Now I'm In Idaho Again

We left around noon to go to Idaho. Some man needed to come by the house so we were late getting started. It snowed on us most of the way but not too bad. After we arrived we all sat around and chatted then we went to Lucy's Pizzeria in Roberts, Idaho. One day I'll figure out where all these places are. Bailee just got out of the shower and Austin is eating left over pizza. What cute kids they are. I seem to be really tired from traveling tonight so I'm going to go and relax.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for these wonderful grandkids. They just love me so much and give me the best hugs. It's always good to see them.

Picking Up Harley

I got a call from Janna this morning asking if I could pick Harley up in Salt Lake at 2:30 and take her to her orthodontic appointment tomorrow at 8:30 am. They wanted to put bands on her braces so, of course I said I would love to. Tommy drove me up there and I ran over to the genealogy library to have my cards printed out from my latest find. Then we waited for the shuttle to bring Harley and took her to the cannery with us. We stopped and got her dinner before we went to the cannery and she played on my computer while we helped people can. We were busy so I didn't get home until 8:15 so I missed the Passover Dinner. Oh well, I guess you can't do all you want in life. Now we are home and I am blogging and now I can feel my pillow calling my name.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for this funny wonderful granddaughter. She just makes me laugh. She is just so silly and funny and sweet.

Doing Stuff Page

Today was a wonderful day. Just scrapping and relaxing. Did a little laundry, paid my bills and not much of nothing else. I love these days. No getting up and getting ready and going to work. I made this page today using a kit I have always hated. But I liked the papers so that's what I used. See what you can find when you go hunting. I went to visit mom this afternoon but she just couldn't keep her eyes open so I finally left her to sleep. Now I think I will plan my next page and go to sleep.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the beautiful weather we had. It just made me happy to go outside in the sunshine. God is good to give us these pretty days after a long cold winter.

Sunny Sunday

Today was just so sunny and bright. I thought it was a beautiful Sabbath. Lots of kids bore their Testimonies today in church. I just love to listen to them. They are so brave and cute. Lots of the Deacons bore their Testimony. It really was a great meeting. Kathy Pearce taught us in Relief Society. Her lesson on Elder Holland's talk made me want to read my Scriptures more. She did a good job. After church I was so very tired that I just laid down and didn't even go to visit mom. I just had no get up and go. Tomorrow I'll be sure to visit her. Now I'm going to go to bed and get some rest.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for lessons that make you want to do better. It's my reminder that I always need to improve.

Genealogy Library Hunting Rutherfords

I went to the genealogy library today by my lonesome. I went to Wayne County, Kentucky and got about fifteen books off the shelf, brought them to my table and opened up the first one. In it I found the marriages for two of the daughters so now I have their families. I also found a will book that had a genealogy of the other family and who they married. I was able to print out nine cards at the library and when I came home and started putting everything in my computer I found that I will have at least 15 more to do. What a fabulous find. I knew there was something up with the Rutherford's. They don't start bugging me if there isn't something I need to do. So it was a very fruitful day. I am taking the cards with me to Janna's and going to Rexburg to have the Baptism done. Then I'll work on the Inititories for the females. Thank goodness the Salt Lake Temple will do ten Ordinances a week so I can get all the Inititories and Endowments for the males done there. John made tacos for dinner and I worked on the Rutherford's awhile longer. Now it's time to go to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the wonderful Salt Lake Family History Center. So many names of people are in those books. We just have to find them. I am grateful I was able to find some today. Soon they will be out of Spirit Prison.

Chinese Food Page

Today we started our day by cleaning up the house one more time so an agent can show our house again. Tommy stayed home and John and I took the dog for a ride. We went to the store and just messed around. Then I made two batches of Oatmeal Cookies to freeze so I can pop some in the oven before we show the house. I went down to visit mom this afternoon. She seemed in pain so I had them give her pain meds. We had our scrap night tonight at my house. Lori, Judy, Gerri and Heather came over and we did a recipe. It was fun and the page above is my creation. Now it's really time to get some rest.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for John. He is so helpful to me. He helped me make cookies today and drove me around and went to the store. He helped me set up the table and take down everything after our scrap night was over. He always takes good care of my dog.

Harley's 14th Birthday

I spent the morning doing my genealogy. I kept thinking of these Rutherford's. They just kept coming into my mind so I went looking to see why. Lo and Behold there was a Margaret Rutherford that had gotten missed. No work had been done for her. All the work for her six brothers and sisters but not her. So I reserved her work so I can do it and she will be happy. I always know when something isn't right because my mind just won't stop thinking about that line. Isn't that just the best Testimony that this work is very important. Today I had a realtor call to show the house. So once again it was clean it up, air it out and take the dog for a ride. Tommy stayed at the house to let the people in. One thing about this, my house is clean all the time. John and I went to ShopKo and Crisp's and then we drove around to see if we could figure out where the Temple was going to be built. We also stopped and got an ice cream at the Daley Freeze. I love dipped cones. Then we came home and I finished this page of Harley's birthday and ordered Pizza for dinner. Then the home teachers came to visit. Brother Duncan has a new partner. It's Justin Tucket. He is a senior in high school. We were kidding with him asking him how he got hooked up with the old guys. He is such a cute kid.  Amie called to see if the boys could come up and spend the night and go to school from here tomorrow so she can go with her mom to take Whitney back home to St George. Of course the boys can come to grandma's house. I just love the sound of that. Going to grandma's house. Has a nice ring to it, don't ya think. So that's been my day. We'll see what tomorrow brings my way.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Home Teachers and the time they spend out of there busy lives to come and visit and teach a lesson to Tommy and I. The Lord's plan just includes everything we need to make it in this world.

Vintage Kit Preview

Today was pretty busy. I had my presidency meeting this morning and then Jacque and I went visiting teaching to Liz. She is so fun. We had a good time. Then I went down to visit mom. She was just so alert and happy. We talked about Heaven. I asked her if Aunt Marie came to hold her hand and take her to Heaven would she go. Her face just lit up and she said yes. I love her so much but it's hard to see her so helpless and not able to do anything for herself. I posted this kit to my site and made my Wallpaper Desktop. I may have to redo it if it doesn't work on other peoples computers. I hope not but we'll see. Now it's again time to go watch American Idol and go to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the good times with my mom. When she is so alert and happy. I just want to hug her tight and never let go. But I know that's selfish of me and she deserves better than the life she lives now.

Halloween 2008 Page

Today was a lazy day for me. I just couldn't get any get up and go. I found this unfinished page and decided it was about time to finish it. So here it is from 2008. Can you believe it. I made a Dump Cake with Apple Pie Filling and a pot of Chili for the family so I guess that was something accomplished. Tommy and I went to the cannery and helped people can. The young couple came in and finished all their years supply. Now they are taking their kids to Disneyland over Spring Break to celebrate. It's so good to see people following the Prophets advice. We have been told about food storage for over a hundred years. They are ready for any emergency.  Now it's time to go watch American Idol and go to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for this young couple that set an example for all of us. They were so diligent and came every Tuesday night until they got it done. I know the Lord is very pleased with them.

Friends, 72nd Birthday and Harrison No10 Pages

Kaylyn and I in St George. What fun!!
Tommy's 72nd Birthday celebrated with Dean, Amie and the kids.
Harrison playing a basketball game. He's No. 10.
Today I got tons accomplished. I made the bottom 2 pages. I made Rice Pudding for Yvonne Norton and Tommy. I did my laundry. I made Turkey and White Sauce over toast. I figured out a recipe for my Cole Slaw Dressing and my 1000 Island Dressing. Normally I just put stuff in until it tastes good. But today I figured out how much of each thing. That was hard. But now it's in writing so I guess that's good. I talked with Ruth today and Aunt Marie is still in the hospital. They are sending in Hospice as her kidney's are failing and they can't stablize her heart. I wish I could see her one last time. She was the one that gathered me up when I was 8 and took me and my cousin Ethel to be baptized. I even have the picture of us sitting beside Ethel's Granddad who baptized us. She has always been so special to me. We spent lots of time at her house when I was little. It made me sad today and I had a good cry just missing her already.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful that I know about the Celestial Kingdom so I know that Aunt Marie and my mom will be in a much better place after they leave this earth life. I really hope they can hold hands and go together. They were always so close.

Mokie and the Kids Page

Today was the most wonderful Sabbath I have had in a while. The Stake Relief Society Presidency met with our Presidency before church. The Spirit was so strong you could feel it. Then Bishop Bluth and President Trevort gave the best talks. The ward choir sang a beautiful hymn. Then we learned about Joseph and the Pharoah in Sunday School. Such a good lesson. Then Kiersten knocked our socks off with her lesson. We were divided into 4 groups to discuss the four parts of the lesson about Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. I was amazed that I learned so much from a topic we think we all know so much about. The insight of the sisters in Relief Society was amazing. It was a good meeting. I went by Marcia Wilson's after church to drop off a paper to her for setting the table at our Passover Feast. We ended up talking for about an hour. When I came out I realized I'd left my car running. Oops!! Then I went down to see mom and feed her dinner. She was in good spirits again. I came home from that and finished my layout called Friends that I will post tomorrow. The one above I made yesterday. I had already scrapped most of these pictures but I really didn't like the page so I redid it. Now it's time to say good night and head for bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the talks today in church. About judging others and not taking offense with others. Also about being a rescuer of our fellow men. President Trevort looks a lot like my older brother Johnnie. (Yes, that's the way my mom spelled it when she named him and he's hated it all his life.)

Walking with Molly in Salem

I got up early this morning and started cleaning my house. We had 3 different sets of people coming to look at the house starting at 11:45. I got everything shined up and took my shower and off we went to find something to do for 2 1/2 hours. We went for a ride to Salem and took the dog for a walk on the path by the road that goes to the freeway. What a nice walking path. Tommy and John walked with us. It is 3/4 of a mile. I would have gone around again but Tommy's said his knees hurt. So we went and had lunch at the Diamond Grill. It's the first time I've ever been over there. I had a Chef's Salad. It was pretty good food. Then we drove around some more and ended up at the Ingram Field in Elk Ridge and John and I took Molly for another walk around the path. I think she's tired now. We came home just as the last people were pulling away. Now I have a clean house. Wahoo!! I'm making rice for the dinner tonight at the church. So I've got it all ready to put in the water and cook away. I love to make rice 'cause it's so easy with my rice cooker. Best little appliance I ever purchased. I also finished my Vintage Kit for the colab as we were driving around. I love my laptop. I made my rice and took it to the church. When I went to pick up the rice maker they had food left over so I took plates to the Norton's and Swenson's. I also finished the page I started in St. George and lost. So I'll post it tomorrow.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful that people came to look at the house today. It gives me hope that maybe it will sell and we can move to Idaho to help Janna with the kids. I know what it's like to not have parents home when you are there. I was very lonely and really missed my mom when she was working.

Spring Picnic Preview

I went grocery shopping today. Ugh, Ugh, Ugh. I got some great deals though so that 's good. I just don't like spending all that time going up and down aisles trying to find the best deal. Then ya gotta put it all away. Ugh, Ugh and more Ughs. But it's done and we have salad makings. Then I finished this kit for the Stuff to Scrap blog train. That was a big relief to get it done. Now on to the one for our colab. No wonder I can't get my pictures scrapped. I went down to visit mom. She was doing good. I found her favorite old TV shows to watch and she was just content. Her toe looks better. Not so red. I worked some more on the Vintage kit for our colab. Then made meatloaf for dinner. I used my new pan and it is wonderful. All the grease drains off. It was delish with baked potatoes and cole slaw.
Tonight Harrison and Hayden came up to hang out with Grandma. Amie has gone to Moab to run a marathon and Dean and Hailey had something so I got to watch these two cuties. Hayden didn't last long once they started watching cartoons.  Aren't they just the cutest.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for these two sweet grandsons. They are so sweet to me. I always marvel at how wonderful my grandkids are and how much fun it is to watch them grow.

Genealogy Library with Lynn

Today I went to the genealogy library with Lynn. We had a great time and I was able to print off 6 more cards for Temple Ordinances. I worked on the Kingery family and found spouses. Lynn worked on a line of hers back in the 1600. I also was able to match some more of my ancestors with their duplicates so it now shows that their work has been done. It's so important to match duplicates or it looks like there is tons of work to be done. But as soon as you match the one that has the ordinances attached it comes up with the blue check mark. That's what we love, the blue check mark. I really enjoyed myself today. We left at 9am and go back at 5:15pm. So worth it.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for NewFamilySearch and the genealogy library. It make it so much easier to find your ancestors. And it's a blast to find people that haven't had their work done so I can do it for them.

Visiting Teaching

Today I was very tired. Don't know what that's all about. But I worked on my LDS blog train kit "Called to Serve Him" and uploaded it to 4Shared. Also worked on Spring Picnic kit. Then I went visiting teaching with Jacque to Joan Durrant. Came home from that and thought I'd lay down for a minute. I went fast asleep for about an hour. Then I went to visit mom. She has an infection in her big toe so they are treating it with antibiotics. Came home from that and played a game of Rummy with John. We have a championship going on. I am winning this one. He won the last one. We do have fun playing cards together. I also arbitrated 4 batches. Now I'm going to watch American Idol and go to bed. Tomorrow I'll have energy and get lots done.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for Joan Durrant. I am grateful that I've gotten to know her. She is a funny lady and I really enjoy visiting her. And I love my partner, Jacque Taylor.

Chopping Veggies

Today I worked for hours organizing all the kits I purchased some time ago for $1.00. And a couple of blog trains. That takes so long to do. But I'm almost done. Then I sliced up potatoes and carrots for Kara's cooking class. My Cuisinart is so fast. It takes less than a minute to cut them all up. Then Tommy and I went to the cannery to serve our mission. We had a couple come in that comes every Tuesday night for a date. They are getting their food storage and having a date at the same time. Pretty cool. We helped them can 90 cans of white wheat. It went fast. Then I went to Kara's cooking class. Yummy food. It was so fun tasting everything.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for people like the couple that came to the cannery tonight that are doing their food storage. They will be prepared if they ever need it. It makes our mission so much fun to see people get the vision and go with it.

Balancing the Checkbook

I spent the day today balancing my checkbook. It was off and I had to figure out what had happened. So after a lot of searching I found my mistake. I had to go to the market and the bank. Then I went down and visited with mom. She was in such good spirits. We had a wonderful visit and I was able to feed her her lunch. I came home from that and worked on getting all of Kara's recipes from her cooking class in a word document so we can email them to the sisters. Then I called a bunch of sisters to set the tables up at the Passover Feast. Now I'm blogging and hitting the hay. It's been a long busy day.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for Quicken. I know that doesn't seem like something to be grateful for but I am. It's so nice to be able to balance my financing and just print out a report at tax time. So I am grateful for Quicken and the time it saves me.

Going Home

We got up early this morning and drove back home. The interstate by Cedar City was pretty bad. Cars and moving vans off the road everywhere. But we got past it all. Amie is a great driver. We got home at about 12:15 and we had to be to church at 1:00. We made it at the usual time and were able to save seats for Amie and the kids. It's usually them saving seats for us. Church was good, but I was a little tired and had a hard time concentrating. After church I came home and took a nap. It was so nice to snuggle up and rest. Now I'm blogging and ready for bed.
Grateful Statement: I'm grateful for the Creation. Sister Echols taught it to us in Relief Society. I learned a couple of things I had never thought of before. One was that Christ is the Savior of all the worlds that He and Heavenly Father create. Wow! That's a lot of worlds. Won't it be wonderful when we get to the Celestial Kingdom to have all Knowledge.

Hail Storm

At the Movies to see Alice in Wonderland.
Kathy and Darell came and got me this morning so I could go to their house to see the remodeling they had done. It turned out so nice. Their kitchen is so different. Much bigger and tons more cabinets. After we got done with the remodel tour we went to Subway in the Walmart and had a salad. So far I have been able to stick to salads. Kathy and I dropped Darell off and we went to the ball park where Hailey was playing. We got to watch for a couple of innings and then the big black front started moving in. Kathy and I decided we would head for the car as it was starting to sprinkle. As we were hot footing it to the car it started to hail and the heavens opened up. By the time we reached the car Kathy, Myself and Chloe were drenched. We were a site to behold. The dog was shaking so bad I had to wrap it up in a blanket and hold her until she could warm up. Then we drove back to the house and drove around the subdivision looking at houses and talking. Kathy and I do that so well. We visited all afternoon at the house and then Kathy had to leave for home so she could prepare her lesson for church tomorrow. We went to the movies and saw Alice In Wonderland. I think it was a little scary and violent for little kids but I really enjoyed the graphics. It was in 3D so things just came out of the screen at you. Very fun and I liked the story. Amie's sister Whitney came with us. What a funny girl she is. She has the best giggle ever.  After the movie we came back to the house I started working on a page. But it was dark and I couldn't see my keys very good so I pressed something and it all went away. And it was finished. Ugh!!! So I'll just have to do it again.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the time I was able to spend with Dean and Amie and the kids. I was so much fun. I love them all so much and am so glad they include Tommy and I in the good times of their lives.

First Day of Hailey's Games

We got up this morning and went to the Bear Paw for breakfast. It was delicious. I had scrambled eggs and a  fruit bowl. How good is that.

We watched Hailey play her first game and went to dinner at the Pizza Factory. I had a salad bar. It was so good. Amie and I went to Walmart and I got sunglasses and a sweatshirt. It's very cold here when the sun goes down. Hailey had another game at 8pm tonight. A page will follow of all the pictures I took.  We then went to Hailey's 8:00 game. It was so cold even with a heater that Tommy and I finally left and took the kids and the dog home. They were freezing and so was I. I guess we missed the most exciting game. Hailey scored 3 of their 6 runs and had a triple play. I wish it would have been warmer. Can't wait to watch her when it's warm.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for such a talented Granddaughter. I love to watch her play sports. She is just awesome.

Going to St. George

Today I packed my bags, went to see mom, arbitrated names from the 1910 census and worked on the Beta Testing for newfamilysearch. So I accomplished alot. I have scheduled posts for the next three days just in case I have no internet service. Then I can add when I do get internet. We'll see how that goes. Here I am sitting in the Ball Park and low and behold they have the internet. Amie and I left at 6ish and arrived in St George at 10ish. I was a little tired but I indexed a couple of batches off line and then went to bed. Tomorrow is the day for all the games.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for Amie. She is so sweet to me. We had a good time chatting all the way down here. Dean is so blessed to be married to her.

Beta Testing

Today was a great day. I went to my presidency meeting this morning. Came home and started Beta Testing for New Family Search. I have 17 pages of assignments to do and I'm on page 5. Long way to go but I'm learning tons. Salt Lake had sent me an email asking if I wanted to participate in the Beta testing for the new release this month. I was also asked by email to arbitrate some indexing records as they are really far behind in arbitration with all the new indexing people that have started doing it so I did a couple of batches of that today. I went down to visit mom this afternoon. She still has a cough and sleeps most of the time. But she seems not to be in any pain. I just so love that lady. I did my laundry from my trip. John made Lasagna for him and Tommy and I had a chicken breast with a salad. Now I'm going to finish blogging and go watch American Idol.
Grateful Statement: I just am so grateful for the indexing program and all the records it has made available for us to search our ancestors. It has helped me to understand how to read records through the years as I have indexed so many different kinds. I love this work!

Happy Birthday Page

I was up early today for some strange reason. You'd think I would have slept in as tired as I was from driving yesterday. I went over to Judy's and she cut my bangs and blow dried my hair. It was wonderful cause I didn't have to do it myself. I love my hair dresser. And besides she's my good friend. We played around with actions for awhile. I came home and rested for a little while and Tommy and I went to the cannery to serve our mission. We were busy again. I love that people are finally coming in to can their food storage. Tommy and I stopped at the market on the way home and now I think I will lay down in my bed and relax.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful this day for being retired and able to travel and make pages and just have fun.

Birthday Bliss Colab Kit

We got up this morning and ate at the motel breakfast room and headed down the road. We were on the road by 8am. It was a very pleasant drive. I drove to Salt Lake where we had to pick up some parts for Darrell's new car from Larry Miller Honda. Then Kathy drove the rest of the way to my house. We stopped at Subway in Lehi to have lunch. They had very good salads. Then Kathy brought me to my house and we unloaded all my stuff. She has to work tomorrow so she headed to St. George. We just had so much fun Temple Hopping. I went down and visited mom this afternoon. She still has her cough but I guess she is doing better. She was in good spirits and wanted chocolate so she must be on the mend. I came home and made my dinner and finished this kit and made the preview. I had to download all the files to 4shared so I could post in on the Learn With Me site. Now I do believe I'm going to hug my pillow.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for this wonderful vacation I was able to go on. Kathy and I had so much fun laughing, talking and just plain having fun. She is one funny lady. Thanks, my friend for the good time. Can't wait until the next one.

Friends Forever

Today was another fabulous day. What other kind can you have on vacation having so much fun? We got up and went to church that's right beside the Temple. It was very nice. I heard some good testimonies. Then we came home and rested and ate our salad we had bought yesterday at Walmart. We took a long walk beside the river. A wonderful little family volunteered to take our picture so here we are. It was so beautiful walking along the river. Kathy fell on some ice in a tunnel we had to go through. Thank goodness she was alright. She is a trooper. Just kept on going. After we came back we went to Rigby to visit Janna and say goodbye. The kids were so cute. Kathy played a game of Uno with them. She is so good with kids. No wonder she was such a great pre-school teacher when Heather was 5. We came home from Janna's and watched TV. We made steaks and steamed green beans in the microwave and I grilled the steaks on my grill I brought from home. I am so glad this motel room had a microwave and a refrigerator. It made Sunday a no shopping day. We felt good that we had prepared so we wouldn't have to eat out or go to the store. Tonight we are relaxing blogging and watching TV. We have a long drive tomorrow so we are snuggling in.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful that you can go to any ward anywhere and feel right at home. It's wonderful to rub elbows with Saints everywhere.

Idaho Falls Temple

Some nice man on a bicycle came by and took our picture. He told us he was a non-Mormon. I told him I loved non-Mormons. He was very nice and funny. The Snake River is behind us and we are standing on the sidewalk in front of the Temple.
Today was a wonderful day again. Kathy and I got up and went to breakfast at the motel. We had scrambled eggs again. We found a kitchen store just down the road from our motel and had to stop in to see what they had. I found a Meat Loaf pan that is two pieces and drains the fat into the bottom as it cooks. Such a fun store. Then we hung out in our room until lunch time. We went to Denny's again and then to the Temple. We did sealings for my family file cards. It was just wonderful to see another Temple. The Idaho Temple is pretty small and the Celestial Room is really small also. The workers were so wonderful. They put stickers on us so everyone would know we were new and they just guided us everywhere. So spiritual to listen to the sealing ceremony. After that we came back to the motel and changed clothes. Off to JC Penney's and I bought a size smaller jeans as mine are getting looser so I just had to see if I could wear a smaller size. Walla!! I can. We went to dinner at Denny's again. The have the most delicious grilled chicken breast with green beans and a salad. Yummy good! We came back to our motel room and Kathy did her blogging and now I have done mine. Good night world. We are going to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful the Sealing Ordinance in the Temple that seal family together forever. I am so grateful that I am sealed to Tommy.

Rexburg Temple

Kathy and I went to the Rexburg Temple after lunch today and had the best time. We did a session for two of Tommy's relatives and then we went to the Baptistry and watch them Baptize 18 women and 15 men from my cards. It was such a beautiful Temple. In the Celestial Room I prayed that as I recognized the things that I was doing wrong I would have the strength to overcome and do better. It felt like the Savior's arms were around me and said, "You are doing good, just keep climbing the ladder." I needed that because sometimes I just feel like I am eon's away from the daughter my Heavenly Father wants me to be. So it was a very spiritual time. As we were leaving the Celestial room one of the workers volunteered to take us on a tour of the Sealing Rooms upstairs. They are huge and beautiful. What a glorious day!!!
Then we came back to the motel and changed into our jeans and went picture taking and duck feeding. Here is Kathy with the ducks and geese wanting some food. She had the best time feeding these critters. After we took pictures of the falls and ducks we went to the Outback restaurant for dinner. We shared a steak and veggies and I had a salad. The steak was too salty for me so I couldn't eat it all. But the veggies were really good. Then we came back to our room and Kathy blogged and loaded pictures. She is a fast learner. Now I am blogging and getting ready for bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful again tonight for Temples. Such peace and comfort comes when you are in the Temple. I love the time you get to spend in the Celestial Room. It feels like Heavenly Father and The Savior are right in there with you!

Here we are in Idaho

Today has been a wonderful day. Kathy, Harley and I left at 9:00 and stopped by to visit my mom. She had an xray done and has no signs of fluid in her lungs. Just the good old common cold. I am so relieved that I don't have to worry about her. After we visited with mom we headed up to Salt Lake and went to the Draper Temple where Kathy and I did initiatories. What a beautiful Temple. Harley waited in the car reading a book. We took these pictures before we left. Then we decided we needed to get on the road becaue it looked like a storm was coming in. We got to Rigby at 5pm after many potty breaks. We visited with Scott, Janna and the kids for a little while and then headed to Idaho Falls. We went to Denny's for dinner, then Walmart for apples and 4 kinds of Melba Toast. Then we found the most fabulous room at the Best Western. We have a view from our front window of the Idaho Falls Temple across the Snake River. I'm taking pictures tomorrow. We are all snuggled in our room for the night.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for the beauty of the Temples this day. I am also grateful to be able to attend them and feel of Heavenly Father's love.

What a Day!!

I have been running my fool head off today. I started out going to our Presidency Meeting this morning. It lasted until 12pm. But we got tons of things figured out. Then I came home from that and made my lunch and tried to figure out how to bring cutting files into Photoshop Elements. After calling Lori in the afternoon I finally figured it out. John and I went to Salt Lake to pick up Harley. Janna put her on a shuttle this morning in Rigby and they brought to the west side of the Conference Center. I grabbed her there and we came back home and then I took her to her Orthodontist appointment. We then went to visit mom and check on her. Still has a cough but Wendy the nurse thinks it's bronchitis. After that we went to the market and KFC and brought dinner home to Tommy and John. I was so good. I didn't have any of it and that is my all time favorite chicken in the whole world. One more temptation overcome. I'm doing them one at a time. I came home from that and made my grilled chicken and cole slaw for my dinner. Then I took Harley to Cassidy's house by Woodland Hills and dropped her off to go to Young Women's with her. Kathy Porterfield finally got here around 8:30. We talked awhile and now I'm yawning so bad I must go to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for a dear friend like Kathy. When we get together we have so much fun. We have the best shared memories. Going to Virginia LaVorgna's doll making classes in her motor home. Opening up a doll shop together. Long walks and good conversation. So much more...

Serving our Mission

Today was a busy day. I worked on downloading the rest of the parts of the blog trains. Then I went and got my hair cut at Judy's. I then took her my part of the download to put on her computer. Then I came home and started on the Birthday Bliss kit for our colab that is due March 11. Then Tommy and I went to the cannery to serve our Mission. We left there at 6:30 so I could get to Kara's cooking class on time. It was very good. Kara made Pizza, Pecan Crusted Chicken and Chicken with noodles and a ranch dressing sauce. It was wonderful and lots of the sisters came. So much fun and laughter. Now I am home and ready to go to bed and watch American Idol.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful that I am serving a mission with Tommy. I know Heavenly Father heard my prayers and answered them.

Monday, Monday Isn't that a song?

I worked on genealogy today. I spent probably an hour on the phone with Salt Lake trying to figure out my file. I guess there was a glitch and it put some of my Temple File names in progress to an Unknown person. So we finally figured out what I had to do to be able to do their work for them. I really have been at it off and on all day. I attempted to download the blog trains but kept getting side tracked with this genealogy. Tomorrow is the day! I went to visit mom this afternoon and she has a horrible cough. The problem is she doesn't have enough air to be able to cough anything up. I am really worried about her. Pneumonia always worries me. I hope she is better tomorrow. I came home from mom's and made Chili and Corn Bread for dinner. It was delicious. I love tried and true recipes that always come out good.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today for my mom. As I was holding her hand I just felt so much love for her. We talked about our trips to Hawaii and Mexico and all the trips to Utah and Arizona. We came to Utah for Education week and stayed in a dorm. We went to the Olympics in Los Angeles. I have had the best time with my sweet mom. What wonderful memories to share.

Lazy Day
