Teaching

This week has been a week of getting my lesson ready for Relief Society. The Bishop decided that the organizations would teach and we wouldn't have a combined lesson with the Priesthood. What???
So I did one of my least favorite things.  TEACH... But it is done and went pretty well. If only I didn't get so stressed.
I managed to get all the visiting teaching changes handed out. Now everyone has a partner so they can visit teach in June with a partner. That is probably the hardest part of this calling is keeping visiting teaching going. When someone moves out it's the domino effect.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for all my many blessing. Sometimes I focus on the hard things and not the blessings in my life.

Sabbath Day

 Gracie 1

Gracie 2

I went to Ward Council Meeting and then to all my meetings. They blessed the Stucki baby and there was a ton of people there. Preston Floyd taught our Gospel Essentials class. He is our new Ward Mission Leader. He will be awesome.
Came home and finished these pages of Gracie. That's been my Sunday.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the Sabbath. I love to take the Sacrament and remember what my Savior has done for me.

Buying Plants

Gracie and the Dogs

 Tomato and Pepper Plants

Seeds and Onion Sets

I planted my Zucchini and Spinach this morning and went to the nursery in Rigby and got the stuff to finish my garden. By the time Austin and I got home the clouds were starting to come. We had a downpour so I guess Monday will be the day I plant the rest of my garden.
This morning I looked outside and there was Gracie under the Tramp with the dogs. The dogs are very good with her. But they do love to steal her crackers if they can.
I made Salmon Patties and Fried Potatoes for dinner. Janna did my dishes so I am done for the night.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful that I can plant a garden. I am blessed to have a sweet husband that will help me with it.

Temple Day

Sue and I went to the Temple today. It was good to finally get back. I left my recommend home when I went to Arizona so I couldn't go to the Gilbert Temple.
I was pretty tired and sleepy today so I didn't do much this afternoon.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for Temple. I receive so much inspiration when I go. What a blessing for me.

On to Rigby

I got up ate my muffin and I was on the road again. I made good time and had lunch with John at Denney's in Springville. Back in my car and I headed home.
When I walked in the door Gracie just beamed and ran to me with her arms out. Now that's what makes a great grandma happy.
I made scrambled eggs and toast for dinner and watch a missed episode of American Idol and went to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for my little Gracie that loves me. What a blessing she is!

Heading to Kanab

Canyons

Glen Canyon Dam

Wahweap Marina

The "Royal Inn" (not)

I got up, packed my car and off I went to Kanab. It was an uneventful trip. I stopped to take pictures at Glen Canyon. I went to the store and got a Caesar Salad for dinner and ate in my room. Then it was time to lay down and relax. There was a huge hail storm that I thought was going to take out my windshield. But it moved away and all was well.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for safe travel. I feel watched over and protected. I am blessed!

Going to Church with Johnnie

Another Selfie

John took me to church 1/2 hour early today so I had to take a Selfie. I do believe he is beginning to like them. Look at that smile.
Church was good. We went to Sunday School and I went to Relief Society. We came home and ate the Roast Beef and Sweet Potatoes Johnnie had put in the Crock Pot this morning. It was so delicious.
Johnnie had to go to bed early so he could get up at 2am to go to work. He was probably and hour early. LOL
I went over to Jake's to visit with Ruth and family. It was pretty fun. But I don't see too well at night so it was a tough drive home. Narrow two lane roads are hard on the eyes.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to come stay with my brother. What a blessing he is in my life.

Prescilla's Funeral

Grant, Jason and Grandkids

 Shannon Giving Comfort

 Four Generations

Johnnie and I got up this morning and went to the cemetery. We got there plenty early because my brother always wants a good parking space. He hates to have his picture taken and for punishment for bringing me out here an hour early I took Selfie with him. (And yes I posted this crooked smile picture of me with no hesitation.)

Selfie of Kleenex Box

My Brother

The service was so sad. Those little grandkids cried and cried for their grandma. We know she is in a wonderful place but it is still so sad she is gone.
After the service we went over to the church for a luncheon. I visited with Bud and Frankie.
Then Johnnie and I were off to Basha's for a little shopping. I sneaked in another picture of him.

Shopping

We came home and had Biscuits and Gravy and settled in for the night. It was a sad day to say farewell to Prescilla but good to visit with my family.
Kenny and Danny came over for a visit and brought me some wonderful brownies that Shaun had made.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for this wonderful family that I grew up with. Love abound between us all.

Heading for Show Low

Bailee and Red

Ethel and I got up and puttered around all morning. I made this page of Bailee. One more page done.
Then it was off to the White Mountains. I dropped Ethel off at Jake's and headed to Johnnie's to spend the night.

Johnnie Cooking Away

John made Shrimp and Fries for dinner and it was yummy. Then it was off to bed for a good nights sleep. I got my very own bedroom thanks to Julene. She got it all ready for me.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for this brother of mine. He is so sweet and I am so blessed that he is my big brother.

Shopping and Scrapping Again

 Cooking

Loved

Today Ethel and I went to Walmart again and then to Sam's club for something for Della. Next was Pet Club for dog food. We went to KFC for lunch and then it was home sweet home for a much needed nap. We made Corn on the Cob for dinner. Ruth came over and we got her garden planned for next year on smartgardener.com. What a wonderful program.
Grant came over this morning and Pete came over tonight. We had some pretty good laughs.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the opportunity I got to come and hang out with my cousins. What a blessing to be able to travel. I am blessed...

Pedicures

Ruth came over and we went to get our toes done while Ethel took her dog to Phoenix. I also found 2 skirts at Walmart. I knew they would come around eventually. I love the long skirts they sell. Sure enough today was the day. We bought corn and had just corn on the cob for dinner. We talked and laughed some more. Then it was bed time.
Grateful Statement: I feel so blessed when I read my scriptures. I am so grateful for the wonderful book that Heavenly Father has made available to me to study and learn.

Visiting With Ruth

 Ruth

Ethel

Ethel and I went to the market and got stuff to make Stir Fry. Ruth came over after work to have dinner with us. We were really missing Prescilla. She always came to our dinners. It is always so good to visit with my favorite cousins. I just love them to pieces.
We talked and laughed and talked and laughed. What fun we had.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for these cousins of mine. What a blessing they have been in my live.

Shopping and Scrapping

 My Aunt Marie

Baseball

Driver

Ethel and I went to Penney's today so I could find some flip flops. I got a pair of capris and my flip flops. We went to Applebees for lunch so we could have the wonderful Oriental Salad. Then we went to Walgrens for Ethel's medicine.
We came home and I worked on scrapping more pages. I am on a roll so I'm not going to quit. Soon I will be caught up, I just know it. We are tired and we are going to bed early tonight.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my dear cousins. I love them all and have so much fun hanging out with them. I am blessed to have grown up with such good people.

Mother's Day

 Happy Mother's Day

My Fabulous Back Splash

I got a call from Janna this morning and she facetimed me. This is what she showed me. I was so surprised. Dean had helped pay for it and Dad and Janna had installed it. I love it. It is so pretty. Can't wait to get home and see it in person. Janna says it's better in person than the pictures.
Dean called me to wish me a happy Mother's Day and he sent me a video from that he recorded from Hailey's skype for Mother's Day. She called me her "white grandma" and told me she loved me.
What a fantabulous day I have had.
Ethel and I took JW and Debbie to the airport tonight so they could catch their plane to Mexico.
Now I'm tired and going to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my family and all they do for me. I am so loved it makes me want to cry. I am blessed!

Heading to Phoenix

Started out in rain and snow.

 Cloudy skies in Flagstaff

Clear skies in Phoenix

I left Kanab at 9 in the morning. As I went to my car I realized it was raining. Then as I was traveling along to Flagstaff it started to snow. What the Heck....
I arrived in Phoenix around 4 without incident. My body was tired of driving for sure. Ethel was still at the church for Prescilla's luncheon. Her and Jake came home and we had a wonderful visit. Then Ruth came over and we chatted some more. Then around 10pm Della, Loren, Patricia and Hannah came to spend the night. We laugh and talked until 1am. Who knew I could stay awake until then.
Now its bed time. Off to hug my pillow.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my safe trip home. I am blessed to be able to take these trips.

Kanab

 My Comfy Bed

 Bluffs behind the motel.

Such beauty in these red cliffs.

I left Rigby at 7:15 and got into Kanab at 4:15. I went thru sunshine, cloudy skies and rain and them snow. But I made it safe and sound and all snuggled into my room. It was a long drive but I got out of the car ever so often to stretch my legs.
I met Dean in the Shopdo parking lot. They gave me a gift certificate for Penney's. I know where I am going to in Gilbert. Yep, it's the mall.
I called Tommy to let him know I made it. I am tired and going to watch TV until it's bed time. I need to get my sleep so the rest of my journey will be easy.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for a safe trip and beautiful scenery to enjoy. I am blessed...

Packing and Going to Winco

I took care of Gracie again today as she still has her temperature in the mornings. She keeps Tommy and I laughing all day long with her cute little ways.
I worked on laundry and packing my suitcase for my trip to Arizona tomorrow. 15 hours to Gilbert so I am only going to Kanab tomorrow and staying the night.
I also went to Winco this afternoon so I could get stuff for my family to cook while I am gone. Lots of frozen stuff for the kids. It was a job but I got it done and came home and put it all away.
This morning I went to visit Mary Studebaker. She is getting married on Saturday and wanted to show me her dress. She is so happy. Delwin is going to retire so they can do things together. I think she has found a wonderful man to marry. We had a good visit and Tommy babysat Gracie for me.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my friendship with Mary. We have had such good times together. I am so blessed to know her.

Visiting Ruth Petersen

Today I went with the Missionaries to visit Ruth. She promised the sisters that she would start reading the Book of Mormon. She is such a nice lady and so much fun. I think we could really become friends. I think a lunch date may be coming up.
I watched Gracie today and she kept me busy. Still has a fever. Who knows what from. I do love that little munchkin.
I have carrots and radishes coming up in my garden. I am so excited to come back from Prescilla Funeral and plant the rest of my stuff.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for missionary work and that I am blessed to be part of it.

Lazy Day

Salsa Making

Gracie had a temperature this morning so she didn't go to pre-school. She stayed home with Grandma and suddenly she started feeling so much better and was able to go outside and play. They sent Heather home early so she was able to take over.
I went with Aarin to visit Holly Petersen. She is an investigator and so sweet. We had a good chat and I took her some cookies.
I made Taco Soup and that was dinner.
My best accomplishment was finishing this page.
Now I'm very tired and going to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for missionary work in our ward. I love to visit with the sisters that are investigating the church. What a blessing to be part of this great work.

Yellowstone

 Taking a Walk

Buffalo Herd

Old Faithful

Heather, Gracie and I took a little day trip to Yellowstone to see the sites. We watched Old Faithful go off and lots of steaming pots. We saw Elk and tons of Buffalo. Parts of the road was closed so we were limited on how far we could go. We going at least 10 more times. I never tire of the magnificent beauty of this place.
We took a lunch with frozen wheat bread and after finally finding the picnic benches we found out we didn't have a spoon or knife to spread the Tuna Salad. Then we found out our bread had not thawed out and was still frozen. Lesson Learned, don't put frozen bread in an ice chest if you would like to eat it for lunch. So we had a hamburger at a restaurant.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for a kind and loving Father in Heaven who puts such an awesome place on this earth for me to enjoy.

Once Again a Beautiful Sabbath

We had two baby blessing today so they had to open up the back into the cultural hall. I just love to see these sweet little spirits blessed by their fathers. Christenson and Neville babies. I loved when the Neville baby was blessed. It was all elderly brethern. I think it must have been grandpas and uncles. They were all grey hair and walking slow. I was in awe at the Priesthood Authority in that circle.
Relief Society went well and Aarin gave a wonderful lesson on following the Savior.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for the Priesthood power that has been restored on this earth. It is an awesome sight to see.

Saturday Scrapping

Temple

Janna and I watch Gracie today as Heather had to work. I worked on this page in between checking to see what she was up to in the back yard.
 Her first mud pie!

Farmer Girl

This was how she was dressed today. She just followed us all over and played in her sandbox. She is just the cutest little thing ever.
Tommy barbecued hamburgers for us, so dinner was pretty easy. I am tired so it's a good thing.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful that I live on this little farm. What a blessing to be able to have a garden and chickens. It is truly just what I love. Blessing abound.

Prescilla Is In Paradise

Prescilla

Ruth posted on facebook this morning that her sister was back in the hospital having emergency surgery. I called Ethel and she told me that Prescilla had died that morning after complication of a hernia surgery. I could not believe it. She was only 63. Every time I go to Arizona we get together for lunch and some cousin time. I will miss her. I spent the day in disbelief. How could Prescilla be gone.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful that I know the Plan of Salvation. I know that Prescilla is not far away and I will see her soon. I will miss her!

Lazy Day

Lunch Yesterday I made a Keto Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole for dinner. AJ liked it but not Janna. Oh well. So today I had it for lunc...
