Austin and The Cardboard Boxes

Austin had a great time playing with the boxes that our cabinets came in. He stacked them up and meditated on top. What a funny kid. I spent the day straightening up and hanging out. I had to get laundry done and Janna and I took the kids to Walmart to get outfits for their trip to Utah.

Catch Up Time Again

Kitchen cabinets are getting installed.

Harley and Baby Red
Harley is the Horse Whisperer. She is trying to talk to little Red. I finished all the trim painting today. But after cleaning everything up I realized I had forgotten to do the doorway into the laundry room.
We started installing our cabinets but found we had measured wrong so they didn't fit. So after having a melt down and looking at Tommy and saying, "Can anything go right" we ordered two new upper and lower so they will fit. Then we realized that we could put the cabinets in our laundry room so I am a happy camper.

Kitchen Cabinets Delivered

Tommy and I went to Lowe's this morning trying to order vanity cabinets for our bathrooms. They have a 6 - 8 week delivery. Too long! I don't know what we are going to do. We got all the hardware for our doors and came home and I learned to caulk. I am becoming a pro... LOL! It's a lot of work but I guess building a house is hard work. I got my closet and bedroom done. I'm trying to get the rooms done where the carpet goes.
They delivered our kitchen cabinets this afternoon. Thank goodness we have a garage to store them in until we can install them.
I am very tired and ready for bed so good night, sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite. My grandma used to say that to me at night.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the internet. I went and found video on caulking. What a world we live in. So much knowledge at our fingertips.

Home Depot and Lowe's

Tommy and I worked on the baseboards some more today and went to Lowe's and Home Depot trying to find a vanity for our bathroom. They didn't have any that would work. So tomorrow we are going back to Lowe's and order two. Hopefully it won't take forever to get them. We also got our toilets and faucets. So more things to cross off our list.
I also did all my book work. It takes a long time to balance my accounts but they are done. The kids had their first day of vacation so they played with friends and had a good time. The irrigation water came yesterday and today so the pastures were flooded. They go out and try to find fish. How funny is that. Now it's raining buckets. We had to go put a plastic bag around the vent for the microwave. The plumber still has something to do on the roof.
That's been my day. I'm tired and I'm going to bed....
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Tommy. He is so good at doing stuff. He can do anything. I think he must be a genius. Well, he's my genius.

Miss Tassie is in Heaven

Bailee helped me decorate Tassie's grave.
The four new kitties of Bailee's.
 Such cute little things.
The new goat named Patch born yesterday.
 Bailee and her grandma...
Janna, Bailee and I went to church today. When we came home my kitty had passed away. I'm glad it was quick for her. She looked a little tired but I thought she would be alright. I guess my mom needed her in Heaven. Mom always loved that cat. I got her for mom 14 years ago when Harley was a baby. Janna and I found her and her sister in a pet store in Orem and just fell in love with them. They had the prettiest blue eyes I had ever seen on a cat. Mom just loved her to sit on her lap and pet her. She was a good kitty and lived a long and good life. Bailee helped me bury her and Janna dug the hole. Everyone had a little cry. Harley said I could have a little kitty to make up for Tassie. Aren't they such sweet kids. They all came and gave me a hug and said they were sorry Tassie had died.
We worked more on our baseboards after church but we finally quit because we were just too tired. Harley is sick with a cold and we are all hoping we don't get it.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for Church today. I hadn't went in a couple of weeks and as I was sitting there I just felt so at home. I love to go!!!

Catching Up and Kitty is Back

Miss Tassie Kitty. She looks very tired. It must have been the two days she was missing.

I haven't posted anything for a few days. We have been very busy. I have been painting baseboards and cleaning up messes. Tommy has been working on the electrical for the garage. We got the floor poured so he is putting up the lights. It is so wonderful to have a huge garage with concrete. My cabinets for my bathroom are the wrong ones so we have to box them back up and hope the Lowe's will take them back and exchange them for us. We got 2 sink ones and we need 1 sink one. Duh!! We are old and tired I guess.
My kitty went missing for two days. We thought she was under the house so Austin went under but he couldn't see her. I called for her but she never meowed. She has always loved to go into dark places and hide. When the plumbers came back to fix the heater he was under the house making a lot of noise and after he left Tommy went out in the garage to close up the crawl space opening and there she was sitting in the hole. He got her out and she seemed to be relieved to finally be out. I just wish she would have meowed and I would have known she was in there. She doesn't mind very well. Bad Kitty!! I gave her lots of hugs and food and water.
Janna, Scott and Bailee are in Jackson Hole for an Antler Auction. Austin is spending the weekend with his dad so it's just Tommy, Harley and me. We went to Mexican for lunch because that's where Harley wanted to go. It was pretty good. Then we went to the market and got some snacks. I just love that Harley girl. She is fun to be around.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my Tassie Cat. I am grateful that Heavenly Father knew I needed animals to love. Her and Molly are wonderful pets. I am blessed.

Painting Trim

Lots of trim done. Lots more to go.
 Tommy is hanging our fans.
Today I spent the day painting trim. I ran out of space to let it dry so I will have to finish it tomorrow. I took Austin to his baseball game in Idaho Falls this afternoon. Scott has gone to an Antler Auction in DuBois and Janna works late. She puts in 4 long days so I took him. It was fun to watch him but these games go on way too long. We also went to Arctic Circle so he could eat before his game and to Walmart. I got a docking thing for my Ipod. Came home at 8:00 and didn't do anything the rest of the night.
Grateful Statement:  Today I am grateful for the ability Tommy and I have to get this work done. I pray every night for the strength and endurance to finish this house.

Grouting Done

Hall Bathroom
 Master Bathroom
I grouted both bathrooms today. I have decided my body doesn't like getting up and down. But it's done. One more thing off our list. I'll be caught up before you know it with all these posts.

So Very Tired

I was so tired today I couldn't even hardly move. So I spent the day trying to recover. Can't remember what went on.

Floors Done

No church today. We finished up the floors. Got the kitchen and the laundry and pantry done. It was hard when you got in a corner and had to figure it all out and all the cuts around stuff. But we did it. Now I need to clean them. I just need to get this house done so I can have my life back. So much to do. To tired to even blog. So these catch up ones will be short and sweet.

Putting Down More Flooring

Look what Janna and I did today. We finished my living room.
 And my laundry room.
Here is what flooring we have left. Notice the two chairs. This is where we catch our breath.
Janna, Tommy and I worked on this floor all day long. We managed to get the living room done and the laundry room. We had to go around a corner and make it all work. Janna is a genius and figured it all out. It was hard to snap the flooring into place when we ended up against a wall. But we managed to get it done. We are so tired and sore that we can hardly walk. We did stop and go to mexican food for lunch. We were all starving. Then we had a nice afternoon shower. Just some gentle rain to make everything smell good. What a great day. I feel like there is an end to this after all. Now we are just going to bed and rest our weary bones.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the summer rain. Everything is so green and pretty. Heavenly Father is in charge...

Putting Down the Flooring

We have started our flooring. Wish us luck!
What we have left. Each box contains 18 pieces of wood in three lengths. We've got our work cut out for us. But we are learning something new.
Tommy and I worked on our flooring. It took us awhile to figure it out and get the hang of it but by the end of the day we were going strong. I wanted flooring in my living room, kitchen, laundry and pantry so I can put area rugs down and don't have dirty carpet all the time. Living on a mini farm makes thing really dusty and muddy when it rains.
Janna and I went to IF and took back 2 boxes of tile that was left over. We also went to WW and Janna had lost a pound and I had gained 1/2 pound. But I'm not worring about it until I get my house done. It's hard to think about what I need to eat when you're too tired to care. But I'm not giving up. We also went to Kohl's and I got 2 pair of summer pants and 3 shirts. And I bought a smaller size. Good on me. All my summer clothes are packed away somewhere in storage. I can't wait to get everything unpacked and find all my stuff.
I made Chicken and Noodle casserole for dinner so people could eat whenever. Austin had another baseball game so Scott and Janna took him.
We also had the concrete man come over that's going to do the garage floor. Tommy got that all arranged. It's getting close to being finished.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for flooring that just clicks together and makes it kind of easy for us to install our floor.

Teaching My Children's Class For Relief Society

Today I ran around getting things copied, laminated and gathered for my class tonight. I had to get treats and crayons and pictures to color of animals. The lesson I am giving is on animals. So I found animal crackers and gummy bears for snacks and a coloring book of animal pictures. Harley, Bailee and Marissa came with me to help me. It was so much fun. We talked all about animals and Harley told the kids about her Llama's and Fainting Goats. They were so much help that it made it easy to do. It's a little more difficult than just teaching a class because it's 1 1/2 hours long and the kids ranged form 18 months to 7 years old but it worked well and the kids had a good time.
That was my day. I feel much better about teaching this class now because I know what to expect. It was fun and I felt good serving.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the little children in my class. They as so special and so close to Heavenly Father. And I am grateful for Bailee and Harley and for their willingness to help.

More Touch Up Paint

After Tommy got all the lights hooked up in my laundry room and my pantry I had to do more touch up paint. It seems like everywhere I looked there was more white spots. But I think I am done. Going up and down that ladder all day makes my body protest. But we are so close.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for all the green lawns and fields that make it so pretty around here.
Blogspot was having issues so this is all I remember about Wednesday.

Touch up Paint and Electrical

I did the touch up paint today and vacuumed all the vents out and some of the floor. Tommy worked on the finish electrical. We now have kitchen and laundry lights. I was extra tired today and struggled to get that much done. I took Bailee to piano lessons and picked her up and then took her and Austin to YW and Scouts and picked them up. Tommy and I went to dinner and the market for kitty food while they were at their activities.
Janna and Scott had gone to Jeremy's Graduation. It was a busy day but it's over and that's all that counts.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the little book Dean and Amie gave me for Mother's Day. This is the one I read today and it filled my heart with peace and comfort. "Some Blessings come soon, some come late, and some don't come until heaven; but for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come." Jeffery R. Holland
1 Corinthians 8 - 1 Corinthians 9  There are many gods and many lords—To us there is one God (the Father) and one Lord, who is Christ. This is the heading for this chapter. It is so simple and true.

Going to Idaho Falls Day

Tommy and I went to Idaho Falls this morning and bought all of our lighting. We bought all the lights except for 4 outside lights that they were out of. We found our vanities for our bathrooms and sinks and kitchen sink and garbage disposal. We had my car so we had to go home and get the truck. I had to order my cabinets for my office so they can be down before carpets. That part had slipped my mind and we didn't have the measurements for the room. We drove back home with all our cabinets and stuff and got the car and went back to IF with plans in hand. We ordered our cabinets and when we went to pay they declined my card because I was over my limit. Janna called the bank and had them increase my limit but it still declined my card. I finally found a phone book and called the Rigby office and was told they hadn't increased it enough. After three tries it finally went through. It was almost 4pm by this time and we were sick of spending money and buying stuff. But we have almost all the stuff we need now.
I heated up all the leftovers from yesterday for dinner and that's what we had. I am too tired to do anything but go to bed.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful that we are close to getting our house done. I can see an end and that makes me happy.
1 Corinthians 7 - 1 Corinthians 8 Verse 3 "Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband." This was the only verse that made sense to me. I'll be glad when I have time to really study these scriptures. But if I get one thing out of them then I'm better than not reading at all.

Mother's Day - I Am Blessed

John sent me this wonderful card. When you open it "How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You" plays.
Little does he know that he has always deserved me. Heavenly Father knew what he was doing when he sent him to me. He is the best hugger on the planet.
How did Amie know that Janna and I were just talking about getting new things to eat. My favorite speaker is Jeffery R. Holland, and a CD to upload onto my Ipod to listen to as I go to sleep at night. I so love this family, they are the best. Dean has always been my rock. Straight as an arrow and full of compassion for his family.
Janna gave me two tiled bathrooms for Mother's Day. She worked all day long getting them done. What an awesome daughter. She is not afraid of hard work and she knows what her mom needs.
 Beautiful tiled floors.
Look at the pretty flowers they gave me. Janna knows her mom loves flowers.
Today was a lot of hard work but a fabulous day. We didn't go to church because this was the only day Janna could tile my floors until next weekend. We worked on it all day. Scott made us a delicious dinner of Steaks, Ribs, Potatoes, Corn on the Cob, and Strawberry Short Cake. How sweet of him to do that for Janna and I. Jeremy, Leslie and Jersey came over and brought Janna and I a vase of flowers. They were so sweet to do that. They don't have much money and to spend it on me just made my heart warm.
Brothers Jenkins from the Bishopric came over and brought Janna and I a Mother's Day flower. I felt bad that he had to do that but it made us feel good that they would do that for us.
And I got to talk with Dean. He called me and wished me a Happy Mother's Day. What a wonderful Mother's Day. I was so tired but so happy and content.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful today for my three wonderful children. I always wanted to make sure they knew how much I loved them. I thank Heavenly Father every night for letting me have these three to raise and forgiving me my mistakes. But I watched my mom with my siblings and wanted my kids to love me as much as we all loved her. I think I did it. They are the delight of my life and I love them so much.

Painting is Done

We finished painting the house today. It was a lot of work but it is done. Janna and Scott helped so it went fast. Tommy and I went back to IF, what else do we do with our spare time, and got the backer board for our bathrooms so Janna can tile them tomorrow. We also have to set the bathroom doors. I hope we can get them done. Then we can work on the wood floors next week. We are getting so close. I just think of one step at a time and it doesn't seem so bad. We went into Rigby and got a tile saw and I got some potting soil. I planted some pretty purple floors in the barrel Janna has on her front porch. So pretty.
Scott made dinner and I went to bed at 7pm. I was tired. I watched TV for awhile and that has been my day. Busy but productive.
Grateful Statement: So grateful today for my daughter. She is so good to her mom.
1 Corinthians 6 - 1 Corinthians 7  I read it. That's all I can say about it today.

More Painting

Janna and I ran errands this morning and picked up my tile for my bathrooms. I came home and started painting again. I had to quit at 1pm and go to Austins program he was in at school. He played the villian and was adorable. The kids did a wonderful job. And I forgot my camera.
Then back to painting. We got the master bedroom, laundry, pantry and almost all of the master bathroom done. I only have to cut in around my shower but I was too tired and wanted to wait until I was rested and my hand wasn't so tired before I started on it.
Austin helped me unload all the flooring for my house. We have to lay it flat in the house for a couple of days so it acclimates to the temperatures in the house. They were heavy but Austie and I worked together and got it almost all unloaded and then Scott came home from work and finished it up for us. Tommy and I went into IF and got our interior doors and went to dinner at Mickie D's. We were so tired we came home, parked the truck in the garage and quit for the night.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for Austin today. He is so willing to help me unload all the flooring even though it was hard. He is my best helper.
1 Corinthians 5 - 1 Corinthians 6   Verse 13 says, " But them that are without God judgeth, Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person." If we repent of our sins we won't be put out. Maybe disfellowshipped, but not put out unless we are not willing to repent.

Painting Finally

My Scraproom/Office painted.
My electrician getting ready to install my plugs.
Harley with her cute goat she is training to show.
Tommy and I started painting at 9:15 this morning and I didn't stop until 5:00 tonight. We got my office, kitchen, front room and hallway all done. Tomorrow we are going to finish it. My hands are about ready to fall off. But it was good to get started. I can see and end coming. We are going out to dinner tonight because I am too tired to cook and Janna wanted to go out. Then I'll be going to bed and getting a good nights sleep. Which I have been doing lately. It's good to be rested.
Grateful Statement: I have been thinking about John today. I am so grateful to Dean for being his brothers keeper. He has gone the extra mile in helping his brother. Dean is just am all around good guy. I love him!
1 Corinthians 4 - 1 Corinthians 5  The Apostles suffer, minister, and keep the faith—The kingdom of God is not in word but in power.

Ready to Paint

Tommy primed all the walls and ceiling with his spray gun today so we are ready to start painting tomorrow. We went to Home Depot and got the paint for the walls.
When Bailee came home from school I took her to Kings to buy a birthday present for her friend. She is going to her party tomorrow after school. So now she's set. We also went to Broulims for milk.
Scott took Austin to Idaho Falls for his baseball game. We watched American Idol and Criminal minds.
I spent most of the day in between going to IF and the grocery store balancing my checkbooks and paying my bills which are so few now that it takes me a minute. Keeping track of the spending on the house is the hardest part. Now I'm done and I'm ready for bed. Big painting day tomorrow.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Tommy. I know it's hard for him to work on the house but he keeps on going even when he's tired.
1 Corinthians 3 - 1 Corinthians 4 Verse 6 "I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase." So much doctrine in so simple a verse.

Now The Hard Work Starts

The back of Tommy's truck is filled with wood flooring that Janna and I are going to lay with advice from the pro Garth.
Walls are taped and textured. Time to paint.
These tapers did have a better way to do around my surrounds. I'm pleased as punch!!
Today was a stay at home day except for going to the store and taking Bailee to piano lesson and picking the kids of from YM/YW. I worked on geneolgy, indexed, cleaned and walked through my house about a dozen time wishing I were moving in and it was all done. I love it. It is just my size.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the YM/YW program. I know that if Bailee and Austin keep going it will make a huge difference in their lives. Heavenly Father is so very wise.
1 Corinthians 2 - 1 Corinthians 3  Verse 13 "Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual." I loved the reference to the Holy Ghost teaching us.

Working on Genealogy

I worked on my genealogy today. I am fixing some problems with my Temple Ordinance List. I am turning all the males over to the Temple because I don't have anyone to do them for me and I don't think it's fair for them to have to wait so long. I am keeping the females so I can do their work for them.
I also did some indexing and balanced all bank accounts for Janna. We paid all the bills when she got home from work. I made Potato Soup for dinner and worked on a menu for next week. I'm getting a month of meals planned so I will know what we are having. It makes it easier to cook. My recipe program makes it so easy to drag and drop my recipes into a menu. Then I can print out a shopping list and all the recipes. How easy is that. I also did a lot of laundry and the tapers worked on my house texturing it and they are still here at 9:42pm taping the garage. They said they would be here until midnight. Now that's hard workers.
That's been my day. And it's been a good one.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for New Family Search. It makes submitting names so easy.
1 Corinthians 1 - 1 Corinthians 2  In veres 3 it says, "Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?" This is a powerful statement about who we are to worship.

Partaking of the Sacrament

Today I am blessed to be able to go to church and renew my covenants that I made at baptism. It's good we get to do this because I don't remember much about my baptism. I am trying to really understand what it means and to center it in my heart and mind.
Janna, Bailee and I went to church. They came and got me out of Relief Society and set me apart for my calling. It was a wonderful blessing. I was blessed with wisdom and strength as I try to get my family to church. I needed that blessing.
We came home from church and I made beans and corn bread for dinner and I indexed and watch TV. I was a little tired today so didn't have very much energy.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Bishop Hall and his councilors. He is very nice and kind.
Romans 16 - 1 Corinthians 1  In verse 17 it says, "Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them." I always felt that I should avoid people that were anti-mormon and felt confused if that was right and this scripture tells me I was right. I don't like contention of any kind.

Lazy Day

Lunch Yesterday I made a Keto Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole for dinner. AJ liked it but not Janna. Oh well. So today I had it for lunc...
