Rexburg Temple

Ready for the oven!

Sue, Karen and I went to Rexburg Temple today. It was snowing when we came out and very cold. Winter is here I think. It was a good experience, I felt inspired to make changes in Relief Society. I love the peaceful feeling I get when I am in the Temple.
I made pizza for dinner and then we got ready for Trick or Treaters. Cute little kids. I just love to see them. Not very many find my house so I know it's kids that know me.
Grateful Statement: As I study the Old Testament I am learning so much. I am so grateful for the prophets insight into such a wonderful event. It just come home full force in the Temple where the beginning of Genesis comes to life. My favorite quote:
“Our first parents were pure and noble, and when we pass behind the veil we shall perhaps learn something of their high estate.” (Jesus the Christ,p. 30.)
I am blessed to know how special they really were.

Book of Mormon Class

What did I do today. Can't remember much. I made Tommy a Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Mac 'n Cheese for the kids. Did some laundry and that's about all I did today.
Tonight I went to my class. What a wonderful teacher Brother Black is. He has such a good way of liking all the scriptures to us. Sue met me there.
Now it's time for bed because I'm tired and I wanna go to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for all I have. I am so blessed beyond measure. The End!

Winco

Went to Winco this morning to get groceries. It wasn't too bad because I didn't need a ton of stuff. Came home and dated all and put on my pantry shelves. I also found my 1/2 gallon jars so I can put my dry pack in. I don't want to buy cans, and I can reuse these jars. Now I just have to figure out how much dry ice I put in without it cracking the jar. But I will figure it out and then I can can whatever I want and reuse my jars.
I took a birthday gift to a sister in the ward and drove the kids to YM/YW. Janna slipped in the barn and hurt her arm so she wasn't going anywhere. I just hate to see her in pain.
Now it's time to go to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the scriptures. I am studying Genesis. Some very interesting stuff in there. I especially love reading Genesis 3. Just takes me to the Temple all over again.

Busy Day

Snowing already?

Called a sister that had been on my mind and asked if we could do something for her. She said they were fine, we chatted for a little while and she called me a little later and said she did need something. So I was able to fulfill her need. She thanked me for listening to the Spirit and calling her. I didn't even know what it was all about when I called her. Now I do!
Then I made calls to two other sisters that are having surgery in the next couple of days so I could figure out what their needs will be.
Then it was off to the Bishop's house. Of course, it had started to rain and I was soaked by the time I got home. Then it turned to snow. Burr, winter is on it's way.
I went with Janna to the ortho guy today. He wants her to use her arm and see if it's gets better within the next couple of weeks. If it doesn't then he will order an MRI to see if she needs surgery. Blessing abound in this household. She now has 5 horses she is boarding so that is making her money. And she now has her LLC so she can start her Bail Bonds business.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for all that Heavenly Father does for me. I am so grateful for the inspiration I feel with my calling. He is always there to show me what to do, and who to call, and who to visit and, who to pray for. I am truly blessed.

Stake Conference

Friday Crystal and I went over the visiting teaching and made changes. Now it feels right and done until someone moves in or out.
Saturday I visited with Ila for awhile. She is having a hard time so I gave her a loaf of bread and a hug.
Today I went to Stake Conference. It was outstanding. President Posten talked about how much Heavenly Father loves us and we are not to think we are not enough, or bad mom's, etc. We are to know we are Heavenly Father's children. I watched one of our sister's be touched to her heart. She thinks she is not a good mom. I saw her cry and cry. I hope the message was seared in her heart and she knows how wonderful she really is.
I took a nap today after church and made another batch of bread. It is so good and fast.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for the scriptures. I am studying and pondering them. I am starting on the Old Testament. I loved reading about Adam and Eve and how very special they were to be chosen to be the first to come to earth. And we really don't know how long each day was in the creation. So we don't know how old the earth really is. Very interesting.

Rexburg Temple and Janna to Aftercare

I went to the Rexburg Temple with Sue and Karen Jenkins. We had a great time. As I was thinking about the changes we are thinking about making I knew that one of them was wrong. I always feel okay about things if they are okay. But I knew that this one wasn't right. So it's back to the drawing board to find a better solution.
Made Potato Soup for dinner and finished off the homemade bread with the kids. I will be making more loaves tomorrow.
Janna was throwing hay and tore something in her arm. I took her up to aftercare at Upper Valley and they took an xray. Nothing is broken so they think it's a torn rotary cusp again. She has to go for an MRI and see what that uncovers. She was in a lot of pain but after the morphine shot they gave her she was feeling much better.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my sweet wonderful daughter. Her life is hard right now but she just keeps hanging in there. I am so blessed to have her for my daughter.

Saying Goodbye to my Best Friend Kathy

Hot out of the oven.

Kathy got up this morning and packed her car and left for home. I missed her the minute she pulled out of the driveway. We always have so much fun together.
I made this yummy white bread using the recipe I got from Lori. How easy and fast it was. Raises for 30 minutes, bakes for 30 minutes and takes about 15 minutes to get it in the pans. This is defiantly my newest bread that I will be making. Tommy ate it. He doesn't like my wheat bread so I'll be making both.
I visited with Margaret and showed her how to call the visiting teachers on her district about the sister they visit and who to report it to. She has a hard life and many health issues. She is very sweet.
Made Lasagna for dinner and worked on a little scrapbooking.
I went to my Book of Mormon class tonight. We were taught all about the Sealing Power and that it is not only sealing us to our spouses and families but it is given to prophets so they can seal thing on earth. If a prophet says it will be done it will be done because he has the sealing power given to him. I learned a ton.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for Brother Black and his knowledge of the scriptures. He brings them to life for me and enlarges my understanding every week. I am blessed to be able to attend them.

Presidency Meeting

Kathy and I made Crock Pot Garlic Chicken and sour dough bread for dinner. She worked on her blog while I had my meeting. We got lots of stuff worked out. I am waiting to see if the new bishopric releases us and puts in a new presidency. It certainly wouldn't hurt my feelings if he did.
We were going to Winco but we were both too tired so we sat up and talked until we were so tired we had to hit the hay.
I don't remember much else we did. I think we just spent the day enjoying each other's company.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for all I have. I am so blessed with so many wonderful people in my life, especially my family and my BFF Kathy.

Winco Here We Come

Going to Winco

Making Brownie Mix

Kathy and I went to Winco this morning so we could get Chocolate Chips and Cocoa. I decided that it would be lots cheaper to make Brownie Mix with bulk cocoa than Hershey's in a can. It was fun to shop in the bulk section. The cocoa was over 50% cheaper. So I got some and put it in pint jars and onto my shelf in my pantry.
After we were done with Winco we went to The Gangplank for lunch. They have delicious Fish and Chips. And of course, we talked and talked.
Came home and made some Brownie mix in pint jars, seasoned salt and I started a Sour Dough starter for Kathy. We always have so much fun creating things with each other.
We went to the Los Albertos for Family Home Evening and had Mexican food. I was still full from lunch so I order a taco. It was very good and the family enjoyed it. Then Janna and Tommy went home and Kathy, me and the kids went to Reed's Dairy for Ice Cream.
That's been our day. We are tired. But it's a good tired. Off to bed!
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my sweet friend. She is just the best. I am blessed to have had her in my life all these years.

New Bishopric

I went to Ward Council today. We always have a fun time. Too much laughter sometimes but so much fun.
Kathy brought the kids to church for me. They put our new Bishopric in. Bishop Webster, Brother Steigher and Brother Neville and Ben Jenkins as the Executive Secretary. I will love working with these men. They are the cream of the crop.
Came home after a long day and Kathy and I made Black Bean Burritos. It's our favorite.
Now it's time for bed.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for the new Bishopric. I know they will be wonderful.

Bountiful Temple and Going Home

Bountiful Temple

Kathy and I got up and went to breakfast at McDonald's (Egg McMuffin yummy) and then found our way to the Bountiful Temple. It is quite the route to get to it. Windy road through beautiful neighborhoods and finally we arrive. What a beautiful view. I had seen this Temple hundreds of time and I finally got to go through it. It is enormous. We went through a session and half way through Kathy started not feeling very well. She has a bladder infection so we went to a drug store to get her some medicine and then decided we would just go home instead of trying to see the Brigham City Temple. We needed reservations anyway so that's on our next Temple Hopping trip.
The ride home was uneventful. We stopped in Idaho Falls at Famous Dave's for dinner. We tried the Olive Garden but the wait was an hour long. I don't think so. After we ate dinner we went to Walmart and got a few things.
It is good to be home and Kathy is feeling good but we are tired so it's bed time for us.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for my life and that I am able to do these little trips. I am especially grateful for the Temples that dot the earth. I wish I could go to every single one.

Jordan River and Oquirrh Temple

Getting Gas to get to Salt Lake

My GPS on my phone took us to this lovely dirt road when we were looking for the Jordan River Temple.

 Jordan River Temple

Kathy and I having fun.

Oquirrh Temple

Kathy and I drove to Salt Lake and then tried to GPS the Jordan River Temple. It took us to a dirt road by the prison. But we finally called and got directions. We did 5 initiatories each and enjoyed the beautiful wood work in the Temple. It was beautiful.
Then it was on to the Oquirrh Temple where we did a session. What a spirtitual high to go to two Temples in one day.
We checked into a Hampton Inn and went to McGraff's Fish House for dinner. Yummy.
Now we are snuggled up in our room and just vegetating.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for Temples. I love the peace I feel when I go. What a blessing to have so many to visit.

Flying to Las Vegas

 Traders Joe's

I flew to Las Vegas and Kathy picked me up. It was a uneventful flight and went pretty fast.
We found Trader Joe's and they had my Baking Chocolate Bars. I got 4 and will be getting more the next time I come down. Every time I used my chocolate bars I thought of Kaylyn. She got a stack of them for me a few years back. What a dear friend she was to me.

 Olive Garden

My Best Friend

Kathy and I went to lunch at Olive Garden before we headed back to St. George. It was quite the drive but we arrived safe and sound. We hung out with Kristen, Josh and kids and Darrel. Then it was off to Walmart to get stuff for Darrel.
Now is's time for bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful the this dear friend of mine. We have had some good times in the 30 years I've known her. I am blessed.

Jump

Cleaned house, did laundry, packed my bags, visited a sister, made this page and made Tommy roasted vegetables and chicken nuggets. Now my dishes are done and I am ready for bed.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for the opportunity I have to go Temple Hopping with my best friend. I am blessed beyond measure.

Farm Work Page

Farm Work

Cleaned house today and got my hair cut. Made Taco Casserole for dinner. Bailee drove me around for 30 minutes. Visited with Mary to see how she is doing. Made this page twice. I didn't save it the first time but I like the second version better.
That's it. Good Day!!!
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my sweet friend Mary. She has a tough life but always is so sweet to everyone. I am blessed to have her in my life.

Working on Scrapping

Coming and Going

I made this page of Kathy and Kids when we picked them up and when we took them to the Airport. I got more pages ready. I have to go through my pictures and get them down to a reasonable amount and then I choose the template and kit. Then it's ready to scrap.
I made cinnamon rolls today and scrambled eggs and fried potaotes for dinner. More eggs used up. I need about 6 less chickens and I think I might keep up. But I do love my farm fresh eggs.
I managed to do laundry. Now I'm going to clean a bathroom for Kathy and veg in my chair.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the ability I have to stay home and cook do what I want, kind of. I am blessed.

Beautiful Sabbath

Girls Camp

I went to Ward Council and reported on all the sisters we had visited. The Bishop also announced in Ward Council that he is being released next Sunday so we will still have Ward Council again next week. I am sad to see this Bishopric go. They were a lot of fun to work with.
The Bishop asked us to bear our testimony today so I did it. I just wanted the sisters to know how much I love them. So that's what my testimony was about today.
Visited another sister after church that is new to our ward. Tiffany went with me. It was fun to visit Christa.
Now I'm tired and going to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my testimony. I am grateful that each day it grows stronger.

Lazy Saturday

Golf Page

I worked on pages today and helped Janna work on her pillow shams. I didn't do much but I helped her sew when she got tired.
I went to Broulims and got Janna's meds and parchment paper so I can try the carmel again.
Cooking consisted of meatballs, rice and barbecue sauce. It is so good.
That's been my Saturday.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my Savior. I am grateful that Heavenly Father made it possible for me to repent and try to get to the Celestial Kingdom. I only hope I make it.

Temple and Pages - Check

Swan Valley

Yesterday I went to the Temple with Sue. It was so peaceful and wonderful. I learn something new each time I go. Crystal and I visited with Margaret in the afternoon. That was my Thursday.
Today I worked on this page and not much else. I was a lazy butt. I did go over to Ila's and get some house plants she was getting rid of. Now to figure out where to put them.
I made Carmel so I can get it perfect for Christmas. I didn't cook these quite enough, but they are delicious. I sprayed Parchment Paper so I could just lift them out of the pan and cut them. That worked perfect so I'll be doing that again and cooking them a tad bit longer.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for all my blessings. When I get down I just have to remember all the blessing I enjoy each day.

Another Fireworks Page and Going to Winco

Fireworks in Idaho

Janna and I went to Winco this morning grocery shopping. What a job. Thank goodness I have help. Then Harley helped us put it all away before she had to go to school and work. Done for another month.
Spent the day making this page and getting more pages ready to scrap.
Went to the church to do the Visiting Teaching Report with Ashley. I still have to make some changes but I'm waiting until I can go to the Temple tomorrow and make sure I do them right.
Sue and I went to the Book of Mormon class. I learn so much from Brother Black each week. He has the best insight into the scriptures and how they relate to us.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the wonderful Visiting Teachers that faithfully visit their sisters. If only every sister could catch the vision of how important it is.

Fireworks Page and Presidency Meeting

Fire Works
I find if I put a title under my photo they will stay on one page when I have it printed.

Today Tommy and I scrubbed my floors and I vacuumed and got ready for my meeting. I made this page this morning as I rested in between doing stuff. The pictures were really bad so I'm glad it looks half way okay.
Our presidency meeting went well. I love the ladies I work with. We got lots of things figured out and had a fun time doing it. Now to email the Bishop with a few questions and I am done for the night.
I took the kids to YM/YW and now it's time to kick back and watch a little TV.
Grateful Statement: I can't quit thinking about Conference and all the talks. I am so grateful we can listen and then download them on a phone and listen again. What a world we live in. I am blessed!

Hayden's Baptism Page

 Sweet boy Hayden's Baptism

Stadium of Fire at BYU

I finally got Hayden's Baptism page done. It took me three tries to finally get it together. My computer kept freezing up and would lose what I had done. And I made the Stadium of Fire page. It was fun to relive these experiences as I scrapped these pages.
I got my spare room all ready for Kathy. I put my quilt I finished on it so it will be cozy and warm.
For dinner I made fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and rolls.
Now it's my bed time.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my kids and grandkids. I just love each one so much. I am blessed to have such a wonderful loving family.

Sunday Conference Day

I always made these slippers for my dear mom. She loved them!

I watched conference today. The talk by President Eyring spoke to my soul. And when he told of the grandmother who was visiting her grandson in prison and ask the Lord why, she was told, "I gave him to you because I knew you would love him no mater what." I was filled with hope and peace in my heart.
I also worked on a baptism page for Hayden. But my computer froze up and then Elements did some thing weird with an action so I am back to square one. But I know exactly where the pictures go and what paper to put on so it won't be so hard this time.
And I started another pair of slippers that I crocheted for ME!! It's winter and my feet get cold so now I'm all set.
It has been an uplifting and wonderful day. The Spirit has filled my house and my heart.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the Prophet and Apostles who spoke to my heart today. I am so blessed to be able to watch it in my home.

Saturday Conference

Another Page Done

Janna and Harley with Precious, Jewel, Toby, Molly and Maggie.

I watched conference today. I love all the talks. So many about being a missionary. Yikes. I'm not good at that. But I will now go out and meet all the sisters that are less active. That will be my missionary work.
My favorite, as ususal, was Elder Holland. His talk on depression and mental illness was so close to my heart it just made me so happy I had to cry. I love the hope it gives me.
After the afternoon conference I made Chicken Alfredo with bowtie noodles. Bailee's request. I also worked on pages today and finished my slippers I was working on. Now my feet can be warm.
Janna and Harley took the dogs for a walk. We are dog sitting two of the neighbors dogs. They were quite the site going down the road. I told them it looked like the "Dog Whisperer" leading his pack.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the talks delivered in conference. I just brings the Spirit right to me. There is always the talk that was given just for me. I am blessed to be able to sit and watch each speaker.

Making Soap

Bailee making soap with me

Road Trip

I ran out of laundry soap this morning so Bailee helped me make some. Grating the soap is the hardest part. But she did it in nothing flat and now I'm back in business with soap.
I also made bread again in the middle of all this, and finished this page.
Mary has a son getting married so she couldn't go to get her toes done so Janna, Bailee and I went. It was fun to go with Janna. My toes nail is almost all grown out. Probably a couple more months and it will be done. The doctor was right. It will be a year before it's all grown out.
Janna took me to a preparedness place in Idaho Falls to get the Lecithin for Lori's bread recipe. They didn't have liquid so I got the powder and I'm trying it to see how it works. They have all the Bosch stuff in this little room behind a Pharmacy. It was fun. I'm going back when I have time to look. Maybe Kathy and I will have to go there when she comes to visit.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for wonderful, helpful grandkids. They are such a blessing.

Catching up again!

Training the puppy to sit with cheerios.

My quilt finally finished!!!

Seems like I am always behind. But at least it's better than my journal I wrote in. It took 10 years to fill up 1/4 of it.
Yesterday Sue and I went to the Temple in the morning. Her daughter in law is going to be induced on Thursday so we decided to go on Wednesday. It was a wonderful session as always.
Then we went to the Book of Mormon class Wednesday night. It was so good. Brother Black always bring it back to us and what it means for our generation. We talked about secret combinations and he told us that if someone tells us not to tell what they have done we are part of a secret combination. So if someone says don't tell anyone we are to say, "I will tell so don't tell me." He says it works and that's what he tells his BYU students.
Today I made bread and took loaves to three sisters Crystal and I visited. We made contact with a sister that was supposedly a no contact. Found out that's not true and she even will let visiting teachers visit with her. Another sister's visiting teachers missed coming for one month and she called her to say she was ready to call the Bishop and find out what happened to her visiting teachers. So much for no contact! Visiting teaching does work. It is Heavenly Father's tool to watch over his daughters. So we are going to everyone on our list and checking to see if they truly are no contact.
And (drum roll, please) I finished the binding on my quilt that I made when Janna and I took a class together in Springville. So it's now done and ready for my spare room.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the Relief Society sisters. I am grateful for the great ladies I serve with. Crystal and I felt inspired as we stopped and visited sisters that we had not been able to make contact with. We were definitely led by the Spirit today.

Lazy Day

Lunch Yesterday I made a Keto Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole for dinner. AJ liked it but not Janna. Oh well. So today I had it for lunc...
