and worked some more on finish stuff.
Janna and I went grocery shopping and to the storage unit to find my bath towels. No such luck. I did find one so now I have 4 so I'm good. Two for each bathroom.
Janna and I made hamburgers for dinner and this evening Janna and Harley went out and played with the horses. They have so much fun together laughing and riding. Austin joined them later and rode Summer. She is the most gentle horse ever. Perfect kids horse. Now I'm watching television with Tommy and them I'll be going to bed.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my delightful daughter. I'm glad we are friends as well as being mother and daughter. I am blessed beyond measure.

More Caulking

My master bath is done.

I put all the silicone caulk around my shower and tub on the inside. The caulk I put around my window sills was much easier to work with but I was patient and got it all done. Now we can take showers in our own house. I only need mirrors and a towel rack and they are completely done. That's what I did today. I just kept plugging away at it until I finished.
The kids played with friends all day and just hung out. They are the best kids.
I also had to fix some spots around my outlets that the drywallers had cut a little too big. I guess they usually fix it when they tape but we had different tapers so it didn't get done. But I know how to fix stuff so we are good.
I talked with my friend Kathy today. It was so nice to chat. We are planning our little vacation in August. I'm getting excited to see her and talked until the wee hours of the morning (as if I can stay awake).
That has been my day. I'm heading for bed now. So goodnight...
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for my friend Kathy Porterfield. She has been my bestest friend for a long time. We always said we were really sisters but got separated and came down to different families. I love my friends...

God Gave Me A Rainbow Today

I looked out my window tonight and this is what I saw. A beautiful rainbow. It was gorgeous.
I am so sore and tired tonight I can hardly move. I spent the day caulking window sills and helping Tommy put in our vanity in our master bath. I have found out that when I get up and down all day long it makes my poor old body sore. But I am half way done so every ache is worth it.
I took Austin to his baseball game and dropped him off so Janna could pick him up. It was rainy and I guess it started late due to the rain. But his team won so he was happy. Now I'm very tired and going to bed so I can get up and finish all this caulking tomorrow.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for this wonderful rainbow I was able to enjoy this evening. God is good to me!

Hanging Out In The Barn

My wonderful plumber installing my sink.
This momma goat is so naughty she won't let her baby nurse so Harley puts her in a corner and makes her let them. What a kid. She knows her stuff...
Janna is riding her horse Cody Lee.
Mom and daughter doing what they love.
Janna is making Cody Lee behave. She always knew how to make a horse mind.
Lowe's called Tommy this morning and said our vanity cabinets were in so Tommy went and picked them up and installed them. We had to cut the sink top off 1/2 inch on each side so it would fit in the opening. But we got it done. Now I have some touch up painting to do where we messed it up.
It has been a sunny and wonderful today. I have enjoyed the sunshine so much.
Kathy sent me a text message to say she is coming on the 15 of July. So I am getting ready. It will be nice because my bathroom and kitchen will be done.
I spent the evening watching Janna and Harley ride their horses. It was fun to see them. I love to watch horses. I have always loved to watch them and it was really fun to see these two ride.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for this little farm and all the fun we have taking care of the animals.

Skinny Janna

Skinny Janna enjoying a Sunday afternoon.
Bailee always has a kitten to play with. She loves her kittens.
Austin is playing with his kitten named Cat. How original...LOL
I took these pictures of Janna today. She has lost 44 lbs and is looking so good. Of course, I always thought she looked good. I was very bad today and didn't go to church. The kids went with their dad and Janna took her dad to play golf for Father's Day and I couldn't get my rear in gear to get ready. Bad me. Now I have to repent and make sure I go next week. We spent the day just hanging out. I caulked my tub in the hall bathroom and it looked so good. Then I looked at my caulking gun and realized I was using the stuff for my window sills. What the heck! Now I get to pull it all out and put the right stuff in. I really should learn to read labels before starting a job.
I got a text message from Kathy today. She is coming out on July 4th with the kids. Janna's kids are so excited. They can't wait for the fun to begin. I feel some scrapping coming on with my sweet niece.
That's been my day. So now I'm going to hug my pillow and dream some sweet dreams.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the big beautiful skies in Idaho. Tommy and I sit in my office and look out the window at the horses grazing in the pasture and the beautiful mountains in the distance. Heavenly Father's hand is in all things no matter where you live.

Janna's New Car

Austin, Bailee and their friend Spencer playing "Capture the Flag".
Janna and her new car. Doesn't she look happy....
Yesterday Janna and her dad went shopping for a car for her. The Rondevouz is just about ready to quit and her excursion is a huge gas guzzler so she's looking for something that is front wheel or all wheel drive. And today she found it. It's a used Dodge Charger with 30K miles. She is walking on air. And she traded in both cars. That's what we did all day.
The kids played "Capture the Flag" in the backyard. They love this game. When they get tired of it they play Mario Brothers on the WII.  They are having a great summer playing night games and just having fun.
Today I talked to my dear Aunt Marie. She is doing pretty good. And I called my long time friend Debbie. We have been friends for 40 years. I hope she can come visit me soon. I really miss seeing her.
The kids came over and watched movies with grandpa tonight. I finally told them they had to go home so we old people can get our rest. I do love them dearly. They are fun.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Heather. I got to talk with her today. She is doing well and will soon be home. I love her to pieces.

Shopping for Groceries

Today was a good day. I did have a sore throat and a small ear ache. That's probably why I have been so tired. But I'm feeling better today so I must be on the mend. I organized stuff and Tommy installed our sink in the laundry room. Then Bailee and I went grocery shopping. She is so fun. She find the cheapest product for me. I'm teaching her to be frugal like my grandma and mom taught me. She is a quick learner.
Janna came over and watched a little TV with me. I forgot to blog yesterday that we had our Dish Network hooked up. Tommy was having withdrawals from Fox News. So now he can watch it again.
That's been my day. I told Janna that I was very content living in my little house and having the grandkids come over all day and hang out with me.
I also had my visiting teachers come. One is Katie and I think the other one was Christie but I'm not sure. I'll have to look it up on the ward site. They were very young and so cute. I enjoyed there company and they gave me the lesson. It was very nice. Now it's time for me to go to bed.
Grateful Statement: So grateful today for my kids. I have been thinking about them all day. I love each of them with all my heart. I am grateful they were given to me.

Austin's Last Baseball Game

Today I didn't feel very well again. I was very tired so I took naps and vacuumed and cleaned a little. I must have a little bug. But it will go away. I took Austin to have his pictures taken and then to play his last game. One of the mom's took their pictures and the boys wanted to take them in this tree. They only charged $5 for a individual and a team one. That covers only the printing. They know how to help out the parents in this economy. I had to leave before Austin started to play because I started feeling bad again. He got a ride home with the neighbors. I wish I would have been able to stay and watch him play.
Janna took Harley to 4H with her goat. She loved it. This was after they put Weed N Feed on Garth's lawn. Tommy is going to help him have a beautiful lawn.  He's on vacation with his family and Harley and Janna are taking care of his animals. He adopted our Goatie who now lives in a stall with Garth's dog. They are the best of friends. Too Funny!!
That's been my day and now I'm going to bed because I'm very tired. Tomorrow I will wake up all better, I just know it...
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for all my many blessings. I am so blessed with so many things. They are too numerous to name. But my most precious blessing is my membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I truly don't know what I would do without the knowledge of where we came from, why we are here and where we are going. It gives me direction and makes me try harder to do better.

Tassie Two is now Prince

Today was another wonderful day. Tommy installed our shower doors in my bathroom. They are wonderful. He did a marvelous job. What a guy!! I cleaned the construction mess from our tub enclosure in my guest bath. Tommy hung the shower rod so I could hang my shower curtain. I also did laundry, cleaned and organized some more. I took the kids to YW and Scouts. They had so much fun they didn't want to stop playing. I took this picture of Tassie Two that I had to rename Prince because it turns out she is a he and you can't name a boy kitty Tassie Two.  And I made Potato Soup for dinner. It was very yummy. I added corn to it so it was like a chowder. Now it's time to go to bed and get my rest.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the beautiful skies in Idaho. They are so blue and with gorgeous clouds. I am grateful for Heavenly Father's creations that I get to enjoy.

Relaxing Monday

Today was a very relaxing day for me. I cleaned all the construction mess out of my shower so Tommy can install shower doors. I hope we know how. I need to google it. Then we'll know how. I organized stuff and clean and vacuumed.
At 5pm I took Austin to his ball game in Idaho Falls. We like to never found the fields. We finally had to ask at Deseret Books by the Temple. The instructions on the flyer said "North of the Temple by the river". What? I don't know where north is up here. That would be the way to Canada. I could have figured it out in Utah, but not up here. But eventually as we were driving up and down streets Austin spotted the fields and we were only 3 minutes late. He is so fun to be with. We can always laugh at something.
That was my day and may I say a very good one. Now I'm tired and going to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for Austin. He is so fun and loving. He gives me about a million hugs a day. And he tells me he loves me every day. What a kid!!

Going to Church

Janna, Bailee, Austin and Harley went to church with me today. It was very wonderful. All Harley's friends came up to her at church and really welcomed her. I hope she will want to go more. I don't know how Janna got her to go but I'm glad she did.
We came home and went to storage and got my comfy couch so I have a good place to sit and relax. We were using camping chairs and they were not so good for my back. But now I'm a happy camper. I made chili for dinner and we relaxed and had a great evening. The kids come over to my house all the time to see me. They are too funny.
That's been my fabulous Sunday and now it's time to go to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for Harley and her desire to go to church. I love her and want the very best for her. Actually I want the very best for all my grandkids. They are the joy of my life.

Farm Life

Harley is teaching Maggie and Molly to herd goats.
Janna on the Skidster moving dirt so the irrigation water will stay put.
Momma and Babies in the pasture. What a fabulous site.
Today was a fabulous day. I felt awesome all day long and got lots accomplished. Tommy and I painted the interior doors and hung the three that were dry. Then we went to Lowe's again and got the shower door for my bathroom. I went out to the pasture this evening and took these pictures. I was so awestruck by the beautiful evening air and the horses grazing with their babies. I love this little farm.
Now it's time to go to bed and get my rest.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for Heavenly Father's creations. So many beautiful things to look at and appreciate. I am truly blessed to live here.

Moved Our Bed In

Our Guest Bedroom
 My Hubby Installing Toilets
Today we moved our bed into our guest room so Bailee can have her room back. She was so excited to be back in her room. I am excited to finish all the little stuff off as we wait for cabinets.
Tommy and I went on a date to Home Depot and dinner at our favorite little fish and chips restaurant in Idaho Falls. It was fun. I washed clothes in my new washer and dryer today. So wonderful. Now I'm waiting for my sheets to dry so I can make our bed and I bet my hubby will head straight for it. He's one tired man. And I hear a flushing sound so my toilets must be working (Wahoo!) We are getting there slowly but surely.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my wonderful little house. I love every inch of it. I am grateful that we were able to work hard and get it done.

Training Little Red

Harley and Red in a training session...
 Halter Broke
 Going back to his stall.
So today wasn't so much better. I still feel yucky. Like when you are getting sick but don't know what you have. But I'm still getting up and doing stuff. It was raining this morning and grey and gloomy. Maybe that had something to do with it. I finally took a nap and felt better when I got up. I washed my lettuce and put it in my bowl so we can have salads. I made beans for dinner and am going to make a Jamacian Corn Bread that Morgan (Kaylyn's daughter) put on her blog.
I took the above pictures of Harley training her baby horse. He is so gentle and she can just about do anything to him. I think he is just the cutest thing ever.
And they delivered my appliances today. I took pictures, of course. We are waiting got the 4 cabinets we had to order and we can put my kitchen together.
My Dishwasher
 My Washer and Dryer
Water Softener and our awesome plumbers.
 Fridge and Stove
I took Austin to his make up baseball game tonight and Janna is going to watch him and bring him home. The corn bread was wonderful. So now I have a new favorite recipe for Corn Bread. Now it's time to go to bed and get my rest.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my Tommy. He was able to hook up my appliances for me. It's good to have a hubby that can do all this stuff.

Smores Page

I worked on this page yesterday and finished it this morning. I am back to scrappin again and it's fun and I don't care if my pages seem to all look the same. The pictures are there and that's the important part.
I'm not feeling very good today so it's been hard. And of course, I have no patience and the all the kids in the neighborhood have to congregate at our house and play the wii and have fun and laugh. I have to get up the courage to take Austin to his baseball game. But tomorrow will be better, I just know it. Tommy worked on window sills today, but Janna and I didn't get enough lumber so he will have to go back tomorrow and get some more. The plumbers are finishing up their stuff and then they will be all done. The house looks so ready to move into. Just have to install the bathroom stuff and wait for the cabinets.
Well, I'm home from Austin's 2 1/2 hour game. He loves to play baseball so it was worth the effort. Tommy made dinner for us and now it's time for me to go to bed.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for grandkids that will forgive me when I lose my patience and know that I love them all dearly.

Carpets Almost Done

Harley and Austin playing wiffle ball in the front yard.
 Austin and Jonathan
Melanie, Harley and Bailee
 Melanie and Bailee
Garth just has to finish my closet and he will be done with my house. It looks so good. I love my carpet. It's soft and squishy. I paid bills and balanced checkbooks today. It always takes me awhile. I also made Alfredo Sauce and Foccacia Bread for the kids for dinner. It was yummy.
The kids had a late night with their friends. They watched movies, popped corn, jumped on the tramp and played baseball. They have so much fun just being kids.
I talked to Kathy and they are coming out in July to spend some time with us. The kids are super excited to see their cousins. Becca and Harley have been texting and getting excited. It will be so nice to have two houses to hang out in. And my house WILL be done by then.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for the laughter of these sweet kids. I am grateful I am here to hear it. I love all my grandkids.

Lazy Day

Lunch Yesterday I made a Keto Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole for dinner. AJ liked it but not Janna. Oh well. So today I had it for lunc...
