Decorated Christmas Tree

Today I finally finished decorating my tree. What a relief. I also indexed bunch of batches and did laundry and I don't know what all. Then I made Spaghetti for dinner and Jello salad and that was my day. Then tonight I went to Hailey's basketball game. It was so exciting and they won so that makes it even better. Then John and I went to Walmart. It took forever. I was behind a lady with her coupon book. But I had patience and kept on smiling. Now I'm going to go to bed....
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the Christmas season. It's such a magical time of the year. I love it. I will try to remember the birth of my Savior above all the pretty lights, presents and good food.
Section 98 - Section 99  This section deals with the mobs in Missouri and how the Saints were to turn the other cheek. I think that would be very hard. But the Lord promises them many blessing.

Visit to the Doctor

We were supposed to have a Presidency Meeting this morning but Susan called and Michelle is out of town so we will have it another time. This is a picture of my brand spanking new water bottle. It holds 32 oz and I am going to drink at least 2 of these a day. I get so dehydrated from lack of water that this should fix that right up.
I worked on Christmas Presents today. Shhhh, it's a surprise. I got done what I wanted so I'm a happy camper. I also made Italian Pasta Bean soup and French Bread. The soup was pretty good and the French Bread tasted good but I used the Corn Meal I had ground from corn with Kathy's grinder and it  was too coarse. So the bottom of the bread had these hard pieces of Corn Meal in them. I'll try that another time and us the sifted Corn Meal.
I took some soup down to Heather because she has Strep Throat again. It is so miserable to be sick I hope she gets over it soon. I miss my walking partner.
I was supposed to go to the doctor at 11am today but they rescheduled me for 3:50. It was hard to replan my day and get my cooking done. But I did manage. My blood pressure was elevated but Dr. Clark said it could be from being stressed. I'm supposed to take it everyday and see what it is. If it stays under 140 on the top he says I am good. If it doesn't he'll have to up my medication. And of course, I need to lose some weight.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Dr. Clark. I have been going to him since I moved here and he is such a good and caring Doctor. I really trust him with my health.
Section 97 - Section 98  This section deals with the Saints being forced to sign an agreement to leave Jackson County. What persecution was heaped upon these Saints.

Tithing Settlement

I went to church today by myself. Tommy just didn't want to go. I'm tired of thinking about it and told him he didn't have to go if he didn't want to. It was easier on me not to be mad about it so it's my new strategy. My Sundays will go better, I just know it. We did go to Tithing Settlement tonight with Bishop Bluth. He is such a wonderful man. Susan taught our lesson today and it was awesome. All about cutting down our list if there is too much on it and doing more if we are sitting in our rocking chair not doing enough.
Grateful Statement: I am very grateful today for Susan. To be able to teach a lesson on the spur of the moment and do so good is a gift.
Section 96 - Section 97  This section has to do with the French farm and what to do with it. Very interesting how these things came up.

Day of Laziness

I guess I'm just tired from our Idaho trip. I shouldn't be but I am. I pretty much did nothing today. I played a little Frontierville to stave off complete boredom, Indexed more census', took the dog out a few times, unpacked my bags and that's about it. I really need to get a life!! John took Malachi home and he promised to come back at Christmas for a visit.
Grateful Statement:  Today I am grateful for the opportunity I had to spend a week with Malachi. I had been thinking of him alot. He is a wonderful Grandson.
Section 95 - Section 96  I love the phrase in verse 6 that says "They who are not chosen have sinned a very grievous sin, in that they are walking in darkness at noon-day."

Back in Utah

My silly cute Austin

We came home to frozen pipes in the downstairs laundry room. Tommy thinks it's the drain. We have always had trouble with it. The pipes are on the outside of the house so I think it freezes the drain. So if you do laundry it overflows. John and Tommy cleaned all that up.
This picture is of Janna and Harley trying to save this horse. It's called team work. They walked it yesterday forever and gave it medicine. It seemed to be doing pretty good. Then last night the stall it was in had a broken water line in the middle of the night so she got too cold. The vet tried to keep it going but finally it just laid down and wouldn't get back up. Harley was heart broken. She loved Freckles. I posted on facebook that horses do go to Heaven and now great grandma has something to ride.
John and Malachi went to KFC for chicken for us for dinner and now it's time for me to snuggle in my nice comfy bed and watch TV.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my Harley. She works so hard on her little farm and has such a tender spot in her heart for all animals. Maggie is at her heels 24/7. They are quite a pair. I know she is so sad today for Freckles.
Section 94 - Section 95  I wonder if the building committee in 1833 would have believed what the building committee in 2010 word be working on. Just makes me know the Lord is in charge.

Thankful for Everything Day

Today Janna and I cooked and cooked and cooked. It was fun. Then when everyone came over we ate and ate and ate. Kim, Gene, Bailey and Jill came for dinner with Boyd. For dessert JD and Bailey, Jeremy, Leslie and Jersie came. What a great family day. Scott was in seventh heaven with his two granddaughters. They are adorable. I took pictures and I really love this one of Janna and Jersie. And  of course my sweet Bailee. I had to put another one on of Malachi. He is such a sweet boy. Very polite and helpful. We have had a fabulous Thanksgiving Day. Good friends, family and food.
Grateful Statement: Today I am so grateful for Bailee J. She is so sweet. She didn't go home with her cousins to spend the night because she wanted to stay with grandma and grandpa until we leave tomorrow. How sweet is that!!
Section 93 - Section 94  I was surprised to read how the Lord told all the early Church leaders that they needed to put their houses in order and their children.

Burrrrrrrrrrr Cold!

It's below zero with the wind chill factor. The sun was shining and it looked warm until Janna and I went to the store. As soon as I went out the door to get in the car I really thought I'd freeze to death. We got more groceries for this bunch of people. Kids never stop snacking. I spent the day making Apple Brown Betty and indexing and playing cards with the kids. Bailee and her computer, Austin and Malachi putting together a model and our worker Harley feeding all her horses in the freezing weather. Even the dogs got cold. I am having a wonderful time with these grandkids.
Janna and Scott went to the new $5 pizza place in town to get us dinner. Now I don't have to cook dinner. I'm always ready to NOT cook...
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for a warm cozy house, family and all that goes with it. I am truly blessed.
Section 90 - Section 93  Very interesting how the First Presidency was set up. Heavenly Father was so precise in how it was done.

Declared a County Disaster

Harley watching TV on her computer.
Uncle John buried Austin in the snow shoveled from the porch.
Malachi with his Ipod.
Grandpa and Bailee shoveling the walk with Molly and Maggy.

Tommy and I got up this morning and braved the snow and went to the store. The roads were treacherous. We just put it in low and away we went. We got home just in time before they declared Jefferson County a Disaster. They closed everything so Janna and Scott got off early. Janna made it home but Scott has spent the afternoon pulling people out of ditches. It was a whiteout all afternoon. I made Chocolate Chip cookies, indexed and had fun with my grandkids.
Janna made Baked Ziti. It was yummy good. Then we spent the night watching the wind blow snow sideways and watching TV in our nice warm house. I hope all the homeless people found shelter tonight. I always think about them on nights like these.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today for my grandkids. They just fill my life with joy and make me happy.
Section 89 - Section 90 I so love the last verse in this section where it tells me if I live the commandments the I will run and not be weary and walk and not faint and the destroying angle shall pass me by. It just makes me want to try harder and harder.

Made it to Idaho

Malachi and Austin
I went to my Presidency Meeting this morning until about 11:30 and then I had to go to the doctor to get blood test done for my appointment next week. After I got home from that we loaded up and left for Idaho. We stopped in Tremonton for lunch at Denny's. I ordered a hamburger and could only eat 1/2. I was stuffed. I did save a crouton from my salad for Molly. She did really good after we got through Orem. I love her car sickness pills. They really worked this time. It was snowy off and on but not very bad until we got off at County Line Road on the way to Janna's. The roads were shiny with ice and the wind was blowing the snow into drifts. Some of them went all the way to the middle line on the road. No wonder Harley said she didn't like snow drifts. We finally got to Janna's house and waded through snow drifts to get in the house. I was glad to finally get here and snuggled into Janna's warm house.
We are waiting for Janna to get off work. She has to put a kid in a patrol car and take him to detention. Then she will be right here. We made oatmeal for dinner and that's the end of this day...
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful to be able to go to Janna's for Thanksgiving. I miss her and love to be with her. We have so much fun together and especially at the Holidays.
Section 88 - Section 89  In verse 63 it says "Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek me diligently and ye shall find me; ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." I love this verse. It says so much about how Heavenly Father waits for us to come to him. He is always there with open arms. Very comforting!

Malachi Is Here!

I went to church this morning by myself. Tommy had the Sunday Morning Sickness. It's a running joke in our family. I swear it's like raising teenagers. But church was good. I wasn't feeling all that hot, headache and tired, but I went and that's what counts.
After church Tommy and I went to Dean and Amie's for Tacos and Pumpkin Ice Cream. Very yummy! John went and picked up Malachi. What a cute kid. His hair is very dark now. It is so good to see him again and to have him spend Thanksgiving with us is such a blessing. I have been thinking of him alot lately. Many pictures will follow.
Now it's time to go to bed and hug my pillow. I need to get up rested in the morning so I can get packed before my presidency meeting.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my grandson Malachi. He is so loving and kind. Molly took right to him so she has a new friend.
Section 87 - Section 88  How did Joseph Smith know about the Civil War and what would take place. Gift of Prophecy, that's what he had.

Stormy Indexing Day

It has been blowing and sprinkling off and on all day. The big storm is on it's way. I indexed all day today in between doing laundry. John put up more lights and my Christmas tree so now I need to decorate it. He started but soon lost interest. I know how he feels. I hope I will feel more like doing it later.
Tonight we are doing a Speed Scrap with Stuff to Scrap Forum. Lori, Judy, Heather and Gerri all come over and we did it together. Half of us couldn't get on the Stuff to Scrap Forum so we finally just posted them to the Learn With Me site. It was a ton of fun even with all our problems.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the indexing program. You feel like you are doing something really worth while. I didn't realize how much I had missed it.
Section 86 - Section 87 I like the way this sections explain the parable of the wheat and the tares. I never want to be a tare. Satan planted them.

Skyhawks Basketball Shoot Out

I went to the cannery with Amie this morning and realized as we pulled up that it was closed on Friday. I really am losing my mind! So we went to Roberts and I got 2 12X12 frames to see if I like my pages framed. Then we went to Good Earth and I got some pumpkin seeds for granola.
I spent the afternoon on Tech Support. First with Linksys and finally got my wireless going again. I had to get a password from them to get into my wireless. I also ordered a new router as mine has one port that has gone out and probably soon they will all go out. I've had it for a number of years so I guess it's time for a new one. Then I was on the phone with New Family Search. My Ingram line is so messed up. They had to do a report to get someone to look at the mess and see what they can do to fix it.
Tonight Tommy and I went to Hailey's basketball Shoot Out. I think that's what you call it. It was fun to watch her play and Tyler Tuckett too. Susan and Dave were there watching Tyler so I got a good back rub from Susan. Now that's why I love serving with her in Relief Society. Hailey is trying to give me her mean look. I think she might have succeeded and her awesome basketball shoes have Ingram on the back of them. What a beautiful young lady and she gave me her most beautiful smile as soon as I took this picture.
Grateful Statement:  Today I am grateful for Amie. She is such a sweet daughter in law. I was thinking about going to see Father of The Bride with her when her and Dean were dating and she leaned over to me and said with a lot of determintion, "I am going to be your daughter in law". I am so glad she was right. Dean is a pretty smart guy when it comes to choosing a mate and the mother of his children.
Section 85 - Section 86 I read all about what the manual says about what it is to "Steady the Ark". President David O McKay warned that unauthorized men and women who attempt to "steady the ark" die spiritually. This refers to the saints who think the church is not being run right and they know how to fix it. Very interesting reading...

Provo Temple Day

Heather and I went to the Provo Temple this morning with Gwen. Kiersten was supposed to go with us but she had too much going on at work. So she will come next time. I got 18 baptisms done and did 5 Initiories. It was a wonderful day. I felt really instructed on things to do. I love how everything becomes so clear in the Temple. I need to submit baptisms through New Family Search. You can just have the Temple do the Ordinances you want them to do. Pretty cool. So that's how I'm going to do my names from now on.
After I came home I ate lunch and John took me down to the walking track in Salem and dropped me off while he went to get his hair cut. Molly and I walked 3 times around. I did it!! That's a miracle for me. I just have to keep on plugging along.
John called Malachi and invited him to come with us to Janna's for Thanksgiving and he agreed. I am so excited to really get to know him again. It's been awhile since I've saw him.
Grateful Statement:   Today I'm grateful for the Provo Temple and the inspiration you get while in this Holy place.
Section 81 - Section 85  In section 84 it lists all the signs that will follow them that believe.

Celebrating Judy's Birthday

Heather and I went to Anytime Fitness in Salem and I walked on their treadmill for 30 minutes and then rode a bike uphill and down for 30 minutes. It was a good workout. I think I'm going to join. Right now I'm on a 2 week trial membership and I even have my very own key.
After that I did some more indexing and we took Judy out to Chinese food for her birthday. Aren't I just the cutest. If I can post a picture of me looking like this no one can complain about their pictures. But what you see is what you get.
I made 2 dishes of Rice Pudding, one to take and one to keep. I love Rice Pudding. And it's one of the cheapest desserts you can make. It reminds me of my Grandma Petersen. I talked with Ethel for a little while today. She is doing really good. I just love that cousin of mine. I also talked with my daughter a couple of times. Scott's truck is broken and has to be repaired and it will cost about $1200. Her and I seem to have vehicle problems all the time.
I took Rice Pudding over to Yvonne. I love that she loves rice pudding as much as I do...
Grateful Statement: Today I'm grateful for wonderful friends like Heather and Judy. They make my life brighter and happier. I am blessed to have really good friends in my life.
Section 77 - Section 81  I love the question and answer part of section 77. Very plain and simple truths about the John the Revelator.

Indexing Again

Heather and I went walking this morning but only made it around the track twice. The wind was blowing hard and it gave me an ear ache so we quit. I came home and spent a considerable amount of time with Qwest trying to figure out what's wrong with my internet. The conclusion reached was it is my Linksys Wireless Router. It worked this morning and then it didn't. I can't connect to Linksys as it tells me I have to have a password. I'm saving Linksys tech support for tomorrow. For now I'm hooked directly up to the internet with no wireless.
Then I decided that I needed to start indexing again. Of course it wouldn't work so I had to call support and have them help me to download the program. Got that all fixed and downloaded the first batch to arbitrate and it was an index of marriage records that were indexed. I was on the phone with support for a long time and the word was to arbitrate it anyway. It's a ton of names and one person put in a page number and the other one didn't so I have to arbitrate each record. There's probably over 500 names on this batch. It can only get better from here! And I have arbitrated 750 names today! Wahoo!!!
I had a wonderful salad for dinner. And John put up my Christmas Lights. Now I'm really a happy camper.
Grateful Statement: Today I'm so grateful for technical support in all areas. Church and otherwise.  I would be lost without someone's help on these things.
Section 76 - Section 77  This section really explains the three degrees of glory from Joseph Smith's vision.

Presidency Meeting Again

We had a long presidency meeting this morning. We are getting really organized and making the changes we need to for the new handbook. We are only off on a couple of things. Everything else we are "spot on" as Susan says. I just love working with these ladies.
The rest of the afternoon I took a nap and played on my computer and didn't accomplish one dang thing. Shame on me. I tried to sew. I even made it to my sewing room but that was it. I moved pattern pieces around and came back upstairs. I tried to psych myself into taking a walk but it looked too cold. I can find a million reasons if I don't want to do something. In my defense I woke up at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep so I was kind of tired, but then it seems I am always tired. Tomorrow is another day and I'm going to accomplish something.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my son John who at this moment is in the kitchen making tacos for us for dinner. My own personal chef!
Section 75 - Section 76  The church is instructed to take care of the missionaries and their families while they are sent out into the world.

Beautiful Sabbath

Tommy and I went to the Stake Center at 8:30 am to meeting with President Trevort. He gave us our certificates for our 3 years of service at the cannery. It made me rather sad. I think I need another mission. If Tommy won't serve I'll have to find one I can do alone. We all have our crosses to bear. I just have to have a happy heart as I bear mine. That's my new goal, A Happy Heart, not just a happy face.
I washed all the lettuce and spun it for our salad tonight. Can I say again how much I love my salad spinner. Thanks to Heather for picking it up for me. I also made 1000 Island dressing and Ranch so the salad is all set to be put together. John made delicious Lasagna and Toasted French Bread. Dean and Amie and kids came to eat with us. It was delish. Amie brought a Pumpkin Cheese Cake for dessert. It is better than Pumpkin Pie. And to top this wonderful day off my Tommy is in doing the dishes for me. What a life I have!!
Grateful Statement: Today I have been thinking about my Hannah and how much I just love her. She is sweet, cute, smart and athletic. And she's as tall as me. She was never supposed to get taller than grandma. I am so glad Heavenly Father sent her to our family.
Section 73 - Section 75 This whole section says that "Little Children Are Holy". And I truly believe that. After watching the primary program in church I really felt the spirit in their songs and words.

Too Muddy!!

Harrison spent the night last night because Dean and Amie went to St George so they could run in a triathalon. You go Dean!! Harrison went to a birthday party and watched TV. I couldn't sleep at all last night. Don't know why but I know it irritated me. So this morning I was so tired. I got Harrison up at 7am so he would be ready to be picked up to go to the Pow Wow at BYU for scouts. Then I laid back down and slept a couple of hours.
John and I were going to go for a walk up Payson Canyon but when we got there is was so muddy we couldn't go. But Molly had a ball running across this log. She loves the great outdoors. So instead of walking we went and did some grocery shopping. That really made me tired. But I got what I needed so I'm good for another week.
I went to the Worldwide Training at the Stake Center. It was so wonderful. Many changes in Relief Society. We were well instructed and inspired.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for the training the church has for us. We are always well instructed so we can do our callings in a manner that is pleasing to the Lord.
Section 72 - Section 73  Edward Partridge was presiding Bishop over Newel K Whitney. When Bishop Partridge died in May 1840 Bishop Whitney became presiding Bishop. That's what I've written in my margins.

Walking Again

Heather and I walked 4 times around the track today. It was pretty easy. After walking I came home and washed all my Temple stuff. It's nice to have it all clean and shiny. I did other laundry also and made a cake and some rice for Tommy Dean. He likes desserts. The rest of the day I just don't know what I did. Nothing too important. I do remember working on these reunion pages. I put elements on them. They are finished. Tomorrow maybe I can get the one redone that I don't like.
Grateful Statement:  Today I am grateful for such a beautiful day. I was so good to walk in the sunshine.
Section 70 - Section 72  Can you imagine being preached to by Joseph Smith. His must have been a powerful testimony.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

Today Heather came and picked me up and we went and picked up Kiersten and went to the Temple. It was such a beautiful Temple. I really wanted to see the star shaped chandelier and I was able to see it in the Celestial Room after we did a session. It is breathtaking. We stopped at In N Out for lunch on the way home. We picked up two of Kiersten's daughters in Orem and came home. I laid down for an hour trying to take a nap so I could stay awake to scrap. No such luck.
Heather and Gerri came over and we scrapbooked. I finished my Reunion layouts. I am going to redo my first page I made and make it match the ones I did. It was a fun night with my scrap buddies. We always have fun together.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the Oquirrh Temple. What a beautiful, peaceful place to spend an afternoon.
Section 69 - Section 70  The prophet Joseph Smith refers to the Doctrine and Covenants as being "the foundation of the Church in these last days, and a benefit to the world, showing that the keys of the mysteries of the kingdom of our Savior are again entrusted to man".

Visiting Teaching Day

We were supposed to have a meeting this morning but Jacque couldn't so Michelle and I gathered up our manual. We are getting new ones so we needed to turn in our old ones. Then I went visiting teaching with Jacque to Joan Durrant and Liz. Liz had forgotten so we tracked her down at the church and gave her a lesson there. It was good to visit with everyone.
I made a coffee cake, corn bread, jello salad and beans for dinner. I had lots of energy today so I was able to get a lot accomplished. My visiting teachers are coming to visit me at 6:30 tonight so it has truly been a visiting teaching day.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my visiting teaching partner, Jacque. She is so fun to go visiting teaching with. She seems always close to the Spirit.
Section 68 - Section 69 In the Student Manual from BYU it says that signs follow faithful believers. We are not to seek signs. It makes us less faithful.

Snowy Mountains

I wasn't feeling very good today. The dreaded sore throat and sinus is still with me. I think it's getting better though. I just mainly took naps and did a couple loads of laundry. Then we had another showing of our house so I had to pick up a few things and then John and I left and took a drive up Payson Canyon so he could show me where he and Molly walked all summer. He walked all over that place. I was able to take these pictures on the way down the canyon. I really loved the last one of Utah Lake looking through the canyon. My crazy little dog just loves the snow. I came home and made dinner and now it's time to count sheep...
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my hubby and John who help me so much. They do housework for me and cook and do my dishes. I think I'm spoiled.
Section 67 - Section 68  In verse 13 the elders are told that they are not able to abide the presence of God. They were doubting the revelations of Joseph Smith.

Do Nothing Day

Heather and I went down to Salem to walk today. We made it one time around before we were dripping wet. So we went back home. I went to visit Arleen today. We had a very nice visit and I am going to start helping her do her genealogy on Mondays. Then I pretty much did nothing all day long. I just didn't feel up to doing anything. I still have my sore throat and sinus thingy, so today was a very lazy day.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the rain that has fallen. I know we need it and it was nice to be in my cozy house while it rained outside.
Section 66 - Section 67  In verse 2 it says we will be made partakers of the glories which are to be revealed in the last days. I so want to be a partaker of the glories. Enduring to the end, that's the ticket.

Steadfast and Immovable

I went to Welfare Meeting this morning and then Tommy and I went to church. I took Tommy home after Sacrament because he has a hurt back. Then I went back and taught my Relief Society Lesson. It was by Sylvia Allred called "Steadfast and Immovable". It really touched my heart. I hope I am steadfast and immovable. I think I am but there are so many things I need to get better at. Pray and fasting come to mind.
We went down to Dean and Amie's for dinner. Amie made Bake Ziti. It was so delish. I took this picture of Hailey sitting on the countertop. What a character she is. Love the red eye and long eyelashes.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today for my wonderful Amie. I love how she writes Dean's bishopric messages for him even when she doesn't want to. That's a true wife. She is just the sweetest and I love her. I am glad she chose Dean to marry.
Section 65 - Section 66  In verse 2 it talks about the Gospel rolling forth to the ends of the earth. I think we are seeing this now.

Showing the House

I was going to go with Heather and Gerri this morning at 8:30 to a trail in Pleasant Grove to take pictures of some waterfalls. But I got a call from a Realtor that wanted to show the house so I spent the morning cleaning my house. I love that my house is so clean. It always makes me want to clean cupboards and closets when everything else is done. John and Tommy went with Dean to put up signs and I took the dog and went to Rite Aid to pick up my prescriptions and them Molly and I went for a walk. I came home and worked on my lesson for tomorrow.
I am getting a sore throat so I hope I'll be okay tomorrow. I was kind of tired yesterday and this morning I just started having a hard time swallowing. But we'll see what tomorrow brings.
Dean took John to Target and bought his some new clothes. Isn't that just the kindest thing. Dean has always been very generous with his family.
Harrison came to my house after his birthday party. I didn't know he had braces. He says they hurt. Poor fellow. I guess you gotta go through tough things to be handsome...
Now it's time to go over my lesson some more and get to bed early so I can get a good nights sleep.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Harrison Thomas Ingram. He is such a sweet boy. Always so pleasant and cheerful. He is a good student and will make a fabulous missionary when he gets big.
Section 64 - Section 65 In verse 10 it says, "I, the Lord, forgive whom I will forgive, but of you it is required to forgive all men." I have learned through my life that we need to forgive so our souls will not be cankered by ill feelings for others. I have had to practice this in

Progressive Luncheon

I got up this morning and made Taco Soup for our progressive lunch. We met at Lynn's at noon and had appetizers, on to Everett Richmond's little log cabin in Payson where we learned all about Prescilla Parker and had homemade soup and rolls, on to the Temple site where Shamayne told about the history of Temples and Kathy Holcomb bore testimony of how the Temple has helped her and is still helping her with Dave's illness. She said he has no more than a year to live and they still try to go to the Temple every week. It was such a wonderful event. We finished it off at the Belnap's home for dessert and conversation. I think the sisters liked it.
Grateful Statement:  Today I am grateful for a Temple to be built in Payson. It was wonderful to stand on the site and feel Heavenly Fathers love for me.
Section 63 - Section 64  In verse 61 it says "Wherefore, let all men beware how they take my name to their lips." I think we have to be so careful that we do not speak the Lord's name in any manner that is not filled with reverence. It really made me think that I must be very careful how I speak of Him.

Substituting at Cannery

Heather and I walk our four times around this morning. They loaded up more big cows today and are taking them somewhere. It was quite the site. Heather and I watched them load them in a big double decker trailer. Very interesting how they did it. I must say I felt sorry for them. After roaming around eating grass for so long and then herded into a trailer with a ton of other cows. I don't think they liked it too much.
After my walk I worked on my lesson for Sunday and the presentation for Friday. I hope I have it in my head now. I just have a hard time because I get too nervous.
Then we went to the cannery and worked for Elder McQueen so he could watch his granddaughter play in some championship game.
Now I'm going to finish this up and hit the hay. I didn't get my nap today so I'm tired, which is good for me because my days and nights are really getting mixed up.
Grateful Statement:  Today I am grateful for my granddaughter Hailey. She now has her drivers license. I am so proud of the fabulous young woman she has become.
Section 62 - Section 63 In verse 9 it says "And behold, and lo, I am with the faithful always." So comforting to know if we are faithful he will always be with us.

Fall Leaves

I looked out on my patio and this is what I saw. It is beautiful. These trees grow right beside my patio so they shade in the summer and give me this wonderful golden hue in the fall.
Heather and I walked this morning. We took her two cute little dogs with us. It was quite the experience. They couldn't figure out the cows or the horses and they really took us for a walk. We had to dodge cow poo because 4 cows were out walking on our walking path and cows never go far without pooing... But we had fun and a few laughs and got our walk in. That's what counts.
Then I came home and went to a digi scrap party over at Lisa's. Such cute things. I got two Christmas presents done already. Can't wait to get them. I also got tons of ideas on decorating with my scrapped pages. Lori and her sister Heidi did a wonderful job making it look so easy.
Then I took a nap as I am having a hard time getting to sleep at night. Just not tired until in the morning. I have become my grandma. She always took naps. Of course she had a heart condition and I just like them.
Now I'm going to go eat BBQ chicken sandwichs John has made for us for dinner.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for my digi scrapping buddies. We always have so much fun together.
Section 61 - Section 62  In verse 39 It says, "Pray always that you enter not into temptation, that you may abide the day of his coming, whether in life or in death." I am going to add to my prayers that I will be able to abide the day of his coming.

Upset Calves

Heather and I walked today and saw the farmer separating the calves from their mom. It was quite the process. The calves were extremely upset and made such a racket. Between the moms and the calves it was deafening.
I came home from walking and Tommy and I went up and voted. I got to wear my sticker all day.
Then I took John and Molly to the top of Elk Ridge so they could go hiking in the mountains. I had to give the dog a bath because she was so dirty. She must roll around in the dirt to get that bad. After these long walks she comes home and goes right to sleep and doesn't move for a long time.
I worked on my presentation for Relief Society on Friday all afternoon. I think I've finally got it all together. Now I need to start on my lesson for Sunday. We all know how much I love to teach. I wish teaching was as easy as talking for me. It would be a piece of cake.
Now it's time to go hug my pillow. I just know it's calling my name.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the opportunity to vote and especially to live in this wonderful country. I LOVE AMERICA!!
Section 59 - Section 61  In verse 21 it says "And in nothing doth man offend God, or against none is his wrath kindled, save those who confess not his hand in all things, and obey not his commandments." That is pretty clear to me. I must always acknowledge his hand in all things in my life.

Mi Rancherito

Today has been very productive. I spring cleaned my laundry room. Everything in it got wiped down and I clean under my washer and dryer. I had tons of dust bunnies. Then I moved out all the stuff in my kitchen and used my Shark on the kitchen floor. It looks very clean and shiny.
Then Heather and I went for our walk. We walked around 3 times. I was tired from all the house work and Heather had about a million things to get done. I came home from our walk and finished cleaning and worked on Relief Society stuff and made a Coffee Cake. I didn't like the recipe so I'm trying another one next time.
Tonight Tommy, John and I went to Mi Rancherito in Payson for dinner. Very yummy!! And we didn't have to fix it or do dishes. We were happy campers. John even  let me take his picture from the side. Mom's never give up. I am always trying to sneak pictures of him.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the energy I have had to clean my house. I am grateful for days when I get up and feel really good and have lots of energy. Today was one of those gifts from Heavenly Father.
Section 58 - Section 59  In verse 4 it say, "For after much tribulation come the blessings." How comforting that is to us as we go through the tribulations of earth life.

Lazy Day
