Dinner at Dean and Amie's

Our home teacher, Brother Gerber, came to home teach us this morning with his daughter Sarah. What a pretty girl. He had been trying to catch us for a long time but I was gone so much it took until today for him to finally get us.
After that I went to church by myself because Tommy has a nose bleed. Church was good. After church I finished making the salad I had started before church so I could take it to Dean and Amie's for dinner. I also made 1000 Island Dressing for Dean. He loves my dressing and I love him so that's a good exchange. I just love this wonderful family. Amie makes the best dinners and John is willing to go. What a changed guy.
Now I'm going to finish blogging and go lay down. Because I'm old and I get to do whatever I want.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my son Dean. I don't think I tell him how much I love him enough. As I was watching him on the stand today in church I just kept thinking how easy he was to raise and how faithful to the gospel he has always been. I love his testimony and his caring nature. He is my rock!!

Mom to the Rescue

I worked all morning getting my Wishblade cutting vinyl. It was a comedy of errors. First off my old computer that has the program on it completely went black. So I had to hook up another monitor to it and it worked! Then I couldn't get the Wishblade to recognize the com port that I had it plugged into. Finally got that figured out then I couldn't find my blade caps. I needed a blue one instead of a pink one as it was cutting with too much pressure. Looked forever and finally found my tin box with all the caps in it and could finally cut out my project. I'm leaving it all hooked up and not moving a thing so I don't have to do this again.
John and Molly went for a walk before the storms started. Thank goodness he took my phone with him. He called me from the Spanish Fork Golf Course so I could come and get him. When I started down the hill it was black and pouring over Spanish Fork. All the was to the Golf Course it was raining buckets. They had been sitting under a tree waiting for me. Molly was a little wet on the bottom from jumping in puddles. She loves her walks. I am amazed at how far those two walk everyday. I just wish I had that stamina.
I am now passing out candy to the jillions of kids that come trick or treating. What cute little things they are. At 8pm the lights go out and the candy stops. Time for all good goblins to be in their houses!
Grateful Statement:  I am so grateful today for my son John. He is so good to me and does whatever I ask of him with a willing heart.
Section 52 - Section 57  I didn't remember that W.W. Phelps had been called to write books for little children in the church.

1st Reunion Page

Heather and I walked this morning around in Salem 4 times. It was tons easier than before so I think I am coming back. I am so glad. I thought I had lost all my progress from my vacations.
I came home and did laundry and worked on this page. I love scrapbooking pictures. I brings back all the memories of the fun time I had with my family. More pages will follow.
I am going to try to keep doing pages as I have so many to do. It just seems like I have too much fun in life and take too many pictures. But I love every minutes of it.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for this wonderful extended family I belong to and how much I love them and they love me. It's good to go back to your roots and relive all the wonderful memories everyone has to share. That's why I am grateful for reunions.
Section 51 - Section 52  The Lord wanted the saints to live the gospel and share it in Ohio as if they would be there for a long time. In verse 17 that's what it means when it says "act upon this land as for years"

House Plans are Okay!!

Heather and I went walking this morning. We only went 2 times around because we didn't have time but we did it. I got up and went. And I felt much better today than yesterday.
John and I went grocery shopping because there wasn't one piece of fruit in this house and very few vegetables. So I got lots of fruits and veggies for us so we can eat healthy. Then I worked on my genealogy again and made a jello fruit salad for dinner. That's been my day.
John took Molly for a 3 hour walk today and she managed to get into some stickers. Tommy told John to just cut all the stickers out. Now look what she looks like. I told them she isn't the kind of dog that you just chop her hair off. She's queeny stuff and needs to be treated so. And she's very dirty. And she hates having her picture taken. She will hardly look at the camera. Poor Molly!!
Janna called tonight to let me know she had been to the County and they said there was no problem with our house plans. If there would have been I would have given all this up and gone to live in a tent somewhere. Just joking. But that was good news so now we can build our little add on to Janna's. Tommy is ready to build something. It will be so good when we aren't so strapped for money. Heavenly Father loves me....
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my change of mood so I could get up and feel good and go walking. I hate depression. But I know it always goes away eventually.
Section 50 - Section 51  In verse 24 it says, "That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day." I love the way this verse tells me that as I study the scriptures I will gain more and more light and a stronger testimony.

Finishing Relief Society Project

It was so cold when I got up this morning I just couldn't walk. So I called Heather and asked her if we couldn't walk later. That was good for her so we arranged to meet at 1pm. Then at 10am Michelle came over to help me finish the Relief Society project I have been working on all year. Susan joined us and we had a good time. I am finished with this project unless someone new moves into our ward. What a relief.
Then I met Heather down in Salem to walk and can I tell you how very hard and difficult it was for me. Could I have lost all the ground I gained in 3 weeks time? And I even walked here and there during the three weeks I was flitting around on vacation. I guess it's ground zero once again but I won't give up!!
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for a friend like Heather that is willing to walk with me and keep me motivated. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have went walking today.
Section 49 - Section 50 I had forgotten about Ann Lee who the quakers thought was Christ. And in verses 18 and 19 it talks about eating meat. We are not to abstain from eating it.

Hanging Up Our Aprons

I had a presidency meeting this morning so I had to get things straightened up and take my shower. We got a lot of things taken care of. I just love serving with these ladies. The make me want to do better.
Tommy and I went to the cannery for our last day. We have decided we need a break. We have served this mission for 3 years and feel it's time to move on. We are still going to be substitutes but we won't have to get substitutes every time we go somewhere. They had missionaries tripping over each other so Tommy and I left early and went over to Nancy Ekins to take a book the ward had signed for her. She loves her new place and Alton is doing well. It was nice to get one of her wonderful hugs. I am going to retire and get off this computer and go to bed. I have worked on genealogy today and I'm tired of looking at this screen.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today for Relief Society. To watch all the wonderful service that goes on in our ward it inspires me to do better. Susan is the best example of this. She is always taking dinner to people.
Section 47 - Section 49 John Whitmer did not want to be the church historian but the Lord called him to this calling. From 1831 - 1838 he wrote 85 pages. That's a little over 10 pages a year. Not even one a month. How much church history was not recorded because he wouldn't do the calling the Lord called him to. He left the church and took his records with him. The church obtained a copy of the record after his death.

Sour Dough Starter

I was pretty tired today. Too much having fun... I didn't walk today due to the weather. I pretty much messed around all day not accomplishing anything. I did make Sour Dough Starter from a kit I bought at the Bosch store in Phoenix. We'll see if it's as good as the one I had years ago. I also made Chile for dinner. I worked on genealogy off and on all day.
Ruth called me tonight to help her with the New Family Search. She is starting to do her ex-husband's family. No one is a member so she had lots of people to find. Now it's time to hug my pillow.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my warm, cozy house that I can be in when it's snowing outside.
Section 46 - Section 47  I love to read about all the gifts we are given by Heavenly Father.

Home at Last

I left St. George this morning at 5:30 am and drove home. It was really good to get home but I really did have so much fun. I went to church with Tommy and then after church, which was very good and uplifting, Tommy, John and I went to Dean and Amie's for dinner. Amie is such a good cook. She always serves us a delicious meal. Her dessert was so good. It was a mexican cake called "Tres LaLeche" and it was yummy. John and Tommy went to dinner last week also. John seems to really enjoy going down there. I got to see little Chloe. She really is beat up. But she could still jump up on the chair by me so I could pet her. I am now finishing this blog and going to bed. I am one tired old lady tonight!!
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for our ward. It's amazing how when you go to your own ward you just feel so at home. I love our ward members.
Section 44 - Section 46 In verse 44 it says "And then they shall look for me, and, behold, I will come; and they shall see me in the clouds of heaven, clothed with power and great glory; with all the holy angels; and he that watches not for me shall be cut off." I will be watching for him!

Vermillion Cliffs

Kathy and I got up this morning and headed out for St. George. We went a different way home that I had never traveled before. It was gorgeous. These Vermillion Cliffs and the Navajo Bridge were spectacular. I was so glad my brother Johnnie told me about going this way. It's also the way to go to the North side of the Grand Canyon where the glass cat walk is. But we didn't have time so I'm going to make Tommy take me on a little vacation to see it. If I ask him nicely I bet he'll do it for me. LOL!
We got into St. George about 5pm and stopped at In and Out and got hamburgers for everyone. We are tired old ladies. We have traveled 1600 miles on this vacation. We criss crossed Arizona all over the place and had a wonderful time. I love my bestest friend and really love the fact that Kathy is the best traveling partner ever. We stop everywhere and see everything. Fun Fun Fun!!
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today for the beautiful scenery I have been able to enjoy on this week long vacation. Heavenly Father is quite the artist.
Section 43 - Section 44 I have written  in the margins of this section that because the early Saints did not support Joseph Smith as the Lord told them while Joseph translated the Bible, Joseph had to stop often and couldn't finish and the manuscript ended up with the reorganized church. So sad!

Snowflake Temple

We started out our day with a trip to the Snowflake Temple. We did an Endowment Session. What a beautiful Temple. Lots of Navajo tapestry and beautiful paintings. I saw Donna, Della's daughter there. After the Temple we went and got a Chalupa for Aunt Marie and went and had lunch with her. Jake was there so we had a little chat, then it was off to Pinetop to visit Shawn, Kenny, Shelly and her babies. It was a great visit and I really enjoyed the company. Kathy got tired and went to take a nap in the car.
We came back to our room and Johnnie called to meet him at Trappers for dinner. Kathy didn't want to go so she stayed behind and took a nap. I visited with Johnnie and Phyllis and had dinner. I just love that brother of mine. We are now holed up in our room after Kathy and I went to get a Taco for Kathy and some Ice Cream for dessert. I am blogging and then watching TV and going to sleep.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my Aunt Marie. She has been the best Aunt to me all my life. She is just so sweet and loving to me.
Section 40 - Section 43 In vers 68 it says "Therefore, he that lacketh wisdom, let him ask of me, and I will give him liberally and upbraid him not." I have written in the margin, we are to pray for wisdom. I really need to do that.

Mogollon Rim on the way to Snowflake

We got up this morning and packed up our stuff and said our goodbyes with lots of hugs and off Kathy and I went. We drove up to Snowflake thru Payson along the Mogollon Rim. Such a beautiful drive. We had to stop and take these pictures. We went to Claysprings to visit with Aunt Marie. She just looked so very sweet sitting at her kitchen table making an apple pie with her walker close by. We helped her with the pie and visited while it baked and promised to come back tomorrow. We then went to Snowflake and checked into the Comfort Inn and rested for a minute. After we went to have dinner at Trappers Restaurant we went to visit Johnnie and Phyllis. It was a good visit and we promised to come back tomorrow but I knew my brother had to get up at 3am to go to work and Kathy and I were really ready for a good nights sleep. We are now back in our room and I am so ready to go to sleep. It has been a wonderful day.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the wonderful family I have. I love them all and it's so good to see them again. I thank Heavenly Father for such a wonderful brother and my sweet Aunt Marie.
Section 32 - Section 40  So much revelation given to Joseph Smith. The Lord was so mindful of all that was going on to restore the church.

Mesa Temple

I got up this morning and had a Tamale for breakfast. I must say they are better the second day than the first. So very good. We also made a cake last night from a recipe of Ruth's that was so good. So we also had to have a sliver of cake for breakfast too. As I was reading my scriptures I saw the print out of the information for the Gila Valley Temple and decided I'd better call them to see if we needed to make an appointment or not. The lovely man on the recording informed me that the Temple was closed for maintenance. I am so glad that I called. It was a 2 1/2 hour drive down there so inspiration saved me once again.  So Kathy and I are going to the Mesa Temple with Ethel and Ruth. It was wonderful. We did four endowments and had a wonderful time. After the Temple we went to Mexican food and then to Joanne's where I found a pattern for the perfect Temple dress. I really need a new one. Mine is getting worn out. Time for a new one. Now we are home just relaxing. It was a wonderful, spiritual day!!
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for a Heavenly Father that watches over me all the time. For the companionship of the Holy Ghost that will inspire me to make a phone call so that we four ladies didn't get in a car and drive such a long way only to have the Temple closed.
Section 30 - Section 31 What a comforting statement to Thomas B. Marsh where the Lord tells him "Behold, you have had many afflictions because of your family; nevertheless, I will bless you and your family, yea, your little ones; and the day cometh that they will believe and know the truth and be one with you in my church."

Tamale Making Night

I had a most fabulous day today. I went and got my hair cut by my cute cousin Ruth and had a pedicure with my cute cousin Ethel. I just felt pampered. Kathy and I went to lunch after all this and then to the market for the stuff to make Tamales.   We spent the evening making tamales, burning up a pot, eating chips and salsa and waiting for tamales to steam.  They were wonderful.  Very Yummy!
Grateful Statement:  Today I am grateful for my wonderful cousins that I love to spend time with.
Section 29 - Section 30  This section talks about the end of the world. How the sun won't shine and the moon shall turn to blood. I think it will be a scary time but if we are righteous we need not be afraid.

Grand Canyon Again and Deer Farm

Kathy and I got up and headed out for another morning at the Grand Canyon with a card in my camera. We are so glad we went back because we had totally missed Mather's Point. It was beautiful. After we finished looking at all the sites we took off for Phoenix. On the way to Flagstaff we stopped at a Deer Farm so Kathy could feed something. I thought these deer were going to eat her jacket. They just pushed her around everywhere. After we got through feeding the deer and looking at all the animals we continued on to Phoenix. It was an uneventful 4 hour trip. We were even able to manuever the freeways of Phoenix. We arrived at Ethel's and just hung out for the night. We were pretty tired from all the fun so we went to bed pretty early.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for freeways that make it easy to get from one place to another.
Section 24 - Section 29  It made me sad to see how Hiram Page was decieved by Satan with a certain stone. It is a lesson well learned. We can't have revelation for other people or the church.

Grand Canyon without Pictures

Kathy and I started out the day with a 30 minutes walk up the streets of Williams. We then came home and got ready for church. Kathy had asked some man in Taco Bell last night where the Mormon Church was and he told us where it was. Turns out he was in the Stake Presidency somewhere else and was just visiting so he wasn't sure what time it started but knew where the building was. So we drove over to the building and on the window was a sign that said it started at 10am. I'm glad we checked or I would have gone over at 9am. They had good speakers. Kathy and I enjoyed it.
Now for the tradgedy. Kathy and I went to the Grand Canyon and saw such beautiful scenery and deer and Elk herds and cute little squirrels that I took tons of pictures of. When we got back to our room after eating dinner I opened my camera to retrieve the SD card so I could put the pictures on my blog. To my utter dismay there was no card in my camera. What the Heck... So tomorrow we will be going back to the Grand Canyon to take pictures again. We hope to see all we saw today. The highlight was the huge Bull Elk and his 15 or so cows elks that were crossing the road in front of us. Mr. Elk got a little ticked off when half the cows got on the other side of the road. He was bugling and running up and down the side of the road trying to get his harem together. Then here come the park rangers yelling at the not so bright tourists that were out of their cars trying to take picturs of them. It was quite the scene of which I had taken many pictures from inside our car. I really feel bad about those pictures that weren't really taken. But oh well, tomorrow is another day.
Grateful Statement: Today I am so grateful for God's Creations. I so enjoyed the spectacular Grand Canyon. What beauty Heavenly Father has created for me.
Section 21 - Section 24 I wonder why Joseph Knight was given a different instruction than the others in Section 23. I need to research this and figure out why when I get home.

Las Vegas Temple and Hoover Dam

I got up this morning and walked about 40 minutes in Kathy's neighborhood. After walking we got ready to go to Las Vegas to go to the Temple. It was gorgeous. So pretty inside. Kathy and I did Inititories so we could get to Willams before dark. We drove over Hoover Dam and saw this new bridge they are just opened up. You had to take a bus to get on it and there was a jillion police all around to make sure no one went on it except the buses taking people. I guess it was a huge deal but we had no idea. The traffic was pretty heavy most of the way until we cross the dam. We arrived in Williams about 4pm Arizona time and we found the LDS church and had Kentucky Colonel for dinner. Then we went shopping at Safeway for food for tomorrow so we won't have to go shopping. We are now holed up in our motel room just relaxing and getting ready for bed. What a fun vacation and we are only in day 1....
Grateful Statement:  I am so grateful this day for such a good friend in Kathy. Her and I just have the best time together. We laugh and solve all the world's problems.
Section 19 - Section 21 The duties of the priesthood are explain in detail exactly how everything is to be done. You can't make a mistake it you follow His council.

Leaving for St George

I had a wonderful nights sleep again and feel great today. I have been praying that I would feel good so I could go on this vacation with my bestest friend Kathy. I ran down this morning without a shower (yuck) and let out Heather's doggies so I could come back and start getting ready to go.
I drove all the way to St George without getting tired. It was really fun. Now Kathy has cooked us a wonderful dinner and we have all our maps printed out and we are ready to go. So I guess it's good night so we can get up early and head out. Kathy is getting all her vitamins and pills ready to go. The older you get the more pills you have to take.
Grateful Statement :  I am so grateful for the safe trip I had down here today. I know that Heavenly Father watches over me always.
Section 18 - Section 19  In verse 46 it says "And after that you have received this, if you keep not my commandments you cannot be saved in the kingdom of my Father". I guess that about says it all. I had better be keeping His commandments.

Mary Englebright Collection

I'm feeling a little better today but still not up to par. I was able to do three loads of laundry and start getting packed for tomorrow.
Cindy called me and brought over some of her Mary Engelbright stuff she had and wanted to know if I wanted it. Of course I said "YES". I love her stuff. I think it's the bright colors and sweet patterns that just make me happy. I took this picture after I added the cute ones Cindy gave me. Aren't they just the cutest! What a wonderful friend I have down the street.
I tested out my camera again today thinking that maybe by some miracle it would fix itself so I'd have it for my vacation, and lo and behold I took the SD card out and put another one in and it worked. How's that for a miracle. Heavenly Father loves me...
I spent the day once again drinking orange juice and resting. I had a wonderful nights sleep so maybe I'll take some more Nyquil and see if it does the trick again.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful I am feeling better. I need to feel good for tomorrow so I can drive to St George to start a fabulous vaction with Kathy.
Section 17 - Section 18 What a privilege for Oliver Cowdery, David Whitmer and Martin Harris to be chosen to be witnesses to the Book of Mormon plates.

Good Old Cold

I woke up last night with a terrible sore throat. By this morning it was a full blown head cold. So today I have spent the day in bed drinking orange juice and sleeping. I hope I feel better tomorrow.
Grateful Statement: Today I'm grateful that I don't have a job to go to or a phone to answer and I can just put the covers over my head and sleep.
Section 13 - Section 17  Can you just imagine what it was like to see John the Baptist come down and confer the Aaronic Priesthood on Joseph and Oliver. What a wonderful sight that must have been.

Road Trip Page

We got up this morning and messed around until noon and met Janna for lunch and headed out to Bonneville High School where Hailey and Hannah were playing a soccer game. It was fun to watch them. I used Amie's camera to take pictures as mine is not working right now. I hope I got some good ones. I only need 6 or 7 really good ones so hopefully I was able to get some. When we got on the freeway and started home we did really well until we hit Lehi and the it was 10 mph all the way to Provo. I was a little sick of the car by then.
I am so glad to be home because I get to sleep in my comfy bed tonight. I made this page while I was at Janna's. I had a wonderful time with these grandkids going to Arizona.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today for Hailey and Hannah and the wonderful athletes they are. I love to watch them play. So much talent, it makes me proud.
Section 11 - Section 13  One of my favorite scriptures. Verse 7 says "Seek not for riches but for wisdom; and, behold, the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto you, and then shall you be made rich. Behold, he that hath eternal life is rich."

Play Ball Page and Going to the Architect

Janna, Tommy and I got up this morning and went to the architect to have her draw up the plans for our little addition onto Janna's house. She was a nice lady and had a cute house with a little garden with a sign that said "Grandma's Garden".  We are also babysitting one of Scott's nieces. She is a year old and into everything. But so very cute. She kept Janna up all night off and on. That's what babies do... We also went up to the wind turbines up on the mountains. They are so huge they have a door into the base and has steps all the way to the top. The propellors are enormous. We found out on the internet that they sell the power to Southern California Electric. Wouldn't you think they'd keep it local.
Then home to clean up the house and watch this little girl. Maggie really loves her and brings her toys to her thinking she can throw them for her. We went to a Mexican restaurant and brought lunch back. Yummy good. Janna knows the good places to go.
The mom and dad of our little visitor came home from hunting and brought Harley and Bailee with them and picked up Arian.
We took my car to a mechanic that Janna knows to get the real scoop. It has something wrong with the heads and will be major money to fix. So I'm not turning on the A/C and just driving it and taking it easy and see how long it will last. When it rains it pours always!!
I made waffles for dinner and it's time to relax....
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the knowledge architects have to make house plans and tie in roofs and make it look good.
Section 10 - Section 11 The Lord would not let Satan accomplish his "evil design" to change the 116 pages that were lost. It just proves to me again that the Lord is in charge at all times.

Going To Church In Idaho

Janna, Austin and I got up this morning and went to church. It was good to listen to everyone's testimonies. I'm so glad we finally got there. Janna's ward is the 16th and her Bishop is Harley's spanish teacher. He is very young. I was hoping someone would speak to Janna but no one did. Some sisters actually walked by her, looked her in the eye and kept on walking. It made me want to do better when new people come to my ward. Tommy was sick so he didn't go. Sunday morning sickness gets him alot. After church we just hung out and did nothing. I read scriptures and worked on scrap pages which I will post later. They really are cute.
Then one of Janna's horses got out so Janna and Dad spent the afternoon fixing fences. I made beans and corn bread for dinner. It was pretty good.
Now I'm going to finish this up and work on some more pages.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful that Janna went to church with me today. I loved sitting with her and Austin. I just felt Heavenly Father's love for me.
Section 7 - Section 10 I really like where the Lord tells Oliver Cowdery that if it be right his bosom will burn within him, and if it be not right he shall have a stupor of thought.

Austin's Pumpkin

We saw the girls and Scott off to hunting this morning and I made Janna some cookies. We cleaned house and watched 3 episodes of "The Closer". I really like that show. Then Janna and I went to Kings Department Store and Brolims for grocery and household stuff. We came home and worked on the plans for our little addition onto Janna house. Tommy made some good changes to our old ones that made it much better. We are off to Home Depot. Tommy's favorite store. And of course Austin got a pumpkin at Home Depot. Not the pumpkin patch but Home Depot. Go figure!
We are home now and I am going to go to bed because I'm tired. It has been a marvelous relaxing day for me just hanging out with Janna.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today for my dear hubby. I really don't believe I appreciate him enough. I've got to work on that.
Section 6 - Section 7  I really love verse 36 where it says "Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not." That is so comforting to me.

Walked in the Mist

Janna and I took the kids to school today and went to Jefferson County Lake where they have a walking trail. We walk 2.2 miles and the weather was fabulous. Overcast and a little damp. I didn't bring my good walking shoes because I didn't want to get them dirty in case we walked in dirt so my feet didn't feel as good as usual but we did it anyway. It was so fun to walk with Janna again. We used to walk when she lived in Utah. We even walked in the snow.
Then we ran all of Janna's errands and met Scott at the Chinese Restaurant that is so good in Rigby for lunch. Then on to grocery shopping for Scott's hunting trip. He is taking Bailee and Harley deer hunting. What a good guy.
Then after the kids got home from school we went to the mall so I could get Janna something for her birthday. She got a cute coat with a hood to wear to court. Bailee got bracelets at Claires and Austin went to a gaming store but didn't spend any of his money.
I took these pictures of Bailee and Austin with their little kitty Bailee found in the field. Scott calls it Hell Cat. It's very cute and just as ornery. Then I made Cowboy cookies and now it's time for bed...
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today for a darling daughter that loves her mom. She is just a delight to be around, and she took me to Applebee's, my favorite restaurant last night.
Section 3 - Section 6  I love in section 4 where it talks about embarking in the service of God. This whole section just makes my heart happy.

Starting the Doctrine and Covenants

I finally finished this page. I had a hard time choosing the paper and elements. I wanted to post this page today as I went to the Rexburg Temple today and had a bunch of baptism done and I did 10 Iinitiatories. I am so glad I went. I kept thinking I didn't want to go 'cause I was tired but I finally just got ready and went. It was a beautiful drive, a beautiful Temple, and a beautiful feeling once I walked in the front door.
I also started on the D&C today. I am reading all of the standard works.
I got home around noon and took a little nap. I straightened up Janna house and folded some laundry.
Now we are off to dinner and to watch Janna and Scott bowl.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for Temples and the wonderful work that is done inside them. And I'm grateful I am worthy to go and do the work for my ancestors.
Explanatory Introduction - Section 3 I love in section 2 where it talks of the hearts of the children be turned to their fathers. That's genealogy in a nut shell. We need to know our ancestors so when we meet them in Heaven we will know who they are.

Finished The Book of Mormon on the Way to Idaho

Heather and I walked this morning for an hour. We want to work up to going up Judy's road. That's a steep hill! I packed my bags and at noon we left for Idaho. I couldn't work on pages because it was too light in the car and the front seat was so comfy I just laid back and took a nap and finished reading the Book of Mormon. I started April 26 and finished today. I am quite taken with myself.
We arrived here about 4:30 and the girls were just getting off the bus and Austin was waiting for us. So nice to have someone so excited to see you. Here is Harley with one of her goats. I think goats are stinky but she loves them.
Tommy took the two little kids to piano lessons and I am playing on the computer. I have been sorting pictures and trying to get them to a manageable amount. It's hard because the kids are so cute I don't want to use all of them but it can only be a 2 pager.
Scott is making dinner while we wait for Janna. She had to go to court and do 2 home visits. My daughter the Probation Officer. Who would have thunk it!

Grateful Statement: I am grateful for Scott and Janna and the kids. They always make me feel so good!
Moroni 8 - Moroni 10 I can so relate to to Mormon "I dwell no longer on the horrible scene." It must have been so awful to see such carnage. I loved the end where he speaks of the power of the Holy Ghost and pure love of Christ. It made my heart feel better.

Girls Trip Page

I made this page today of Bailee and I going to St. George. We had so much fun. I went to the eye doctor this morning and got new glasses. I have computer glasses and reading glasses. My far away vision is good. Funny how my eyes keep changing over the years. Then at 12:30 I went over to Heather's and we worked on her genealogy. We are going to get some names ready to go to the Temple.
After that I scrapped awhile and then went to Walmart and then the cannery. We were pretty busy tonight. Lots of young women come in with their leaders to can for their ward. I love to see them have fun canning.
Now I'm tired and going to bed.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for New Family Search and Ancestry. com. It is such a great source of information for the families we are tracking.
Moroni 1 - Moroni 8 These were such uplifting chapters after all the war and destruction. I love how it talks of Charity and how "Charity Never Faileth". It is the pure love of Christ.

Friends Page

This is the second page I made yesterday while watching conference. I love that Bailee can be such a good friend. Her and Megan never argue. How cute are they, together making cookies and crafts.
Heather and I walked this morning and we were joined by Allison, Shamayne, and Suzanne. We walked for an hour and I was really beat when I got home. But I got my shower and went by Vanessa's to see if she would teach for us on Oct 24. She was so gracious and willing. I just love sisters like her. I also worked on some genealogy for a Relief Society meeting. I am trying to piece together the live of Prescilla Richmond who we think lived in the tiny log cabin in Payson. I just love to go on the hunt for people.
Tonight I have a lot of Sinus pressure so I hope I'm not getting an infection. I haven't had that for a few years. I used to get it all the time when my kids were little. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the wonderful rain that is falling as I am starting this entry. It smells so good and we need the moisture.
Ether 15 - Moroni 1  How could there have been so many people slain. In verse 22 says they were drunken with anger. The Lord had ceased striving with them. What powerful last words from Ether.

Conference Sunday

I loved listening to all the talks today. So many things to think about. And I took notes both days so I can go back and see who said what. It was awesome and I have been spiritually fed. I put a roast in the crock pot so after conference we could have dinner.
John took Molly up the mountains this afternoon. He ended up in the parking lot of Maple Lake. That was a long way to travel and I guess Molly tried to jump the river but didn't make it. She was a muddy mess by the time she got home so I had to give her a bath. She is all white and shiny. The bathtub was filled with dirt and the water was a dark brown.
This is a page I made while watching conference. I made another one that I will put on tomorrow. I just think these grandkids are so cute all dressed up to can. They really had fun.
Darell and Kathy are coming today and spending the night. Darell has a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Kathy and I had a wonderful evening talking as usual. We do have the gift of gab! Kathy and I planned our vacation for the 17 thru 24. We are going to have some fun. Now I'm tired and ready to go to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful that I really love to watch general conference. I can remember when it seemed a chore to watch all the sessions. Not anymore. I really look forward to them and I am grateful for my mighty change of heart.
Ether 14 - Ether 15  I just can't imagine what the smell must have been with all the bodies of men, women and children stacked up across the land. So very sad!

Conference Saturday

I listened to Conference today. The 10am session started out with the song "We Thank Thee Oh God for a Prophet". That started me crying because we are so blessed to have such righteous men leading us. Never is there anything but good that comes from them. I loved all the talks but especially the one by Jefferey R. Holland. The way he thanked all the members for their hard work and diligence. So moving!  And then President Uchtdorf. He is so funny and his message about slowing down was so timely. We are all going at too fast a pace. In the second session I love Gerrit Gong and his analogy of the mirrors. That we look both ways and we are grandchildren and great grandchildren one way and when we look the other way we are grandparents and great grandparents. He talked about his ancestors going back 35 generations (I think it was 35) to 1st Dragon Gong. I really liked Richard G. Scott when he said to be thankful that God lets us struggle for a long time before the answers come. It builds faith. I just loved it all. What better way to spend a Saturday.
In between conference I had John take me to the store so I could get a roast for tomorrow and pick up my prescription at Rite Aid. I also found the little log house by the City Building and took pictures of the plaque. It is teeny. How in the world did the pioneers raise their families in such a small place. I think we have too much.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for General Conference and all the messages that I heard. So many were just what I needed to hear.
Ether 13 - Ether 14  I love in verse 3 where it says the New Jerusalem will come down out of heaven. Can you imagine what that will be like!

Lazy Day

Heather and I walked three times around the long block. It was so much harder than going around the track in Salem. The hill by Lisa Bradshaw's just keeps on going. But we are going to stick with it until it gets easy.
John took Molly and went climbing in the mountains again today. They were gone 4 hours and I was beginning to get worried about them. But they finally came home safe and sound but Molly was a dusty little mess. Tomorrow I must give her a bath.
I spent most of the day breaking down kits and organizing them. Then I worked on a page that I hated so I deleted it and will start over again tomorrow. Somedays I just can't get into scrapping. Imagine that...
I also balanced my checkbook, and did my laundry. I made stir fried vegetable and chicken breasts for dinner. Now after such an exciting day I think I'm going to give it up. Short and sweet post.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for such a cute little dog that loves me. She just thinks I'm wonderful no matter what. Molly has officially stolen my heart.
Ether 12 - Ether 13  Wow, this whole chapter is just filled with stories about faith. I like where it says he will show unto us our weaknesses we can be made strong.

Lazy Day

Lunch Yesterday I made a Keto Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole for dinner. AJ liked it but not Janna. Oh well. So today I had it for lunc...
