Shopping, Shopping, Shopping

Janna and her girls shopping in the mall.

The newest baker in our family.

My sweet granddaughter is now the Relief Society President in her BYU student ward. Dean asked me if there was an age limit to be a Relief Society President. I said well, they are supposed to be in Young Women's until they are 18. Hailey won't be 18 until Sept 19. I know she will be wonderful.
Janna and I took Ruth to the Airport this morning so she could fly home. I will miss all the fun we have had and her cute personality.
We went shopping today to the mall to finish up the kids school shopping. I found a cute blouse at Penney's and off we went home.
I cleaned my kitchen and did laundry. My house was a mess so I got it all straightened up. I talked with Tommy and he is coming home on Sunday.
John found an apartment to move into and he has a friend helping him move his stuff in on Saturday. I think he is doing good. I know that pray works. He is living proof.
Austin made Chocolate Chip Cookies all by himself tonight. They were very good. So we have another baker in the family.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for the power of pray. I am grateful for a Heavenly Father that listen to my prays and answers them. I am blessed..,

Getting Lost in Montana

We stopped by the Yellowstone River to see the water.

Then on to the Upper and Lower Falls.

 Beautiful Yellowstone Lake

Here we are in Montana close to Bozeman.

Ruth and I got up and went to Yellowstone today. We had so much fun and drama that we will talk about forever. We started out by going up the top half of the circle. When we came down the other side and stopped at the Fishing Bridge, which had not one fish. We looked but nothing. Then we got in the car and started down the road to Old Faithful. Next thing we know we are heading out of the park. We realized we had headed east toward Cody, Wyoming so we had to turn around to go back in. The ranger asked us if we wanted a map. We just laughed and said we already had one. So off we went to Old Faithful. It was getting late and we needed to get home so we could do some more pages. So we had lunch at a cute little diner in Fishing Bridge Village and off we went home. We took Hwy20 out of the park and didn't realize we had to turn again. It was such a beautiful drive. There was beautiful mountains, fly fisherman and rafters. I kept saying we need to go through Ashton and asking Ruth if this looked familiar, but we were talking and laughing so much that we just kept driving. I looked up and saw a billboard that had an advertisement for Bozeman, Montana. Then I knew we were going the wrong way. We got out the GPS and sure enough we had traveled 76 miles up the Galletin River in Montana. We laughed a lot over that one. Needless to say we didn't get home early after all. It was 9:30 before we pulled into my garage. I told Ruth this will give us something to talk about for many years. We did get a page finished before we were so tired we couldn't stay up one minute longer. What a day.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for Heavenly Father's hand in the beautiful scenery we saw today. We were blessed to see so much beautiful country.

More Lemon Zucchini Bread

Ruth and I baked Zucchini bread today. We both love to bake so we had a ball. We made more lemon and then we made a recipe that Ruth had. It made a ton. So very yummy. It was so much fun. We made a giant mess and had to clean it all up. I also froze more zucchini for Christmas Bread.
We scrap booked some more and then we were so tired we had to go to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for my garden and all the zucchini that grows there. Ruth and I had fun picking them.

Making Wheat Bread

Yummy

Ruth and I took Bailee to the Mall with her friend Marissa and then we went to Winco to do a little grocery shopping. They are putting a Winco in Gilbert so Ruth wanted to see what it was like. We had fun just shopping and laughing.
We came home and made a batch of wheat bread. We needed to have some bread for our spun honey we bought. And my homemade raspberry jelly one of Janna's probationers mom made and gave to Janna. Well, we all know Janna doesn't like raspberry jelly (lucky me) so I got it.
I had my presidency meeting at 4pm and we were done at 5:30. Ruth read a book and relaxed. She is a little sick so she needed it.
We spent the rest of the night talking and working on pages so Ruth's can learn how to scrapbook. She catches on fast so it will be a piece of cake teaching her.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for all the wheat I have stored so I am able to make this yummy wheat bread.

Getting Ruth from the Airport

Stylist with Flair

Went to the Airport to pick up Ruth. It was so good to see her. She cut Bailee and Harley's hair for them so they could get their pictures for school. She is really good and gave them fabulous haircuts. We had hamburgers and corn on the cob for dinner. My internet went down so I couldn't blog. Makes it hard for me to catch up. That's the day in a capsule.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for wonderful cousins. Ruth is such a blessing to me along with all her siblings. It's good to get together with people you can relive your childhood with.

Beautiful Sabbath

I went to Ward Council at 9am and Janna brought Austin and Bailee to church. They told me in Ward Council that our presidency had to speak on Sept 30 and the topic is Family History. I also brought up to the council that the sisters should not be going to houses before the Priesthood goes in to find out the situation. They all agreed so I'm making a list of the sisters we have never been able to contact and they will go to see if they are really there and the situation.
Sacrament was really good. A man spoke about his trials and they were many and how Priesthood Blessing helped him all through his life. Very good. Made you realize you have no challenges compared to his.
I came home and took a long nap. I was exhausted. Don't know why.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for the Sabbath and the rest we are able to get. It is a blessing to have this day.

Grating Nutmeg

Baby bunny with the hurt leg. This one Bailee is keeping.

Smells So Good

Every time I use this nutmeg grater I think of my friend Debbie. She gave this to me years ago and I still use it. It really has sentimental value for me. Debbie used to cook for us when Tommy would have people from out of town for dinner when we had our business. She made wonderful stuffed mushrooms. We really had some wonderful good years full or laughter and tears.
Today I used this nutmeg for my Zucchini Muffins I made this morning. Zucchini's are everywhere. So if it say Zucchini I make it. I made two batches and they were delish. I froze some for when Ruth is here we can have muffins for breakfast.
I cleaned floors and vacuumed window sills. Now I have to dust and I'll be all ready for Ruth. I pick her up Monday morning. I am so excited I just can't wait.
Bailee brought her bunny so I could hold it. They are so soft and sweet. It has a problem with one of it's legs so Bailee wants to keep it. Her other two have been given away and she is just waiting for them to be old enough to go.
Janna, the kids and I went to Mexican food for dinner. We were all too tired to cook and clean up the mess. We brought dinner back to Tommy. He was too dirty and tired to go. Janna and her dad worked on the round pen all day cutting railroad ties to attach the fence to. Lots of work.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my friends. They really make my life fun. I am blessed...

Harley the Farm Girl

Harley and the baby goat she is bottle feeding.

Two tired farm hands taking a little nap.

White Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut Cookie
I cleaned up my kitchen and made White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies for Harley. She requested them so Grandma obliged. They were pretty yummy. Definitely going into my binder.
I went out to the barn to check on the little chickens and found Harley bottle feeding her goat. She takes such good care of her animals.
After I made lunch for these guys they laid down on the couch and took a little siesta. They work too hard all weekend long. I don't know how they both fit on my little couch.
I worked on Visiting Teaching stuff most of the day. It's hard to know what to change. Pray definitely works. Now I'm going to bed....
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for this wonderful family I live with. They take such good care of me. I am blessed to have them in my life.

Visiting Teaching

Brittany and I went visiting teaching today to Meshawn. I took her some zucchini bread and we had a very nice visit. She is a very interesting person. I really like her.
Then I came home and notice smoke billowing on 100 N. Just around the corner. I went up to see if it was anyone in our ward. It was the Green home and it is a total disaster. They are not members but the Bishop stopped by to see what we could do. He called me and told me they had parents in town and they didn't need anything now. How scary for the family next door who are in our ward. It blistered their siding but that was all. That was the excitement for the day.
Bailee and I went to Winco to get a few things. I needed to take back some shortening that I had bought and after we got it home I realized it had been slit when they opened it. So I got that replaced and I bought .61 lbs of Poppy Seeds for 2.42. What a deal and being as I use 1/4 cup in every batch of Lemon Poppy Seed Zucchini Bread, I needed a bunch. So much cheaper to buy in bulk.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Winco. It's a lot of work to shop there but I always save tons of money. It is a blessing for us......

Zucchini are Frozen

Roasted Veggies - Some from my garden.

Homemade Seasoned Salt - Tastes exactly like Lawry's.
Frozen Zucchini ready for Christmas Bread.

Today I made seasoned salt and froze lemon juice in ice trays and froze the lemon halves so I can zest them when I need some. I tried it out on my second batch of Lemon Zucchini Poppy Seed Bread and it worked perfect. Just take it out of the bag and zest away. Much easier frozen. That would be 8 loaves of bread made today and 4 given away. I had to make more after my presidency meeting so I can take some Visiting Teaching tomorrow.
Our Presidency Meeting went really well. We kept on track and got everything done in 1 1/2 hours. It just keeps getting better and better. We did a lot of visits last week and I worked on VT assignments.
I took some zucchini and a loaf of bread to my neighbor Molly. She seems very sweet.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my presidency. These ladies are so awesome. They make my job so easy. The Bishop is an inspired man.

Found a Gem in Rigby

I took Austin to get his 7th grade shots and then we went to Wendy's for lunch. He is such a sweet boy. Took forever because I didn't have his records and had to go back to get them. Finally met Janna at the Idaho Health Center and she filled out all the paper work and brought the insurance card.
Then I went to visit Ruth Peterson and found the sweetest lady on the planet. She is 96 years young and so dang cute. She told me all about her life in Rigby where she was a field hand for her dad. How she met her husband and all about her kids. She was so fun to talk to I didn't want to leave. I took Ila Seymour with me. She needs some extra special attention so she is my visiting companion when I need her.
Hamburgers and Corn on the Cob for dinner and then we watch TV for a little while.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for the sisters in our ward that I am getting to know. There are treasures everywhere you go and today I found another one.

Beautiful Sabbath

Bailee, Austin and I went to church today. The kids decided to have an argument as to who gets to ride in the front seat after being warned by mom that the next fight would result in Ipods and cell phone being taken away. So needless to say Bailee's phone and Austin's Ipod are taken away. But after that there was no fighting among those two.
Church was good. Brother Barnes' son came home from his mission and he spoke with his two cousins that had also just got off missions a couple of months ago. They were filled with the Spirit as they always are after their missions. I went to the Teachers Preparation Class. I think I am going to try teaching my next lesson by asking questions and see what happens. I'm going to start now so I can get it all down by December.
I came home from church and felt so tired I laid down on the couch and slept for two hours again. I don't know what's got into me. I just seem to be a sleepy head anymore. Maybe I'm getting old. Ya Think!!
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for Sacrament Meeting and partaking of the Bread and Water in remembrance of the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. That he would do such a thing for me is more than I can comprehend.

Zucchini Recipes Galore

 Crispy Baked Zucchini Fries

Lemon Poppy Seed Zucchini Bread

I made this Bread from a recipe I found on Kara's blog. It is delicious. And the Zucchini Fries are from Jamie Cooks. Not too crazy about them. They needed something more but I used up three more zucchini so that's a good thing.
I did nothing today. Just putted around in my kitchen making stuff. I needed a day off from my week of meeting. I really enjoyed just doing nothing but what I really wanted to do. No pressure at all.
We had a very nice surprise. Janna came home this evening. The kids were so glad to see her. They really miss their mom. And Tommy told me today that he missed his partner. Janna and her dad work together all weekend usually. I was glad to see my daughter home.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for my fun little kitchen. I love to bake and cook when I'm in the mood so today was a good day. I am blessed to have such a cozy house to live in next to my grandkids. I am truly blessed...

Bountiful Garden

Green Beans ready to pick again.

 Zucchini and Strawberries.

 Carrots almost ready to harvest.

 Green Onions

 Cabbage almost ready.

Corn finally making ears.

I decided tonight as I was watering my garden and enjoying my front yard that I would take pictures so next year I can see what can be accomplished. Some of these took forever to finally get going. My tomatoes were a dismal failure. Not one tomato got ripe and if they did the bottom of them were black. So back to the drawing board for them next year. Wall of Water are probably the key.
Today I visit two more of the sisters. I met Mary who is my "Hero of the Day". Her husband had a stroke about 3 years ago and she stays home and cares for him. He is bedridden so that is no easy task. She is adorable and sweet and funny. We had some good laughs.
I picked up Bailee at the church from Girls Camp. She had a good time. I just think she is adorable. Her dad came and got her and took her to the motel where Ron's parents are staying and brought Austin home so he could go to a birthday party down the street.
Harley is off babysitting one of Janna's probationers daughters. The mom is a nurse so she works nights and Harley watches the girls. She takes grandpa's truck and drives over and comes back in the morning. What a responsible kid she is.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Mary. When I meet sisters that are so caring it makes me know that we all have troubles. No one is exempt. Heavenly Father knows that and I think that's the way he refines us. He is also so close that he will help us through our trials.

Stake Orientation

I went visiting teaching to Ariana this morning. She needed a ladder to change a light bulb so I took one over to  her. Then I went to visit Karen Wilmot. She is our sister who is battling cancer. We had a wonderful visit and I feel as if I know her better. She had a full plate but can still be cheerful.
Then I came home and got ready to go over to the church to meet with the Stake Relief Society Presidency. I learned some things and really like them. They are wonderful woman.
Now it's my bed time and I must say I am tired.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for Relief Society. I am glad I have finally caught the vision. I pray for help in doing this calling.

Meeting, Meeting, Meeting

Today I went to Tiffany's to meet with the Additional Meetings Board. We planned our canning night. It was good to get it under way. I am going to demonstrate canning beans.
I came home and did some more housework and got so tired I laid down on the couch and woke up two hours later. Now that is just not like me. I seem to have to take a nap everyday and I'm still really tired by nine at night.
I made Tacos for dinner and watched Criminal Minds with Janna.
Now it's time to go to bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my counselors and how hard they work. I couldn't do this without them and the Bishop was totally inspired to choose these two. I am blessed to  have them.

Winco and Presidency Meeting

Austin and I got up early and went to Winco to grocery shop. He was such a good help. It took us 2 hours to do it but we got it all done. I think it's been ages since I've gone to Winco so we needed everything. Now we have food.
Then we came home and put it all away. Austin labeled all my stuff with the date and rotated it for me. He earned money for his airsoft gun. All the kids in the neighborhood have them so he needed one too. He worked hard for his money.
I cleaned my house some more this afternoon and then got ready for our presidency meeting. We were able to accomplish a lot. We assigned our first visit out to each of us. I am going to try to do a lot myself so my counselors won't have to do so much. They are so good to help in any way they can.
Janna, Harley and I watched Rizzoli and Isles season finale. It was pretty good. Not as good as The Closer but still good.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the wonderful sisters that I get to serve with in my calling. They are wonderful and I am blessed to have them.

Bailee Is Off To Girls Camp

I went visiting teaching this morning and then took Bailee to the church to go to Girls Camp. I hope she has so much fun.
Austin helped me clean my floors to earn some money. He vacuumed for me and I used my shark. We were done fast. He is a good helper.
Off to Sister Ewing to give her changes for her district and some cookies.
Esther came down to show me what she had organized today. What a wonderful job. She has just taken hold and ran with it. She is a dentist with 4 little kids and her husband is a doctor. She is one busy lady but she has her staff do it for her so it keeps them busy. I am so glad that she is finally taking charge of her calling. I think we all were overwhelmed at first. Now if I can get Tiffany to run with the "Additional Meeting" night we will be truly organized.
I am concentrating on the visiting teaching. And we are going to start visiting each sister in the ward. That way we will be able to find out what their needs are. Lots of work ahead of us...
Janna, Austin, Harley and I watched the last episode of "The Closer". I will miss that show.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my counselors. Heavenly Father knew what we would need when he put Relief Society on the earth. I could not do this job without them.

Sabbath Day

As soon as I got the camera Janna got off the tramp.

 Maggie and Austin jumping.

See they can be close together and not fight. Maybe!!

I told Grandpa that I was going to call this picture Grumpa. So he made a grumpy face to oblige me.

I started the day off with a Ward Council Meeting at 9am. I like the way they do it. They really discuss the people and each organization tells the Bishop what the needs are and who we are concerned about. I learned a few things I didn't know so it was a success for me.
After Sacrament Meeting I went to the Teacher Development class so they could teach me how to teach. I got some good ideas. Next week I'll be sure and take my book.
Then it was on to Relief Society. The lesson was very good. Connie is a good teacher. Then I came home and Janna and I went to visit Ione Hansen who lives down the street. We took her some cookies for a belated birthday. Then we went down the street to introduce ourselves to the new neighbors that had moved in. They didn't seem very friendly. I think they thought we were from the church but after we told them Anthony (I think his name was) that we were neighbors down the street he got a little more friendly. We met one of his kids and then we left. But we did it and I am glad. I can do anything if my daughter is with me.
Now it's bed time so Good Night journal, until tomorrow.
Grateful Statement: As I think about my day today I am most grateful for the Gospel. For a Sabbath day that we can all meet together and be Spiritual uplifted. I am blessed.

Visiting Teaching Report Done

Snickerdoodles

Peggy and I went to the church today and figured out the VT report. We made the changes we needed to and printed out new list for the sisters we had to change. It took as a little while to figure it out but we managed to get it done.
I made Snickerdoodle cookies for Austin and some to take to neighbors. Janna and I are taking some to Ione Hansen down the street. It was her birthday this week. Janna is friends with her some way or another and she is inactive so Janna and I are going to visit her. We also have another one that Janna works with at the city that she is going to visit for me.
Then I took Bailee to a baptism for a 12 year old girl at the Stake Center. She is going to be coming to our ward so we were trying to support her so she would feel welcome.
I took Bailee over to Brother Wilmot's house to drop off her stuff for Girls Camp and Karen Wilmot was there so we talked for some time. She has had a bone marrow transplant for cancer and is doing very well. Still can't be out in crowds or around anyone sick. But she looked good and we had a good time talking. She misses going to church. She hasn't been in over a year.
When we got back we went to Mexican Food because everyone was so tired. Tommy and Janna finished the sidewalk in the back yard and poured some borders around our flower beds. They are all tired.
Now it's time for bed so I'm saying Good Night.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for Bailee that she would go to this Baptism even with a sore throat because she was asked. She is a blessing in my life.

Pouring Sidewalks

 Finishing off the sidewalks.

 Bailee and her kitten.

Harley and Janna never quit working.

Alex and Austin gathering eggs for me.

Today we poured sidewalks and I worked in my garden. I went and got Alex to spend the day so his mom could recuperate more easily. One less kids sometimes helps. This is the first time he has ever gathered eggs. He is really a nice, polite kid.
I made fish sticks and french fries for dinner and sauteed zucchini from my garden. I pulled up all my turnips. They looked good but when you pulled them there was nothing but a skinny root. They were eaten by bugs so I am going to research what to do about that. One day I will have a wonderful garden and every single thing I plant will grow. I can dream....
I took care of more Relief Society stuff and now I'm tired and ready for bed.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for my calling. I am getting to know the sisters and figuring this all out step by step. We have different circumstances in this ward and I am learning how to handle them.

Tired, Lazy Day

I was very tired today for some reason. I was able to clean house a little and do some more laundry using my homemade soap that works so well, and at .08 cents a load I'll take it. It cleans my clothes beautifully. Kathy emailed me today to tell me she received her calendar and she had made her soap. She was thrilled with how cheap it is and especially if you buy the stuff from Walmart.
I made a few phone calls and set up some appointments. So much to do with the visiting teaching. But I'm just going to plug away until I get it all figured out. I have a week of meeting next week so I had to coordinate all those.
I made hamburger for dinner and baked potatoes wedges with olive oil and herbs. They are really good. I also made a chocolate bar thingy so Janna and I can take some down to new neighbors that are moving in at the end of the block. Now it's bed time for me.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful today for this little farm. I went out to lock up the chickens tonight and water my garden. It was just so peaceful. I am so blessed with my life.

Homemade Pizza for Dinner

I picked up Alex so he could play with Austin and took Bailee to Chloe's house. Bailee and I stopped by the church and I printed off some reports. It seems funny to me that we are to input our own reports. As soon as Peggy gets back in town we will have to go and do the Visiting Teaching report. I also printed out the Home Teaching report. Janna and I aren't even assigned a Home Teacher. I am going to bring it up in Ward Council. I know Tommy needs Home Teachers and so does Janna. Especially the kids need to see the church at work.
I picked green beans and zucchini out of my garden and made homemade pizza. It was delicious and we ate every piece. I like to make pizza. It's really fun to see the kids enjoy it.
One of our calves died today. We can't figure out why. So now we are down to two. If we can just get one out of the bunch it will help.
I had to take Alex home at 9pm and pick up Bailee at 10pm. Now it's bed time for this tired grandma.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for Tommy. He is so good at fixing things for us around the farm. I am blessed to have married him oh so many years ago.

More Relief Society Stuff

Today I went shopping for cheese to made Chicken Alfredo and Bow Ties with Focaccia bread. It was very good. I finally can make cream sauce in my sleep. I vacuumed my floors somewhat to get ready for our presidency meeting. I called it off because Esther was still in Rexburg waiting to get her son into the doctor. Then I took the kids to YM/YW and picked them up. I worked on visiting teaching today trying to get that all covered. I woke up at 4am this morning thinking about too much and couldn't get back to sleep so I am very tired and going to bed.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for the sisters in our ward that are so willing to do what they are asked. It makes my job much easier.

Roasted Garlic

Yum

For the first time in my life I have roasted garlic. I put it in mashed potatoes for my Chicken Shepherd Pie that I made to take to a sister that just had a cute little baby girl. Tiffany and I took dinner to her and visited with her. It was fun to meet her and her husband.
I also met with Ila Seymour to go over the singles. As she was going over the list I realized this had nothing to do with Relief Society. But she gave me some wonderful information on some of our single sisters. And I found out Janna and I are not assigned home teachers. I'll be fixing that.
Tonight I asked Janna if she would visit a lady down the street that lost her husband last year. She knows her from work. So Janna is going to talk with her for me and see if we can visit her. Janna says she is really nice and so I will make Janna her visiting teacher. What a good idea....
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for visiting teaching. It is so wonderful for me when I can talk with the sisters and find out how someone in our Relief Society is doing. What a wonderful program.

Lesson Taught!

 Bailee's baby bunnies.

Bailee took this picture of me watering my garden.

Today Bailee and I went to church. Austin went to his dad's so it was just the two of us. I taught my lesson and got through it in one piece. Maybe one day it will get easier but I don't know. We were able to conduct and get the roll taken and announcements handed out. We really miss Peggy but she had to travel for her job. I came home from church and took a nap. I worked on Visiting Teaching and called a few sisters. Now I'm tired and it's late and I'm going to go to bed. I don't have to think about my lesson any more for three months.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for the gospel in my life. It means everything to me. And I am grateful for my calling. I think it will make me grow and stretch. I needed to not retire from serving.

Back in Idaho

Austin and I took John out to lunch today and then we noticed Hayden had forgotten his pillow and blanket in the back seat. I know how much he loves his pillow and blanket so I took it back up to Elk Ridge to Michelle's. I hope he has sweet dreams on it tonight. Harrison has his dog duty. Cindy said she would remind him if he forgot. But I think he will do awesome. I miss those two munchkins. We really had a lot of fun. The boys are all set so off we go to Idaho.
It was an uneventful trip. Just driving away. Stopped at a rest stop in Brigham City and walked around. Austin slept almost the whole way. He was a tired boy from all the fun he had with his cousins.
Janna made Oatmeal and Cinnamon Rolls for dinner. They were yummy. I have been working on my lesson this evening. I am going to pray hard tonight that when I wake up in the morning I will be able to finalize it all. Why, oh why is teaching so hard for me....
Grateful Statement: I am grateful for a safe trip home and a wonderful traveling partner. Austin is so helpful. I am blessed with wonderful grandkids.

A Long Day of Soccer Games

Hot!

Check out the footwork on Harrison

 One tired hot little boy.

First we went to Hayden's game, then we went to Harrison's game, then another Harrison game and then another Hayden game. It was fun to talk to Michelle and Cindy. I miss my friends in Elk Ridge. I saw Bishop Bluth and Kris. They were coming as I was going.
I went to Subway during halftime of Harrison's last game and got Meatball Sandwiches for the boys. We also went to Stokes Grocery Store and found some drink for Harrison with only 4 carbs each so he would have something in between his games. They worked out really well.
Came home and ironed shirts and pants for church for the boys that I washed. They were pretty dirty and wrinkled. Now they are crisp and white just like Amie makes them. They packed a little bag with clothes for Sunday after church. Now I am done.
Grateful Statement: I am grateful my dear friends, Cindy and Michelle. I miss them. I know that we will be close friends in the next life. Now that puts a smile on my face.

Soccer Games Galore

Determination

Synchronized

How Cute

Harrison is Watching

Playing Hard

He couldn't play without his tongue.

Austin

What a busy day. Started off sending Hayden to a soccer game with Michelle. I finished getting ready and getting Harrison situated and then we went to see Hayden play. He is so cute out there. Then we changed fields and watched Harrison play. Michelle let me sit under her umbrella for Hayden's game and I found the most wonderful spot for Harrison's game under a tree. It was cool and shady. Austin and I just chilled out watching Harrison play. Michelle had taken Hayden home with her so he could play with Ryan. It was so good to talk to Michelle during the game. What a sweetheart. Makes me really miss the sisters here.
Came home and made chicken for dinner with zucchini so Harrison could eat something good without carbs. His levels were pretty good off and on. He had an energy bar before his game and after running all over the field for his game his level was 200+. And he isn't eating any sugar and hardly any carbs. But tonight before dinner it was 105. Wahoo. Maybe it will stay down for the rest of the day. This is very perplexing. Amie will have to figure it out when she gets home.
I can't figure out how to upload my pictures on Amie's computer so I'll have to post these when I get home. I also can't make the TV work in the family room. What the heck!!
I have been working on my lesson off and on all day long. Hopefully I will figure it out soon.
The boys are going to bed at 10:00 with no electronics. They need all the rest they can get for tomorrow. Soccer games all day. How in the world does Amie do this.
Grateful Statement: Today I am grateful for Cindy and Michelle. What sweet ladies they are. So willing to do anything for the boys. What a blessing they are to me at a time like this.

Taking The Boys Home

The crazy boys making their crazy dinners.

Hayden made his sandwich with a hamburger bun.

Austin made bread with Pepperoni and Cheese.

I took Harrison and Hayden home today. Austin came with me so he could hang out with his cousins for a little longer. It was an uneventful drive. We stopped just outside of Tremonton at a rest stop and I made sandwiches for the kids. Harrison wanted a banana so I had to call Janna to get the carbs. We are still a little up and down with his numbers. He'll be in the low 100 and then in the low 200.  His doctor will have to figure this one out. He has been so good to not have very many carbs. We have scrambled eggs for breakfast now. But we are grateful it's not in the 300 and 400 anymore. Makes me less nervous  about him.
When we got here the boys played the Wii for a little while and the YM called Harrison about the combined activity they were doing at Temple Square. So off they went after we devised a dinner. First we were going to have hot dogs. I threw the package in the microwave and when we started to pull out the hot dogs they were moldy. The boys thought that was so gross. On to plan b. They found some pepperoni in the fridge and Harrison had pepperoni, cheese and cream cheese sandwich. They were just laughing and having so much fun eating their "dinner". So Harrison took some nuts with him off they went to the church.
I took Hayden and Ryan to their practice and ran to the market to get some stuff for dinner. It's really had to do carb free. I got more cheese that Harrison likes and some chicken breasts, bacon and eggs. That should make them happy. Of course when I got home I had forgotten to get milk.
I also forgot to bring my computer, with my camera card in it, and Harrison's extra stuff and insulin. Thank goodness Amie keeps a good supply. The boys got home about 10:30 and I gave them a snack and off to bed they went. They can't play their ipods so they had to go to sleep. I told them they had to get good rest for their tournaments. Harrison wants me to watch him play so we are going to figure this one out so I can watch both boys play.
Grateful Statement: I am so grateful for a safe journey. Grateful that the boys believe in the power of prayer like I do. We prayed on the side of the freeway entrance for a safe trip. Prayer works...
