Lazy Day

Lunch

Yesterday I made a Keto Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole for dinner. AJ liked it but not Janna. Oh well. So today I had it for lunch with Avacado, Lettuce and Tomatoes topped with Ranch Dressing. It was better today than yesterday. 

I picked up Gracie from school at noon and we went to Broulim's to get stuff to make a freezer meal for Connie. She wants to stock up for the sisters in the ward. I told her I didn't know what it tasted like so she had to make it for her family tomorrow and let me know if it was any good.

When I made meals for the Grace House I bought a freezer meal cook book on line and Janna printed it all out for me. It has some really good stuff in it. So I am going to always have a couple of freezer meals in my freezer so I can take to the sisters who need it.

I have scrapped all of Costa Rica and then I went on my icloud and realized that I didn't have all the pictures in the folders on my desktop. So I may have to redo some of them.

I was very tired today and just couldn't make myself do much. But tomorrow will be better.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the Gospel. I realize how very blessed I am to know where we are going, why we are here and where we came from.

Sick Little Gracie

Janna left this morning to take Gracie to school but a little later she returned with Gracie in tow. She had thrown up in AJ new car. Thank goodness she is a good thrower upper and Janna caught it all in a hat. So she spent the day laying on my couch watching TV. She finally started feeling good around noon. And then she was on the mend.
I spent the day making a Keto Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole and Amish Country Bread for the family. I ate the casserole and liked it. It's not one of my very favorites. I think I would prefer a patty with cheese on it between two leaves of lettuce. But Ruth and I decided we would try new recipes.
I scrap booked some more Costa Rica pictures. Now it's late and I am tired so I'm going to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for my sweet little Gracie. She is so sweet and she just makes me know how blessed I am to have her in my life.

I went to church today. The speakers were good. One of them talked about what we should be doing during the Sacrament. We need to give our full attention to the bread and water and really think about what they represent. I am going to work on that.

Then it was off to Primary. We only had 5 little Sunbeams today. Sue taught the lesson and it was really good. I know she would like to be in Relief Society and I am glad she is willing to be my team teacher.

I came home and read the lesson for this week in the Come Follow Me manual. I love that we are doing this as a church. We all  know what we should be learning.

Then I watched "The Great Baking Show". I love this show but it makes me want to bake.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the Sabbath day each week. I am blessed to feel so refreshed after church.

Tommy's 81 Birthday

I had tons of things to get done today. I went a baby shower for Cynthia Ralphs in our ward. Connie and I stayed for an hour and then spent an hour in her driveway talking about her trip to Hawaii. It was fun to have her back.

Today is Tommy's 81 birthday so I made him Biscuits, Eggs and Sausage Gravy. He is sick with a cold so he didn't want to go out to dinner. Janna and Gracie made him a Cheese Cake for his birthday cake. 

I made Cinnamon Rolls this afternoon. They were fun to make. I took them to Janna's for her family. I was not about to eat any of them. It's fun to bake stuff and I am not tempted at all. I think 5 months on Adkins has worked.

I looked out the back door today and there was Janna and Gracie in the hot tub. They didn't last very long. I think it was pretty cold.

That's been my day. I have scrapped a little tonight and watch TV. Now it's time to go to bed and read my scriptures.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my dear Hubby. He has always taken such good care of me. Blessed to be sealed to him in the Temple.

I went to work this morning and took a few pictures on the way. It is just foggy and white everywhere. I guess it's winter after all. I was the first one here so I had to get the code for the front door from Brenda to get in. I finished entering the Credit Card charges so I could go home early. The accountant is coming to do the year end stuff. So I worked until 1:45 and then I packed up my stuff and went home. 

I went into Idaho Falls to Staples to get my new office chair that AJ put together for me, and a rolling computer for traveling. It was such a relief to get this done. Then I went to Walmart and got a baby gift for a baby shower I am going to tomorrow. 

Came home and did a little scrapping and now it's time for bed.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the snow. I love living where there is snow in the winter. What a blessing the season's are.

I got up and got my shower today and picked up Karen and it was off to work I went. We went by the bank and post office to make deposits and mail statements. I spent the day sending out more statement and calling people to get payments. 

I started at 9am and left at 7pm. Long day and my body feels it. 

It was so foggy on the way home I could hardly see the road. I stopped at the Osgood Store and got milk for Tommy. Thank goodness for convenience stores.

I came home and sauted some chicken and had a bowl of Cauliflower and Cheese Soup. Delicious.

I scrapped a little more and watched some TV. Now it's time to go to bed so I can get up and go to work tomorrow for half a day.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my job and the ladies I work with. I am blessed with this opportunity to earn extra income.

New Temple Bag

I went to Ashlyn today's to get my hair cut. She is so sweet. I just love how she cuts my hair.

After I got done with my hair I went to Deseret Book Store and bought a new Temple Bag with the gift certificate that Dean and Amie gave me for my birthday. 

I went to work after I got my Temple Bag and worked until 6:30. I organized and filed truck files. I finally remembered to get pictures. It really is fun to work with these ladies. And I make good money. So it's a win, win.

I took Karen home after work so her hubby wouldn't have to  come and get her. When I got home I made some Wisconsin Cheese and Cauliflower Soup. I needed something for my lunch tomorrow. So now I think it's time to go to bed and get some sleep after I read another chapter of the Book of Mormon.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful that I am able to still work at 73 years old. I am blessed to still be able to do what I want.

More Scrapping Costa Rica

Today I took my shower and went to pick up Gracie and finally, let me stress finally I went to renew my drivers license. It was so fast I don't know why I didn't do it before. It expired on my birthday and I am just getting it done. But now I am legal to drive, Yeah!

I made Chicken Noodle Soup for dinner and County Bread. The soup was delicious but the bread was a mess. I put in too much flour so it was so dense it didn't even cook through. 

I scrapped some more pictures from Costa Rica. It's so fun to see these pictures and relive being there.

Gracie and I hung out all afternoon and watch Netflix and I scrapped. She is just so dang cute and so fun. I really am amazed at how fast she is growing up.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my ability to cook. It is a blessing to know how to. Knowledge is good.

I have had a wonderful day. I made meat loaf, baked potatoes, jello salad and ranch dressing. I made everything early so it would be easy to make it. Sometimes I want to make dinner but by evening I am too tired. 

I picked up Gracie at 12 pm and brought her home. She played over at her house most of the day. I decided that I wanted to scrap our Costa Rica Vacation while I still remembered what happened. Here is the first page of  our vacation.

I also Indexed an Arkansas Pension Record. The veterens served in the Civil War. Very interesting work.

Now it's time to get to bed and read my scriptures.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful that I can index records on the internet. I have indexed thousands of records and am blessed to be able to do more.

I went to church today and taught my little Sunbeams. I love these little ones. They are so cute. It was a very good Sacrament Meeting. The speakers were wonderful. I feel that I have been spiritually fed today.

I came home and studied John 1. I learned a lot and will continue to learn all week. I did not know that John was acquainted with John The Baptist. So much to learn. I loved the part where some of the apostles came to follow Jesus.

Janna has been decorating her house and she took some of the FamilyPictures from Costa Rica pictures she had made into a canvas picture. I really love the way they look.

I made Tacos for dinner and now I am doing my journal and watching a baking show. I sometimes wish I could just bake and eat it but I know that is the wrong road to go down if I want to be healthy.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the study of the New Testament. I can't wait to learn all about my Savior. Blessed to be able to read and understand the scriptures.

Austie Boy

I love this cute grandkid. He went to Winco with me this morning to do the BIG shopping. He is so good. He takes a cart and I take a cart and off we go. His cart is as neat as a pin. Everything in rows and perfect stacks. Mine is a big mess. He always goes first and puts all the canned good through first so we can put them on the bottom. Then he finishes emptying the cart as I pack the bags. Then he pays with my credit card and helps me finish. Puts everything in the back of my car all neat and tidy. Then he carries it all in for me.

We went to Walmart on our way home to get some Pink Drink for Janna. It was a good morning spent with this kid. He always calls me Granny Smith and told me to call him Austie Boy. It is what I have always called him since he was just a little boy.

I made 6 pages of the family pictures we had taken in Costa Rica so I can put them in my bathroom.

And I worked on my Primary lesson for tomorrow. Now I am set.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for this grandson. He takes pretty good care of me. I am blessed.

Love of My Life

This man of mine either drives me crazy, makes  me laugh or saves my bacon each and every day. We have been married 53 yrs. That's a lifetime!

I love how he takes care of my Molly, except now Molly loves him more than me.

I love how he does my dishes. I don't love how he can't figure out where the cookie scoop goes. But I so love that I can cook up a storm and he will clean my kitchen for me.

I love how he does everything I ask of him.

I love how he is such a good Papa to all the Grandkids.

That's my tribute to this Mr Tommy that swept me off my feet so many years ago.

Gracie didn't go to school today because the roads were so icy that Janna didn't want me to have to go get her at noon. She couldn't even get her big ole truck down the road until she put it in 4WD. 

I also had a hair appointment which I had to cancel. So I spent the day making chicken enchiladas and breaking down kits I had bought. It was a good peaceful day. And I finished watching The Closer series. I love this series.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for a caring daughter that protects me. I am so blessed  to have her.

How I Got My Job

I don't think I have ever blogged about how I got my job. Karen called me to see if I knew anyone who would want to work part time at Rhodehouse Construction. I said I didn't know anyone but she could post it on the Rigby 5th Ward Facebook page. We hung up and I realized I had been praying that I would be able to get debt free. I have one credit card that needs to be paid off. Then I knew it was a blessing that she called me. So I called her back and said I would love to work for her. She is paying me $16.00 per hour and it's only part time. If I can't work it's okay and if I need to bring Gracie with me it's okay. Who gets an offer like that. And it turns out that she is patient with me as I learn to do this job. Now how about that for an answer to prayer.

So today I went again to work some more on A/R. I got it all done and received another sweatshirt. A black one this time. 

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the answers to prayers. And I am grateful for my friend and boss Karen.

Going to Work

Karen called and asked if I could go to work. So off I went. I worked on A/R. I put in deposits and printed statements. Karen came in with her walker about 2pm with her mom. She is doing so good since her hip replacement.
I worked until 6 pm and then went home. I was a little tired. But I got a new sweatshirt from Rhodehouse Construction. I had forgotton my sweater and only had my coat, which was hard to work in. Brenda said I had a sweatshirt in the closet. I was so excited because I could wear an XL and it was loose. Yeah me, I don't have to always get 3X or 2X. So all this dieting has been so worth it. And it kept me cozy warm all day long.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my job. I am grateful that I can earn extra money. Blessed!

Alice came to play with Gracie today. They always have so much fun together. I am glad Gracie has her for a friend. They played Barbie's and of course, made a mess. But Gracie had fun so it's all OK.

I managed to go to the store and get some groceries. I really need to go Winco. Maybe some time this week. It's snowy and cold and making me fell down. I must get in a better mood.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my cozy warm house that I can snuggle in on cold days.

This morning Gracie and I went to church. They released the Relief Society Presidency and put in Connie. But the good news is that I now have Sue Westland for my team teacher. So I am a Happy Camper. Gracie went to her own class and had a good time.

I came home and did nothing. I made chicken and rice for dinner. Janna and AJ went over to Steve's tonight to talk about opening up a Juvenile Facility. I am so impressed how much of a hard worker my daughter is. And how she cares about people so much.

I am going to read the next two chapter of Come Follow Me.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for our ward. What a blessing to go to church and partake of the Sacrament.

I didn't do much today. I worked on my blog and finally got it all caught. I have just been down in the dumps for some dumb reason. Maybe it's because I have lost the best team teacher I have ever worked with. How dare the Bishop want her for Relief Society President. I worked on my lesson a little bit. I think I have it pretty much planned.

My little Gracie made me another Birthday Card. She drew a picture of me, her and AJ. How cute is that. She spent most of the day over at Janna's watching TV. I just love this little cutie so much.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for this little munchkin. She is sweet and kind and so so sassy. I am so blessed to help raise this kid.

I didn't go to the Gym with Connie today because I was just down in the dumps and soooo tired. Gracie and I watched cartoons all day. I did get in my car and go get the mail for Karen and deliver it to her. I worked on this blog. I am so close to being caught up.
I also worked on my Primary lesson and got all the handout and extra ready for Sunday. I love this site LovePrayTeach that has so many things for the new lessons for "Come Follow Me"'

I made halibut, cole slaw and green beans for dinner. It was yummy. Dean is going to have to go to Alaska and catch some more.

I picked up the dogs from the groomers. They were so glad to get home. They went to the front yard and went potty all over the place. They look so good.

I have been watching the closer this evening but now it's time for bed.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my dog Molly. She is a loyal and beloved dog. I am blessed that she has been part of  my life these many years.

Lazy Snowy Day

I spent most of the day working on this blog and hanging out with Gracie. It seemed that I got a million birthday wishes. I felt loved all day long. Dean called me, Tanner and Hailey called me,

Austin called me, Harley called me. Bailee wished me a happy birthday and Ruth called me. Then there was the facebook friends. It was a good birthday.

It pretty much snowed all day long. Those huge snowflake that just flutter out of the sky. It was so pretty.

I picked up the mail for Karen and took it to her. Then I got the checks and took them to the bank to deposit them. I had to go to the post office and then take a bunch of paperwork to Brenda. That took about 2 hours but it was worth it. I love a paycheck. 

It's time for bed now so Good Night journal.

Gracie and I went to the Library this morning to check out some books and take some back. We couldn't check any out because their computer system was down. So we went upstairs and Gracie looked at her book. Then we went to see the fish on our way out. She loves this library.

Then we went to Walmart to get some groceries and I got a new Fitbit HR. My old one just quit working. And it wasn't very old either. I need to take it back to Best Buy. This is my third one. AJ said I should get an apple watch. I am beginning to believe him.

I spent the afternoon making Pork Chops in the crock pot with Marinara Sauce and working on this blog. I am almost caught up.

The door bell rang this evening and I opened the door to these wonderful Missionaries. They were very sweet and I really enjoyed their visit. I took this picture of them and sent it to their moms. 

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for these wonderful missionaries. I only wish that Tommy would really listen. I am blessed to believe!!!

I went to the Gym with Connie today and walked on the treadmill for 20 minutes. I am trying to take it slowly until my leg and fanny quit hurting. I was glad I went.

I came home and tried to get Gracie to comb her hair and put on clean clothes. She was having none of it. She had the flu and ended up in the ER so I don't worry about the small things. But tomorrow she is taking a bath and putting on clean clothes.

I made Fajita Soup and Chocolate Cake to take to Karen. She had surgery on her hip yesterday and came home today. That's a little too fast for me.

After delivering that I ordered Pizza for Gracie and Tommy and spent the night watching TV and posting on this blog.

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful that I was able to serve today. I am blessed to have the opportunity to serve Karen and her family. "Come Follow Me", it's what the Savior did.

Today Gracie stayed home from school. She is still coughing so Janna didn't want her to go yet. It was a good thing too because about 2 pm she started getting hot. So I gave her some medicine. She watched cartoons all day and laid on the couch.

We made a strawberry smoothie together and she had snacks all day long. I was a little tired of watching cartoons. But I worked on this blog all day trying to catch up. I am almost there then I can start scrapping again. 

It was blowing a gale this morning but by afternoon the sun came out and it was beautiful. It was a good day so all is well.

Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for my scriptures. As I study and ponder I learn more and more. Blessing are coming my way.

 Connie Teaching About The Savior

Today was the first day of the new changes that President Nelson announced in General Conference.
It was nice to have a 2 hour block. The 20 minutes went fast. But it was nice to be home by 2:15. 

I made a rotisserie chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and broccoli. It was yummy. I ate the chicken and broccoli. Sticking to Atkins no matter what.

We have a new class of Sunbeams. They are so cute and sweet. It will be so fun teaching these sweeties this year. New lesson manuals to teach them about the Savior. Wahoo!!

Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for these little ones and being able to teach them. I am so blessed!

Working Again

I went to work again today to finish up the deposits. Karen and her mom and Brenda were there with me. It was fun and I was so happy when Brenda told me that I looked skinny. Beaming Face!
I went to Broulims on the way home and got some groceries. How can three bags of groceries be over $100.00. I made pulled pork in my crock pot so the family would have something to eat. I had a bowl of Fajita Chicken Soup. I love it and it is delicious.
I am watching my new TV that Janna and AJ bought me for my Birthday and AJ installed today. It is wonderful. It's like being in a movie theater.
Grateful Statement:  I am so grateful for Janna and AJ. They take such good care of us. I am so blessed.

Working

I worked from 10:30 am today until 10:15 pm. What a long day. Karen and I worked on deposits all day long. I was more than a little tired by the time we got through. I had to get gas at the Osgood Store on my way home. I was so tired I could hardly wait to go to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for a part time job to earn a little extra money. I am blessed!

Beginning Again

I have decided to start again keeping my journal in blog form. So here goes. I started in May when Austin graduated and went through my pictures and wrote about them. I am also taking a scrapbooking class again so I watched video's. I am learning lots of things.
I spent the day watching TV, making Pinto Beans in my Crockpot and Corn Bread for dinner.
I made a Prayer Chart for our primary class. I love the new 2 hour block and only 20 minute class time.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful that I love to learn things. I am always looking for something new to learn. Blessed!
